AC Milan-Real Madrid,Champion Clubs Cup, Semi Final 1989

It was almost 20th anniversary of our last Champion Clubs Cup. We had won it in 1969 against Ajax and we had waited for 20 years for the next one. Years like torture. And finally, Milan was doing really well after years in this biggest cup in Europa. We were against the best team in history(at the moment, we are the best team in my opinion because we all know about Real Madrid's victories before Christ)

I was quite nervous because we could defeat Red Star only by penalties and Real Madrid was still Real Madrid with his great stars like Butragueno, Schuster, Sanchez, Martin Vazquez. Moreover the first leg's score was 1-1, such a critical score.

It was time to take our challenge. To tell the truth, If someone told me not to worry that much and we would score 5 goals, i could believe. Because Van Basten was like one of the Greek Gods with Maradona.

We were on the pitch with our legendary Mediolanum jerseys. We started the match very well. It was 18th minute, when our dear coach Carlo Ancelotti passed 2 Madridisti and send a bomb into Real Madrid's goal from 30 metres. Real Madrid's goalkeeper Buyo was not waiting for that shoot, so he could not save it because of being a little bit far from the goal.

That was just the beginning not the end, things will never the same again. That song must have written for us. Because that day was our revolution on football. The most horrible DEVIL was created by Sacchi and Berlusconi in history.

Just after 7 minutes, Tasotti drives from right and makes a great assist to Rijkaard. What Frank had to do was to jump and touch the ball with his head. And again just before the half time, donadoni drives from left and sends the ball inside and this time Gullit uses his head I remember my uncle going home. He was a ''real'' Madridista. Me, my father, cousins were so relaxed after this goal. We were in the final by first half and what we should do was to watch second half with joy.

To be honest, i thought Real would attack much more and score at least once. But our best footballer who was envied by all the other teams' fans, Van Basten&Gullit Co. was on the stage for the showtime. Gullit assists Marco and he targets 90 degrees. Even 10 goalkeepers would not be able to save this one.

Milan was a real disaster when Real Madrid is so fake that night. I do not know if our footballers thought so but that match was also like the revenge time for 1958 Champion Clubs Cup Final. Who could guess that the revenge would become so crucial? Real Madrid could touch the ball once or twice during first 30 minutes. That match is always said to be the best match in champion clubs cup. A match to be showed in Football Schools.

19th April 1989, 59th minute of the match. That is the time i had my best orgasm in my life. Donadoni take such a great shoot that they did not need to cut the grass for months.

What i like about Milan were that they were such great guys respecting their competitors. 5 goal was enough for our ego and although we had 30 minutes more, we did not score anymore. Nor could Real Madrid.

Thanks buddy. I saw Liverpool's DVDs including all European Cup final matches but i could not find any of AC Milan's. I would like to learn if there is something like that, too.

I have a dvd of Milan 4-1 Ajax (1969 Champions Club Cup final in Madrid), but I would suggest you try the website www.calciofans.com
There is a link in there in which someone is selling past european club finals and can convert them from tape to dvd upon request.

I have the higlights on DVD, i bought the 100th anniversary of AC Milan from Malaysia.
