Nmandi Oduamadi

Nmandi Oduamadi:

I think after seeing him against Inter, it's time to make a thread on him. A Nigerian U18 international, who plays as a left winger, from what I have seen of him, he should be challenging for a bench role, and who knows, perhaps break into the first team! A bit skeptical on his crossing at this point which is one of his competition's, Abate's, strong point....

I think its way to early to say that he should be on the bench or first time. He did show some flashes against Inter but I like to see him play more before saying anything about the first team.

Why? He's played only one game and there aren't even threads for most of our regulars.

He is a Milan player and now brought to the friendlies. Opening a thread for him is logic.

About him, I am still not satisfied with his performance. He won't get chance if he is only able to offer the level of performance he gave in the game vs Inter.

he (minus a bad cross attempt) looked better than dinho after he entered the game. he brought pace that dinho no longer has, and doesnt seem to want to get back, and he distributed the ball without trying to make things look fancy and lossing the ball in the process

That's true. That's why I am still not satisfied. He offered avarage things to the team. He didn't try to run with the ball or without the ball, do one-two pass with the fullback/midfielder, etc. So, nothing impressed me from him.

if a bad cross is enough to totally condem a player, you could do the same to pretty much oour whole team. where did you get he didnt run from? i was at the game and he looked like one of our fasted players, with and without the ball. he was one of the few players that really excited me, he played better than ronaldinho

He done well. Used the width very well, but didn't go at opp player enough. The one time he did he skinned the number 7. There is something there to be worked with.

That's the only thing that he could offer in the game that our players can't normally do : Use the width very well. Other ability were average. Still wait to watching other games from him.

Nothing said that. I only bold your post and agree with that. If he can't do proper cross and only offer average things, that can't impress me.

I watched the game (streaming). What I mean not just run with/without the ball in empty area but run with/without the ball to try to pass the opponent since he is a left forward. He used the width very well, something that a player in that position must do but he couldn't cross (worse than Oddo) and didn't try to pass the opponent (with or without the ball). What he did generally try to be and stayed in fixed position.

I am not judging him now since he is still very young. What I tried to say is that I am not satisfied (but not hate his performance). He is still young and still has room to improve.

ok sorry, i re-read what i wrote and it seems more confrentational than i wanted to be. he added something that we didnt have earlier in the game. i also have a feeling the awful cross occured because his first instinct was to shot, and then he saw an open player and tried to cross, but it was too late to really work

yes, he added something that we didn't have since we started using 3 forwards (and then changed to usual 2 strikers formation). he played not bad as wing forward and better then what ronaldinho or boriello has done in left/right forward position. but he should be more active to play into the box of penalty. the fullback and the left-centred midfielder could be not so effective in the last game but at least he should give a try. ikande in certain game in one of the usa friendlies tried to dribble an opponent, beretta try to pass the opponent too when he played in the left forward.

Odu could be in the position of trying to follow the instruction of Leo since in his previous game before our lattest game he tried to do what he wanted but he lost his position so often. it may be a dilemma for the youngsters : play like they want or be disciplined in the path of coach's instruction.

he was fine, not bad for a first appearance. typical excited youngster performance. Leave him to flourish in the youth team.
