.I am not concerned at all about his weight as I am sure at Milan he will soon be in top shape again. As for his supposed lack of motivation, it's normal to see this after 4 years at the same club where life is anything but positive for him ... I mean, honestly, how many players would remain motivated to play for a club when success has been a taboo for some years now and the fans have found in you their new target for public enemy #1 and boo you and your teammates off the pitch in 3 out 4 games. And for those who think this isn't more than enough for a player to lose his motivation, just look at what's happening between Tevez and Corinthians. Does Tevez have motivation to play for them? I guess no, yet we don't attack him on that but we do so with Ronaldo just because he doesn't look motivated. Well, how could he be motivated when he is obviously not happy at Real ... and, btw, unlike Tevez, he did NOT leave his teammates behind by refusing to appear at training session ... yet it's Ronaldo's committment that's being questioned by people here, while Tevez is seen as an angel or something and hardly anyone voices concerns over his character and ability to committ to the TEAM and forget his ego. If I have any concerns about Ronie, as Hasan R said, it's regarding his being proned to injuries and that's not just any injury but that specific knee problem that almost ended his career about 5-6 years ago while he was at Inter. I am very concerned that it is the San Siro less-than-perfect pitch that might have contributed for Ronie's knee issues to deteriorate even more when he came to Inter ... .... so, I would be surprised if this isn't just another trick to do Real a big favour by driving his price up.Also Real may want as much as they wish, but doubt Milan would be willing to pay more than 20 mil euros, in fact I would be surprised if it's more that 15 or so, for a 30 yo player in whom we need to invest a lot of work in order to bring him back in shape ... and there is never 100% guarantee about that. Another reason ahy Real will be willing to let Ronie go is that, with the likes of Raul, RVN, Cassano and Robinho most probably being favoured by Capello over Ronie, Real cannot afford paying a salary of 10-12 mil euros to, more or less, a reserve player. So, they would be happy to get rid of him - despite the assurances that they are not getting rid of him because stating otherwise, would drive Ronnie's price underground - and get as much money as possible for him, even if we are speaking of 15 mil "only", because, again, from his salary alone they would save 10-12 mil in one season only.Last edited by zlatanov; 23-08-2006 at 07:39. |

A good question for Ronaldo's fans here. Please clarify it for me, plz. PS: Just for the records according to MilanLab chief, Ronaldo will need 45 days to be ready. 45! So, until October we won't see him in action. "E grande fiducia c'è anche nelle parole di Jean Pierre Meersseman, coordinatore del Milan Lab ("Se viene, in un mese e mezzo lo metto in sesto")". And he is a professional player. Source: http://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Squadr.../ronaldo.shtml |

I would welcome Ronaldo over Crespo anyday so were beating Inter there. I would welcome the move for 10mil no more as hes close to 30years old just like RVN if we keep him fit and in top shape which is asking alot we could run europe riot with Kaka-Ronaldo-Inzaghi

People here are so blind for Tevez, that don´t watch his off the field problems. This guy is one of the most SELFISH players in the world. As Zlatanov said, Tevez leave his teammates behind(not surprise for me, every training sesion Tevez fights(or split) w/ a teammate) and got to a night club in BUENOS AIRES...and you gus knows why? Just because the new coach took off the captain brace of him...and the coach is right. Nobody understand one single word that Tevez speaks. So Leão prefer one that speaks portuguese. But Tevez is a primadona(sp?) and the MSI manager(Kia) compelled the others coach to put Tevez as a capitain. BTW, Tevez has 45 tickets to go to Buenos Aires in a year!!! and got to Argentine whathever it wants. But , w/ Leão(coach) things are diferent, and this "go to Argentine things" had been forbidden...and so the beloved Tevez abandoned its teammates and Team, and go to a night club in another country...it´s really the type of player that our Milan needs...To prove that it wasn´t a brazilian x argentine thing. Mascherano an Sebá has all my respect. Great professionals and great citzens....one more thing: Nilmar was playing 3 times better than Tevez since came to Corinthians.... some people from goal.com forum say that Berlusconi doesnt want to pay high price fopr ROnaldo and he asked Galliani and Braida to return to Milano and stop it! Plesae, please, let this be true.... Tevez!!!! I want Tevez and Oddo, and we are just fine. And about his behaviour, this is Milan, not Corinthians, I'll only say that... AC MILAN where there are MAldini and Costacurta talking in derssingrooms, where Tassoti leads trainings, and so on...

i was talkin about this with jim_UK over MSn, i wouldnt go mad with ronaldo comming if he was 4th choice striker, but if he is replacing Sheva then i think its wrong.... we got like £30mill for sheva, the money should be put into getting the best striker available like Eto, Tevez or Torres...
Alot of sources are saying that Real will only deal with us if we trade Kaka with them... i just hope Galliani can see sense and not deal with them... |

... I thought the reasons are more than clear. Also, please don't refer to people here as Ronaldo-fans just because they are not willing to get into personally insulting him, see my point .Ok, here are some thoughts/reasons that should, more or less, answer your question above: 1) Ronaldo, unlike Sheva, will need work and effort to be invested in him by Milan ... but that doesn't mean that the results can't be amazing, right? Still, that doesn't mean that he should cost as much as Sheva just like a dimond in the rough is much cheaper than an already polished diamond ... but if the polisher knows what he is doing and knows his job, a diamond in the rough may turn out to be a better deal, after all. 2) Ronaldo has a pretty nasty history with an injury that threathened to end his cereer at one point in time, UNLIKE Sheva. And there will always be a concern that this injury might reoccur again, hence the big price drop. 3) Real and Capello are obviously more than stack up in attack and Capello doesn't seem to be in favour of Ronie as he's very likely going to play an almost automatic starter liek Raul, and he also has players like Cassano, Robinho, RVN left to battle it out for the other spot up front. In this situation, having a 10-12 mil/season man like Ronie is purely an unneceaasy luxury - given his lack of motivation to playfor them and his relationship with the fans, it's in real's best interest to literally GET RID of Ronaldo ... This was NOT the case with Milan and Sheva, especially given the fact that Milan is legendary for being a NON-SELLING club ... this, naturely drove Sheva's price up, because, although Sheva did request a trabsfer, that didn't mean that Milan had to grant him that wish. Also Chelski, unlike Real, DID not have such a rich array of quality strikers as the only only good one they had was Drogba with Crespo willing to leave at any cost. So, Chelski were in great need for a quality striker, and given Roman's friendship with Sheva and Roman's habit of spending what he has to in order to get the star of the moment, their choices were basically narrowed down to two options - Dinho or Sheva ... you know waht happened then ... which brings me to my final argument and 4) Sheva's price was what it was namely because it was Chelski who were the other club involved as they are famous for paying ANY sum for a player they are after. For example - does Drogba cost 38 mil? If you ask me or Milan, NO, but according to Roman, he does. Same goes for Essien - anotehr 30+ mil transfer. My point is that when you have CHelski involved, the amount of transfer fees often, if not most of the time, reach ridiculous levels. And if they paid around 50 mil for a 30 yo player even if his name is Shevchenko, that doesn't mean that Milan, or any other club in that matter, would have done the same. I honestly doubt that Milan would be willing to spend such an amount of money for any player outthere once he's into his 30s already. Sheva was invaluable for us to keep and we would have refused any transfer amount if he didn't ask to leave, but that was because he had become something like an icon at Milan. When you buy, however, a new player, that's no longer the case and then it is no longer worth to spend so much money on that player, something Chelski obviously did NOT agree with. Quote:
How about when Sheva had his cheek-bone brocken? Or an even better example - how about the CL-winning season when he barely played due to constant injuries and managed to scoire 5 goals for the entire season? Do you think we should have given up on Sheva then too? |

I did but refused to speak up since I don't know much about Tevez and the thread was pro-Tevez. But what I've noticed is that Milan is a type of club that emphasizes relationship to the fans and team harmony. So the recent events of his not-so-good relationship Corinthians fans, his being stripped of captaincy, and not showing up on training is a sign for me that there are less chances of him going to Milan. We could still add the factor that what he did was a reaction of his treatment there but you can't deny the fact that he himself has exposed what he can do under these circumstances.
But I'm sure he's a very talented player fit for Milan style and I'll take people's word for it. ![]() |

another thing...Ronaldo needs to PLAY if he is about to get fit again. Like Crespo did, and Vieri unfortunately... So he cant be our 4th striker, but he needs to be in starting lineup... mr.Berlusconi please be reasonable, buy smart. It doesnt need to sound big, it just needs to fit the team.

You say you can only remember a goal he scored against Barcelona. Fine. But do you watch Real Madrid every week? Obviously he scored against somebody. And considering there were at least half a dozen clubs battling for those top four spots down the stretch, I'd say it's quite likely he scored against some of them (even missing 15 matches with injury). Did all his goals come against Malaga and Cadiz? For that matter, how many "big goals" did Fernando Torres score last year? In fact, how many do you actually remember Thierry Henry scoring? I'm sure you remember him scoring some in the Champions League, but truthfully -- off the top of your head -- how many specific goals can you remember him scoring in the so-called "important" games in the Premiership last season? Just because you can't remember something doesn't mean anything unless you watch the player's team regularly. Goalscorers score goals. They score against everybody. Obviously, every goalscorer is going to score the majority of his goals against the weaker teams. That's just the nature of things.

Until I read about Tevez leaving his team behind - and this in a moment when Corinthians is in one of the last spots in the Brazilian League, I beleive - I was willing to forego his behaviour problems and find excuses for all those incidents of his starting fights during training session with his teammates and getting into brawls on the field during a game and being RCed as a result. I guess, his talent and potential for even further improvement made me believe that he could change at Milan and he has all along been my first choice for a sub for Sheva. But after that incident of him leaving his team just because the coach took away his captain band, I can't say I am so keen on him any more and start to realise that there is probably a VERY GOOD reason why no Milan official has ever associated Milan with Tevez and all those paper-made rumours are just that - rumours.
