Didier Drogba he scores when hes on he comes off the bench and scores .. scores important goals ... and scored more than c.ronaldo an them who really are playing great but most of c.ronaldo goals at times are just added on top like 4-0 to 5-0 and etc

Scholes & Giggs started the season well but have faded some what. Fabregas has done little to warrant a place in the nominations and Gerrard has been far from his best. It's a two horse race between Ronaldo & Drogba, both have of which have had exceptional seasons.

Doc i think you're being a bit harsh on Ronaldo. For a midfielder to score 20 odd goals in a season ( even though both Gerrard and Lampard have done it before ) is a fantastic effort. Scoring goals isn't a wingers top priority so it's natural for him to have less than Drogba.

It's a tough choice, both are match winners for their teams, but i think i'd ultimately go for Drogba ... just. Ronaldo will have to be happy with the young player of the year

yes well put Drogba for me he seems a more team player than Ronaldo who goes for glory every time possibly that is why he has 20+ goals this season?

I can't really choose between Drogba and Ronaldo. The could both be key in deciding the title this season (and also the possible treble/quadruple), so if Chelsea win - Drogba, Man Utd - Ronaldo. The other players on the list haven't been very consistent.
There's also the amazing Matthew Upson, who's had a good season in the Prem (in the two games he's played)!

Going on that though then you could have Matty TAylor of Pompey and his Wonder goals!

He has his own problem's but this is the season of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Thats the order for me, Ronaldo, Drogba and Scholes are the clear top 3 with Ronaldo slightly ahead of Drogba to win. He may be selfish at times but he is the biggest threat on the list, simply counting goals doesnt take into account how much he gives Utd by drawing 2 or 3 defenders to him every time he gets the ball. Drogba has done well too but in a different way, he is a battering ram of a of forward who turns Chelsea's dominance of possession into actual chances, again he is more than just a goalscorer.

Scholes and Giggs may not be as explosive but they are just as important to a team, Scholes particularly has been back to his brilliant best this year and you only have to count how often he is given the ball to see how much of an influence he is on Utds style of play. Giggs has played a different role to usual becoming almost a central midfielder in a 4-3-2-1, he isnt as quick as he used to be but he has such vision and ability on the ball that he still turns games on a regular basis.

Gerrard hasnt been at his last years standards imho, but he is still better than 99% of players in the league which says alot about his ability, he is still Liverpools drving force but maybe Benitez' occasionally inexplicable rotation of the side has harmed his consistency a little.

Fabregas shouldnt really be on the list as well, he has done well but he hasnt outshone Lampard, Essien or Carvalho and one of them shouldve been included at his expense.

Rooney should win the young player award too, his goals+assists tally is second only to Drogba and he only trails him by 1. Maybe the fact he has won it 2 years running will count against him but he is still younger than most of the guys on the list with him

Whats is all this stuff bout Man U putting Milan into a nursing home it makes me sick If Man U win English papers n commentators wont shut up about Man U been the best in the world and Rooney been better than Kaka. If Milan win they wont credit us they will find escuses for Man U makes me sick how Biased the tabliods and Media are!

So true ... we had 3/4 italian teams in the semis if you remember in the 2002/2003 season ... and they didnt say anything no attention at all

this season the prem has 3/4 in the semis and the english media are acting like morons as usual ...

Why worry about these media? Come May it will read : AC Milan is UCL winners yet again kicking all the great English teams out of the competition.

yes but they will Find exscuses for The Fall of English football in thye CL probably English fans will come out with "them italians probably fixed the tournament" etc etc or at least it just shows that english football is supiorior to every league because we got 3 teams to the fianl phase they will never say that Milan showed true class and determination to win it from qualifying to winning in!
