Sheva is indeed on 56, needs only 1 more to equal the great Eusebio.

I think there is a 2 goal discrepancy in the total tally for Sheva. 54 total and 42 in CL for Andrey. 2 of his goal inthe CL were discarded due to some scandal involving Dynamo Kyev and alleged bribery. Go figure. I wish Sheva had a closer tagret to Eusebio, I just wish.

Sheva will overcome Eusebio in the games against Lyon. And then if he stays he will catch Muller. 10 more is not much for a player like him.

54 is an official tally for Andrey in all euro-cups.

(has a record of 43 as of March 12, 2005. Sheva scored 8 this year in CL, and 3 more ( 2 to Inter, 1 to Eindhoven) last year after March 12.

2 goals are stripped off his record in 1995:

This numbers are not right, this is how it is:

Muller 62
Eusebio/Sheva 56
Raul 53
Inzaghi 52
Di Stefano 50

And in CL only:
Raul 51
Sheva\RvN 43
Henry 41

P.S. Shevchenko has 53 (or 52?) goals in CL including the qualifing stage, but in the competition itself only 43. Raul has a big gap there, but he can be reachable.

Here is the site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_football_records
He is very reliable and has lots of data from all leagues (if u want to know who is Serie all time best scorer u can also find there, just type "serie a" in the search slot.)

in the CL Raul has 51 I think and Sheva/RvN has 43 each.

I know nothing about the all time thing.

The goal against lyon took the Ukrainian star to the top of the all-time goalscoring charts in the competition, with 52 goals, one more than Raul. Former Real Madrid player Alfredo di Stefano lies third in the list with 49 goals, followed by Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy (47) and former Benfica and Portugal striker Eusebio (46).

Sheva 52
Raul 51
Di ste 49
RvN 47
Eusebio 46

Yup its an error, but there doesnt seem to be any reliable sites on the web.Wikipedia is useless, because you can go on and edit what you want in.

All I know is the commentator said Sheva is the highest scorer ic CL ahead of Raul.

What are u talking about, edit what? Wikipedia is constantly updated by Uefa, and except that I personaly remember how Sheva scored 4 goals against Dynamo Zagreb 3-4 years ago in qualifing round (2 home and 2 away). So if Sheva has 56 overoll, and take away 3 goals in uefa cup, 1 in super cup and that makes it 52, take the 4 goals against Zagreb and it's already 48... it just can't be 52. He must scored 5 more in qualifing stages, so it looks like this (after my calculation):
Uefa Cup :3
Super cup:1
CL Qualification stage:9
CL:43
Total:56

So if u want to count 9 goals from qualification round than he has 52 and 1 goal ahead of Raul. BTW there is some problems with the counting like some people mentioned, some sites reporting Sheva has 57 (acmilan.com, Dynamo.Kiev.ua) and some 56 (Uefa), maybe it has something to do that Dynamo was accused of bribing and Sheva's goal (or goals) were canceled.
