If a player earn 4M a year, Milan must pay 8M thanks to the 50% tax in Italy.

So release players like: Oddo, Kala, Janku will help a lot because they only had one year remain then.

If Oddo earns 4M, we mustn't pay all 4M to release him but still save 4M for tax.

But now, Oddo was renewed. Kala will be endured another year, maybe Janku, too.

However...

Release all 3 players and lost about 10M is not wise, but renew them could be worse. The hope for them at least play some solid matches is very very small. Except for the 3, other cases must be carefully thought about.

I don't think Roma earn 2M a year, < 1M, IMO. Pippo's wage must be small, too. Onyewu & Bonera have long contract and are somewhat useful, like Zambrotta.

I don't want to bash the management as it is a difficult problem. And when Juventus can't release the like of Zebina, Gygera,... there must be some bigger reason. Sometimes, saving 10M in tax is not the best way to solve a problem.

Even in Football Manager, if the release is more than 2M, you must leave the player/coach alone.
