According to a report on Sky Sport 24, ambitious Serie A side Genoa are on the verge of signing experienced full-back Kakha Kaladze from Milan. The report claims that the Grifone will confirm the transfer of the Georgian international in the coming hours.

The 32-year-old defender appears to be surplus to requirements at the San Siro and is widely expected to leave the club before the transfer window slams shut.

Kaladze has previously been linked with Dutch side Vitesse, while he appeared to be on his way to Juventus earlier on Tuesday. However, the proposed swap deal with Fabio Grosso eventually fell through for unknown reasons.

The former Dynamo Kyiv star hasn't given up hopes of leaving Milan though and could now join Genoa instead. Kaladze is expected to undergo a medical later today and will sign a contract upon completion.
