Shevchenko update

Following his injury aginst PSV:

SHEVCHENKO: A.C.MILAN ANNOUNCEMENT
10/20/2005
MILAN - A.C. Milan have announced Andriy Shevchenko has undergone tests and that he has suffered a trauma in the region of the top of the heel. There was no evidence of any injury to the bone.

from the Milan website.
This really doesn't say a lot does it? No injury to the bone, but it doesn't rule out an achilles injury. Hopefully, however, "trauma" just means a bruising and he won't miss any games.

Here is something a bit more expansive, and reasurring:

Andriy Shevchenko is expected to resume training with Milan on Friday after tests on his ankle ruled out anything serious.

There were fears that the striker could be sidelined for a lengthy period after limping out of the Champions League 0-0 draw with PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday.

However, the Ukrainian was examined this afternoon and no significant damage has been detected.

The striker, five goals in seven games so far this term, should now be available for the Palermo match on Sunday.

Boss Carlo Ancelotti may rest him though seeing as the outfit will then play Empoli and Juventus next week.

Shevchenko is undoubtedly the Rossoneri’s most lethal finisher, having netted 113 goals in his Serie A career to date.
