I think Ariel might have already wrote about this, but here I go...
I was born in former Yugoslavia. Yugoslavia means “land of the south slavs.” All that formally is left of the country are its two republics: Serbia and Montenegro (February 2003). Those two republics are all that remain of an old federation that once included Bosnia, Croatia, Macedonia and Slovenia. Former Yugoslavia has had a very harsh past, but today is a less violent place. Serbia and Montenegro offers a variety of scenery, from the low mountains and highlands of Serbia to the mountainous coastal republic of Montenegro. A range of architectural styles, including Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and baroque, dot the landscape. Ruins, fortresses, Byzantine-style basilicas, churches, amphitheaters and various other monuments all evident of the complexity of the region's history.
