What do you think about the following lineup?

Considerind the options at hand on the calciomercato this year, and with the retirement of Maldini already in mind, I guess that the following lineup is a very realistic option for the next season:

Dida

De Jong
Lugano
Nesta
Jankulovski

Gattuso or Camoranesi
Pirlo
Sneijder
Kaká

Shevchenko
Gilardino

So, what do you think about it? To me that can turn into an overwhelming football machine, capable of TEAR TO PIECES any kind of opposition.

I think that's Frankenstein (a bunch of loose pieces that don't fit, forming a monster)

first of all, regardless of how good Mauro Camoranesi could be, he's a Juventino...

I see too many new players at once... please understand that just doesn't happen at Milan...

please see our formations from the last few years... it's always 2-3 leaving, 2-3 joining...

But the line up I post does not include Seedorf as a starter, it's Gattuso - Pirlo - Sneijder - Kaka, with the Clarence being one of the subs.

that's exactly what he meant - with Sneijder there in place of Seedorf, we lose physical presence in midfield, while I am not sure we would gain as much in attack - an inform Seedorf is better than any player there is, including Sneijder.
The above midfield may very well work vs teams that close themsleves down, but vs teams like Juve, Barca, Chelski we are gonna get massacred.

1) Camoranesi is set to leave Juventus

2) But nevermind, forget Camoranesi. I'm talking so about the arrival of 3 players. I don't think that is an extravaganza at all.

By the way: do you really think that buying 4 players at once is something too 'alien' for Milan?

BTW II: why we are becoming so conservatives? I don't the arrival of 3 or 4 players can be regarded as something lunatic.

Good lineup, but I would rather settle for Ballack in the midfield and Oddo at RB

Hmmm, Oddo is really another great option, and I guess we are still strongly linked with him.

It is possible, but i do not think we will get either Sneijder or Lugano.. It is not in our blood to buy young defenders..

Milan made 6 or 7 transfers last summer, that IMO was the main reason of this season's unconsisentency..the previous 2 years, we only got a max of 3 players every year (over the 2 transfer windows).. but this summer we got 2 new strikers, jankulovski, vogel, ele, kalac, and now we got amoroso.. i dont know, but i think its not good to make major changes, but i believe we will be seeing that in defence next summer..i agree with many people here, we shud get one defender now to settle in, so it will be easier if we get other defenders over the summer..

with camoranesi on the right we'll need atrong RB, like Bonera. He looks destined to leave Parma, and is a Milan fan..... About Sneijder I've already talked before, he cant defend good enough. Aldough our Pirlo is a great creator, you have to know that he creates a lot of problems for is in the defence as he hasnt got the prisical presence like Emerson and Vieira. So we need strong players in front of him. Kaka and Pirlo in the middle cant be left alone or we are dead at the back.

I've only seen Lugano play once so i may be totally wrong on him but he seemed very slow when they played Liverpool, in fact at times he was so slow it was like he was runnning backwards

He did seem good in the air though, which would help with the current set piece problem....

From your selection, i don't think De Jong is a good enough right-back, i don't think Lugano is a good enough centre-back and as much as i love Jankulovski, i'm not sure he's right for left-back, not at this moment anyhow.

I have to be honest and say that Seedorf doesn't offer alot defensively either and he ( like Pirlo and Gattuso ) isn't the quickest midfielder around. For a more resolute midfield, you need a tougher player not someone like Ballack. Gattuso playing alongside Pirlo in front of the back 4 is ideal, it limits him to tackling and breaking things up meaning he doesn't have to worry about getting forward. It doesn't strictly effect Pirlo either as he's still in the middle making those great passes.

If we're limiting ourselves to 3 changes, i'd go for this

Dida

Sorin
Gallas
Nesta
Revelliere

Pirlo
Gattuso

Seedorf/Jankulovski/Serghino
Shevchenko
Kaka

Gilardino

In a 4-2-3-1 formation from left to right. All of these are perfectly obtainable targets whom i think would settle well with us. Of course there are others, the Palermo full-backs, the left-back from Getafe (Pernia ?), Alves, Cris, Alex, Chivu ... i just happen to think those 3 will do the best.

If i was to get one other player, it would be a right winger, probably Mancini or Parma's right winger (is it Marchionni or Bresciano ??) ... just as a sub for Kaka. Those front 3 would all switch around anyhow so it wouldn't matter too much.
