Someone is crying for a new coach, yet no new coach is named... yet the coach has to win Serie A, and yet the coach has to win Champion League at the same time.

Some of us are crying for how awful Ancelotti is, yet no new coach is named that can be at least on par with him.

Instead, we criticize Ancelotti as if he is the dumbest coach in the world, yet we can't even name a coach that can bring us both Serie A and CL glory.

So, any ideas which are the coaches who can do that?

I can only think of Lippi at the moment.

Wait, I don't think any coach has succeeded in winning the three cups recently except Barcelona and Man Utd...

Maybe Ferguson.... lol

What we really need is a new squad, especially some relable back-ups on the bench in case of injuries or suspensions

I don't understand fans sometimes, Carlo is a very rare manager a manager who could get ANY job in the world because he has worked with limited funds.

Carlo has done no major signing but he gets blamed for everything, I don't think sacking him and getting someone else to replace him will help the team much. I feel the weak area with Milan is the depth, I feel new and fresh blood must be brought in but will Silvio want to spend money? From the impression I got I don't think so.

@Jeff to be fair United were all over Arsenal and deserved the place in the next round. I knew Arsenal would lose this game with the amount of players they had out, playing Traore and Hoyte in the fullback positions? These guys are kids and you dont make them play against United. Whole team played badly and a game which every Gooner would want to forget, not taking anything away from United though as they were immense.

Thats the solution! Thats the truth! That is what we really need! We don't need a new coach or a new playing-system. We just need new and good players.

Of course, I"m not saying that Carlo Ancelotti can win CL EVERY YEAR, but I haven't seen anyone for the past 10 years with such consistency in Champion League (except those awful game against Deportivo or Liverpool).

Ideas?
Well, Jeff, if this post was quoted to my earlier post, I think you misunderstand me.

I never said that I want a change in Milan's coach, I just told that if someone thinks about a new coach after bad result(s) in Serie A, it's a normal thing.

For me, as I wrote before, the most importan thing is CL and Carlo is the best coach for Milan right now who can give success in CL. That's why I said in previous post that I still want 2 CL from Carlo to catch Madrid's achievements.

As I said in another thread long time ago, I count 1 CL's trohpy more than 5 scudetti.

I agree, even though 21 points behind Inter is unacceptable.

That's right, this 21 points that make many fans very upset with Milan IMO. Ideally Milan should be like before 2006/2007. We competed in both competitions but I personally think this is still a transitional time of Milan. We lost not only Stam, Sheva and Rui Costa in 2006/2007 but also Seedorf, Cafu and Serginho (?and Dida?). Since 2006/07 these players can't play like they did before. We all know how great Seedorf, Cafu and Serginho were. Until now Milan still haven't subtituted all those players except probably Sheva (Pato).

A very good point of view, we had Rui Costa a quality MF coming from the bench, we had Sheva, Pippo, Crespo and Tomasson , 4 very good strikers, Stam adding to Nesta, Maldini.

We had Cafu still very good, Inter has Maicon, bring Daniel Alves,

4 Quality strikers!!, Pato, Gila (Benzema), Drogba, Pallochhi, Borriello?

Rui Costa (Van De Vaart), Stam (Mexes, Zapata?)

Let me start by saying that i'm very disappointed with the vast majority of our serie A performances. We've been looking last luster and unmotivated, BUT if you put our season in the context of objectives we are doing well. In my opinion the Milan management has had four objectives this season that they felt to be realistic;
1. Win the World Club Cup. This was said numerous times by different players that this was a main objective to this season. This also made Milan the most decorated team in the world. Accomplished!
2. Retain the Champions League. This has not been not in the modern format. Maldini has stated that he wants to retire with another CL trophy, he never said he wanted to go out with the scudetto. Still in the running.
3. Win the Uefa SuperCup. This added to our trophy case, which Berlu likes a lot.
4. Finish in the top 4 to qualify for the CL qualifactions. Still in the running and only 3 points out of 4th if the Viola win tomorrow.

With all this being said we are still on track with the objectives above. Sheva has never been replaced and we are seeing what he brought to the team as a player. As Gio stated (and I stated in the summer mercato thread) we need a commanding striker like Drogba or Toni. Carlo's system demands that and that is what we do not have. Yes we all see holes in the team and I think well see 3 to 4 signings this summer to start rebuilding.

Carlo is a great coach but has limited tools. And Pece4ever, you are wrong, Carlo is not in charge of signing players. In Italy managers do not sign players like they do in England.
