If you look at it more properly: we know have Ibra/Pato and Robinho/Cassano, we have two attacking lines of international level and can rotate them without decreasing the level of the team on the pitch. Ibra, Robinho and Cassano are all hard workers (Ibra since this season, Robinho and Cassano move a lot on and off the ball), which should force Pato to make some efforts too if he wants to keep a starting spot. In 6 months, our management also deleted the weight of pressure that Pato had on his shoulders, last year, he had to be our main striker, as well as two years ago, and suddenly, he has 3 international, "young" and experienced players with him. I think Pato will learn a lot more now and will play a bit less often, which should also help him not to be injured all the time. So with Cassano, I see the end of a kind of trilogy helping the club as a whole as it looks like there has been a project (by looking at our attacking line like I did in the previous paragraph: Ibra/Pato and Robinho/Cassano) and helping Pato to grow.
