with proper approach to the game i believe we should do better. the problem is coming straight from the coach not the defence.last season Nesta was there and gattuso almost played every game and we suffered terribly and didnot make it to the champions league.
we shouldnot look for reasons to justify our failure we should work on the problem and galliani looks he forgot how to handle things he only knows how to talk. today he came up and said that its not only milan who are suffering defensively, its inter too who lost 3-0. this guy has lost it really. it would be better if he compared the total situation with inter. they are top of the table and they are playing champions league (for now).

Please refer to one of my recent posts in the summer mercato thread as I've stated there the players I think we need to rejuvenate the squad. One of my arguments was to get more than just one good CB, and at the time I was thinking of about 2-3 being needed to add depth.
Also, my suggestions above do say we should press higher up the pitch, never mind for years I've said we play too deep, so I don't disagree about us being too defensive.

We have slowed down substantially these days. No more pressing, no more movement off the ball. Now it's just pass and jog

We were more dynamic back then, but are we really that far away now? Pato and Kaka are extraordinary and Pirlo has shown a lot of good play in 2009. Seedorf isn't the player he was and thus needs replacing, but if we look at Gourcuff the guy's intelligence and movement is excellent. The only area where I feel we really should improve (in terms of getting new personnel) to become a stronger side is in defence, as our CBs and FBs (not including Zambro) are very weak. That isn't to say we need to buy new players for the midfield and attack, but it's more important to strengthen the depth of the squad in these areas, not necessarily the first team.
