Personally, I think Mario Gomez is still my first choice. In Germany only Toni has bettered him and he's similar in that he's a tall powerful forward (he was also German player of the year last season). Good technique, makes assists for teammates often and a reliable goalscorer (hence the nickname "Mr Reliable"), he's also a new hope for German football. Last season in Bundesliga he scored 15 goals in 24 appearances, and this season 18 in 24 (I think). In CL he's scored 3 in 4 games and for Germany I think it's something like 6 in 9. His stats are very impressive, but also he fits the mould of the type of player we genuinely lack up front (powerful target man). Oh, and just to add shine to the package, he's only around 24.

Amauri's a fair option and I think he'd link pretty well with Pato and Kaka, but his goalscoring rate is unspectacular.

Drogba I feel is the right type of player we need, but he's getting on a little now and we'd have to pay a fortune on him, which I think is better used on Gomez.

Borriello I'm not convinced by. He's done well this year but there's something I can't put my finger on that makes me think he's the next Igor Protti. Still, may be a realistic target to have in the squad fighting for a starting spot.

Benzema is pretty amazing, but I can't imagine we'll get him simply because of the price.

Eto'o I feel is fast and could be good, so he's a possible option too (not too old either at 27). Would need work on finishing.

Sheva, don't want him and don't really want to explain why again.

My choice would be to bring in Gomez and look for someone who may be of use to the squad, like Borriello (who could fight with Gomez for a starting spot).

So it would be: Gomez, Pato, Inzaghi, Borri and Palo (maybe loan).
