Gilardino cannot take responsibilities - that is exactly the problem why he cannot score. He is morally weak. So try to give him more responcibilities and the poor guy ll have a heart attack.
Actually what I think Milan should do with Gilardino - is sell him. For the mutual benefits (for Milan and for Gila).

So tell me, why would we want to keep a player (striker) who doesnt score at all? What is the whole point? I guess he just not Milan type player, he didnt fit and for him it would be good to go to another team, and maybe start scoring there. And as for Milan, we could get money selling Gila and buy someone very good. Or you suggest to wait longer for Gila to score? I honestly dont believe in him.

2 seasons ago Gilardino was considered as Italy's best prospect by scoring 50 goals for Parma in 2 seasons he didn't forget how to play footie. Last season with us he scored 17 goals, not that bad. He's a player that needs to be serviced well, like Inzaghi and at the moment since the team is not doing well, THEY BOTH are not scoring. Gila and Inzaghi are different player than that ukrainian twat. He created chances for himself while Gila and Pippo needs assists.

Well said Franco...if we are to sell forwards that fail to score..then we certainly would have gone through a lot more than we have...the guy needs service, and we are playing two point men at the same time...this is the real problem..we need a striker/playmaker to help Gila with the service he needs.

Selling him would be a huge mistake, especially since strikers are not "dime a dozen" and we will need him to replace Pippo in the short term...

You guys..be serious..this is real life, not football manager.

Agree with Franco (and Warro's addition)... what we need, is to find a replacement for Borriello (and I like the guy, we even have the same birthday)... not another 9, but a 9.5 player (speaking about positions)... a Baggio, a Zola, a Del Piero, a Totti type of player... to go along Gila...

but we have taken the Leadership topic to Gilardino topic... can we go back to subject?

Guys, really...how long more you ll try to find explanations for Gila not scoring goals? I call it "wearing pink glasses". Be realistic. He doesnt score not because of poor service (Pippo still scores...maybe not a lot, but he does). We have Kaka who serves well, Pirlo and Seedorf serve them as well. Its not about service. Gila scored 50 goals not for Milan. That means he is just not Milan type player. Maybe in another team he ll start scoring again, I dont know. But for Milan - I doubt it. Selling him and keeping Boriello, or maybe selling them both and buy someone, who ll settle well in Milan. Maybe Torres, maybe Drogda...someone expensive, but able to score. And why the hell haven't we bought Crespo??!! Stupid mistake it was. Crespo wanted to play for Milan. We should have bought him.

Yes, sorry off the topic...Someone called Dida to be a captain. Thats possible. Dida probably would make a good captain.

Well he's got one of the qualities to be a captain- consistency. He's consistently bad

I don't know if Rino would make a good captain, he is definetely dedicated but he has too short of a fuse. He needs to be able to calm down emotional teammates, not the other way around. I still love the guy and he is one of my favorite players, but he is not a captain. Sandro could continue our tradition but I think he's still a Lazio man at heart, didn't he say he wanted to finish his career there a few months back?

Dida will be, but he is leaving us soon, perhaps. Gattuso seems like the best person to bet, while Nesta should also be a candidate. Kaka will eventually earn it by himself.

A word on Gila: Gila didn't score, but so did Oliveria and Inzaghi. If you want to find someone to blame, Gila is the easiest scapegoat, and I'm very surprised that people targeted him so badly as than Oliveria. In my opinion, Oliveria really hasn't done ANYTHING for Milan. Finally 17 goals without taking a penalty; all taken by the almighty-flops Shevchenko. If you want to find someone to blame, find Oliveria, not Gila. Or how about Inzaghi; he has been wasteful in the first half.

Moral of the story: Don't find someone to blame. When the team conceded goals, it's not only the defenders' fault. When the team doesn't score, it's not only the attackers' fault.

And btw, I remembered I said that we should sell Janku. See now I"m eating a humble pie (lucky there are not (yet) many fans of Janku lol)

You are right Jeff. If Gilardino missed those 2-3 great chances, I don't even want to immagine what I was going to read after the game.

Guys! He didnt just miss 2-3 chances...he is not playing well since the middle of last year. Inzaghi scores, Oliveira also scored one already. Considering that Gila gets the place in the first team all the time and Oliveira mostly comes from the bench, if he plays at all....
It is not about blaming...its about facts. Gila's problem is not coming from poor service - service is usual, nothing changed in the middle. For a year you were saying that he didnt get used to the team, now its poor service...next year it ll be smth else? You just trying to find reasons.

About Gattuso: he is a great and very important player, but he is very emotional. In Zenit Saint-Petersburg we also have a very emotional captain - Radimov. He have been red carded so many times for so many years, and just now he is more or less trying to keep his emotions. Although he still has arguements with referees sometimes. This is not good to have a captain who can easily get a red card, because of being emotional. So I dont think that its really a good idea.
Is it a rumour that Dida wants to leave? Or did he say it himself? Why would he want to leave if he is constantly playing?

I think Nesta said that he wants to finish his career in Lazio when Milan was in danger of going to serie B. Many players started panicing then. I dont remember him saying smth like that after. So I think he is staying for good.

well... i wouldn't actually call it blamin' someone... but the fault lies with Gilardino... he is a striker... he is supposed to score goals... he has failed to do so this season... as for Oliveira & Inzaghi... both of them have opened their accounts this season... and the fact is that Gilardino does not warrant a first team spot with his "brilliant" performances...

look at this in another context... if all three are contestants of "The Apprentice"... Donald Trump would fire Gilardino because he failed in all his tasks... Oliveira & Inzaghi would barely survive as they both has proven their value earlier this season...

anyway... back to the issue at hand... Gattuso gets my vote... always has been & always will...
