The John Dahl Tomasson factor

It's over. Ajax played well, was unlucky and had its opponent by the throat in the final ten minutes. But the game between AC Milan and Ajax went on a handful of seconds too long, for the young, brave Amsterdammers. Less than a minute before the 5,000 travelling Ajax fans could start celebrating, the dream was shot to pieces: 3-2, deep into stoppage time.
A desperate high ball from the AC Milan midfield was flicked on. In spite of the presence of a batallion of Ajax defenders (Pasanen, Chivu, Bergdølmo, O'Brien) the always dangerous Filippo Inzaghi was completely unmarked, lifting the ball over the onrushing Bogdan Lobont towards substitute Jon-Dahl Tomasson. The rest is history...

While I'd attribute that goal 100% to Pippo Inzaghi, Tomasson did score a few memorable goals against top teams:
Milan-Juve Serie A 2003 (JDT 1-0 .... F.R. 1-1)
Inter-Milan Serie A 2004 (2-1 .... F.R. 2-3)
Boca-Milan Intercontinental Cup 2003 (0-1 F.R. 3-1 on pens.)
