From http://www.channel4.com/sport/footba...ia/jun26q.html

Pato Alexandre has been nicknamed ‘the new Kaka’ and agent Gilmar Veloz has come out into the open about these links.

“It’s not just rumours, Milan have an official interest in the player. Internacional allowed Leonardo to view the player, as did Chelsea.”

Unfortunately, as he is still a teenager and under contract until 2009, Brazilian law states he will not be allowed to leave for Europe until January.

He looks the part! Anyone know the likliehood of him coming to Milan? What is the Brazilan media saying?

For now our press isn't saying many things about it... but I have a friend that works on Internacional portoalegrense (current Pato's side), and he affirms that he is keen to join us... so let's wait and see, keepin' the faith!

Milan lign up Pato Swoop with Kaka in Mind!

Seen as Our very own Kaka is Patos boy hood idol to play with that is what Milan are luring Pato with away from Chelski and towards us plus his wage and what have ya wich will increase dramatically. i love that player i hope he signs he is well worth having you can keep Eto'o and Sheva Pato is the real deal!

other articles say that Ronaldo is his idol ... go figure which one is true ... good news is that either way, Milan wins

as for Pato being an alternative to Etoo, I highly doubt that ... chances are that Milan are lining him up for after Pippo retires and for the near but not immediate future given that the kid is still barely 17 yo.
I really doubt Galliani and co buy the superlatives that he is ready for European football just yet and will either leave him at Internacional or loan him out in Italy ... or maybe even keep him at Milan but not in place of the established striker they have been searching for.

So, I would expect both Pato and one of Etoo, Sheva, etc ... wouldn't that be nice

Maybe Galliani thinks Pato is 27 so...And Leonardo doesnt want to admit the boy is only 17 as he knows Galliani would cancel the whole thing

I know this is old news ( from 3 days ago) , but if this is true, then he is very close to Chelsea.
His agent said that a deal with Chelsea is almost done. Dunno if smthg has changed since then

i have more faith in Leonardo than Galliani. Leo was key in getting Kaka, so i hope he can work his magic again. I dont know why a brazilian would want to go Chelsea though... considering Milan has Kaka, Ronnie, Dida and Cafu..

yeah, Tony, it's old news ... since then his agent has opened the doors to Pato for Milan and actually, judging from the latest rumours, Milan's Brazilian connection and the presence of Leonardo in the negotiations might have put Milan in front of Chelski.
My guess is that those reports of a Chelski deal being vitrually done were either embalished by the reporters or the statements were a bit pre-mature.

As for his stats, Kaka1899 is right. Those numbers include the last and the new season.

In this new season he played on all 7 matches ( the new season started in May) and he scored 2 of Internacional's 8 goals.
He scored the winner against Santos :

and the opening goal in the 2:3 first round defeat against early leaders Botafogo :

He also has a very good record for Brazilian youth selections
