According to Spanish sports daily Marca, Sao Paulo's Anderson Hernanes could be on Real Madrid's transfer wishlist if los Blancos are able to strike a deal with Manchester City regarding the exit of Argentinian midfielder Fernando Gago.

Before signing Xabi Alonso last summer, los Blancos were reportedly keeping tabs on the Brazilian midfielder, who currently plays at Sao Paulo and has played for the Brazilian national team.

The 24-year-old has been vaunted for his excellent ball control, and he also passes the ball with precision, as well as being known as a goalscorer. He is also adept at taking free-kicks. Furthermore, should Madrid sign the Brazilian, he would be able to play in the Champions League.

Barcelona were also reportedly following the Brazilian as Pep Guardiola looks to reinforce his squad, but the Blaugrana offer was denied. Inter and Milan are also reportedly interested in his signature. The expected transfer fee for the player is said to be in the region of €15 million.
