Reverse 1993/94 season

We have a reverse siutation of season 1993/94. Both Milan and Barcelona were fighting for the double (league and CL). While the whole world, except us (the loyal devils ) tipped Barcelona to win, we destroyed them with our central defence stars suspended

One of the main reasons for that big win, was the amount of rest and relaxation we had before the game. At that time, we had decided the SerieA title 21 days before the CL final, while Barcelona had to wait till the last matchday (exactly 3 days before the CL final) to win La liga. You all know what happened!! Of course our MILAN was unbeatable, but tiredness had helped us that night!

If Chelsea advances to the final, and Juve does not fall apart soon, I am afraid we are going to find ourselve in Barcelona's situation. A thing that makes me worried a lot. I think we have the qulity to win the double, but I am afraid we will just colapse at some point.

Ancelotti is not rotating too muct (How can he, when he is fighting for every point, and every goal!), thus leaving the players with a duty to put on 200% perofrmance, energy, ...

However, if Liverpool advances to the final, it might be an advantage for us, since Liverpool is still fighting for the 4th place to ensure a CL next season regaldess of where they gonna end up in CL this season! We might find ourselves against another tired club, and therefore, with our quality and experience, we'll manage to beat the hell out of them!

Any way, Forza Milan, Forza Campione! All the way. And as Diavolo said once, Whether we win it all or lose it all, Grazie Milan for the wonderful season, and the spectacular emotions

I think the CL is far enough apart from the league that we should get a rest. Hopefully though we'll be 4 points up on Juve by the time e face udinese and we'll field the b-team.

I can see what you mean, there's a lot of pressure, Chelsea can relax a lot more, our season hangs in the balance almost every week. 2 lost games could destroy our season.

Please guys, don't talk about the champions league final until we finish off PSV. I still feel the pain of last years loss.

Nothomg is taken as granted! The whole discussion is about the fear of Milan collapsing at some point. It might be against PSV or in the league, or we might finish our mission impossible with two precious trophies

I was looking at the fixture list for the end of the season. Did you know we won't the league finished by the time of the champions leaue final should we make it.

it goes.

22/05/05 - Palermo (H)

25/05/05 - CL final in Istanbul

29/05/05 - Udinese (A)

Winning both is going to be incredibly difficult with things happening like that. I think the Italian League needs to return to the 18 team format because of this.

An end of the season fitting for champions

Seriously though, I share you concerns and it would be very nice to have a bit of a cushion for the final game. The best way to achieve that is to beat Juventus, to create a 3 point gap for the Udine game.

This will be a tough one

i think that after the juve match the players can have a good relaxation whereby we will return to a 1 match per week program up until our home game vs palermo

I agree with all your points. The most thing I frear most is tireness. Juve have only the Serie A to worry for, while Chelsea and PSV have won their domestic title already so now they'll concentrate only on the Champions cup. Liverpool can only arrive 4th which is not a very difficult objective, considering that if they win the CL they can arrive 5th in the league.
We're in a situaton where we can we the double (cuz on paper we are the best) while on the other hand we may risk to win nothing.

Yesterday's game aginst viols was an alarming one. Tiredness was obvious, and we suffered a lot. We are luck enough to have guys like Sheva, and Serginho who can decide the game from two strikes!

Forza Milan! Milan Campione!

True, we have to look for a goal early against PSV and hopefully that will kill them off so the weekend won't take to much out of us. I do not want to see it going to extra time under any circumstance.

Well, with Liverpool wining tonight our chances would be better. I am not underestimating them, but they still have to fight for the fourth place and they will be fielding thier first team or atlease a good part of it.

Let's reach the final first. One game at a time. Today Chelsea is out so football shows that it still has some surprises up its sleeve.

Well Said Haroon. I totaly agree. However, we are just discussing the effect of tierdness with regards to our oponents. Clearly if we make to te final tonight, we would be in a better position facing Liverpool, from fitness point of view.
