Gattuso; "I will return to Ibrox"

Reno Gattuso has told the chairman of Glasgow Rangers FC that he will go back to Glasgow. He said he has made it a promise to the chairman and to hiself.
He also stated that he wouldn't go when he's 33 or 34, that he would go while he still has something to give.
He has a Scottish wife. I think Milan should ban their players having wives, we're losing a lot of players to them.

its not strange, managment is not showing signs of wanting to be no.1 in europe. And we all know Rinho wants to play for Rangers again. If he really wants, im sure he will leave soon. In 2 or 3 seasons.

Thats a pitty, I could have put my hands in fire that Rinho will end his carrer in Milan.
I must say I `m disapointed, not as much as Sheva case though.

At least Billy will end his carrer in Milan.

Gattuso has mentioned this many times in the past, it's nothing new at all.

Players leave and move on eventually, get over it.

Gattuso has always maintained he wants to play for Rangers again one day, so I can't say I'm surprised. It doesn't however mean he's going to jump ship end of this season or next, but in the future. I don't have a problem with that because he's served us well. Shevchenko was hard to take because one moment it was I want to end my career here, next moment, London here I come! We are even offering him help at the moment to get over his scoring confidence problems. Milan psychologist Bruno de Michelis, said he's been helping him. What gives!

mzk57 is an unknown quantity at this point

If our best players can go then why not we should bring the ebst palyers of other clubs???? Rino wana go, fine, let him go and bring Javier Mascherano or go and sign Perrota of Roma or Hargreves of Bayern. There are many good palyers wanting to taste our Red & Black colors so whats the problem????

The whole rangers loyalty disappears you say that you want to join the league of Maldini and Billy. This case is very similar to Sheva's case. To add more to the fire he also has a scottish wife.

The important thing is that we need players who can carry on the legacy maldini and billy so that our new signings have someone to follow. Forget Kaka and Shevchenko we will have real problems when maldini and billy leave at the end of the season.

If he wants to go, open the door and let him go. No tears. I just want loyal and motivated players.

i don't even understand some of the hostility shown to Gattuso... he has always indicated he wants to return to play for Rangers when he first came to Milan... he is showin' loyalty to Rangers... not disrespect to Milan... and he wants to go back around 35... when he would have served up his full ability to the Milan course & take a breather & have it easy while preparin' for retirement via the Scottish Premier League... and you can bet if Milan was in Serie B even before his move to Rangers... Gattuso will help Milan get back to Serie A before movin' away... that is loyalty...

was this in a Uk paper yeah? so it might have been blown out of porportion.. he could have said he would like to live in scotland again, and the english press put the numbers together.. quite funny that hes sister in law is a tv presenter in the UK.. Gattuso is the only Milan player that gets a mension quite alot of GMTV lol

Football is a proffesional sport. You can therefor expect players to move to other teams for various reasons. It happens to other teams as well and it also happens in other sports. I personally wouldnt be to distressed should gattuso leave. While he is a good player, he can be easier replaced then Sheva can. There are many decent holding midfielders out there that can be cheap. Such as Mascherano, Gago, etc

but you couldn't say that Rangers is aiming at the UCL title...

live with the idea that one day, Nesta will return to Lazio for a year or two...
maybe Seedorf will return to Ajax... etc.

Plus, I can't see the source of this... just a few days ago, when given the medal for his 300th game played for Milan, Galliani mentioned Rino following Maldini, Costacurta footsteps... Rino immediately said he'd like to, but it's not easy... still, he'd like to win many more things for Milan in years to come...

Gennaro Gattuso has reassured Rossoneri fans that he doesn’t want a Rangers return. “I will end my career at Milan,” declared Ringhio.

The world champion was strongly linked with a sensational return to his former Scottish club over the weekend.

But the former Perugia and Salernitana man has insisted he won’t play for the Ibrox club again following his brief stint there in the late 1990s.

“This is all my fault, I should learn to keep my mouth shut and not release any statements,” the midfielder told the Milan website.

“The journalists wrote the exact opposite of what I had said, that is the problem,” added the 28-year-old.

“I only declared that Rangers gave me the opportunity to play as a professional on their side, but my will is to end my career at Milan – as everyone knows.

“If this will not happen it will only be because I am no longer able to offer 100 per cent in my performances.

“As long as the club will continue to treat me as they do and the supporters show their affection to me as they have done until now, there is no reason for me to leave the strongest side in the world.

“You all know that I like Scottish football, but after eight years at Milan I don’t really see any other possibilities than ending my career here,” continued the World Cup hero.

“I want to reassure all the Milan fans that there will not be another Andriy Shevchenko case.

“I told Adriano Galliani that I would have stayed even in a lower Division that I cannot even manage to pronounce, I want to keep on fighting for this jersey.

“This is a club where you win every other year, I cannot forget what Milan have given me in all these years,” concluded Gattuso.

The best part of that statement is..."I want to reassure all the Milan fans that there will not be another Andriy Shevchenko case. "
