Well i guess people would be annoyed that we went all the way to Barcelona and only got Gudjohnson, but i think he's a great player and like i said before, he's practically a carbon copy of Tommason so he'd be great for the quality of the squad.

He's better than alot of the strikers we've been linked with, though right now he's been hit by a dip in form while at Barcelona just like half of their squad. Some rumours were linking him with a move away from the Nou Camp for just £5 million, i don't think it would be much of a risk.

Adebayor Transfer Unlikely - Galliani
Milan president Adriano Galliani thinks it will be very hard to sign Emmanuel Adebayor from Arsenal because Italian clubs are unable to spend the same amounts of money as the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona.

Adriano Galliani seems to have given up, at least for now, on the objective of signing Emmanuel Adebayor from Arsenal. The Milan transfer guru believes the London side are asking more than what the Rossoneri are willing to offer.

"Adebayor is priced at 45 million euros, these are impossible figures for an Italian club, and indeed the best footballers in the world no longer come here," he said. "When big clubs like Chelsea and Barcelona make their bids, it's impossible to compete because they have more money to spend."

Galliani was more optimistic about a possible transfer of Ronaldinho from Barcelona: "For him an opportunity has opened up, let's see what Barcelona will ask for him and then we will see. I saw him play the other night, he seemed a bit heavy, but the talent's still there."

Adebayor isn't worth 45 million. If Barcelona gets him, they'll off load Eto'o for far less than that... perhaps 30-35 million.

The Italian club has been linked with a move for the striker in recent weeks and there had been suggestions that the Togolese striker would be their only major signing of the summer.However, comments attributed to Milan vice president Adriano Galliani appear to suggest that the Rossoneri have all but given up on the striker.

He said: “Adebayor is overridden by continuous requests for €45 million (£35.6 million), these figures are impossible for clubs in Italy.”

Galliani went on to bemoan the fact that Serie A cannot compete with the other European leagues in the same way that they used to, especially when it comes to attracting the top players.

“In fact, the top footballers in the world do not come here any more,” he reflected, before concluding, “When big clubs like Barcelona and Chelsea arrive it is impossible to compete, because they have a much more advantageous fiscal situation.”

The news will encourage both Barcelona and Chelsea who have both been linked with a move for the striker, although it is believed that Adebayor would favour a move to the Camp Nou where he would be reunited with ex-Arsenal striker Thierry Henry.

Adebayor scored 24 league goals for Arsenal last season, which has brought him to the attention of the top clubs.Although he has recently expressed his dissatisfaction with his current talks at Arsenal, it appeared he had later done a U-turn and pledged his future to the club.

Therefore, whether Adebayor will remain at the club or not next season still seems clouded in confusion.

Lets get to other news. This may open the window for the proven Eto'o to be sold for 30-35 million to help Barcelona finance a move for Adebayor.

NO. I certainly would not.

Barca will end up replacing Ronaldinho & Eto'o with Arshavin & Adebayor respectively. I can't see us buying both of those players, besides i think Eto'o will end up at Chelsea anyway.

Whilst it now seems definite that Ronaldinho will leave Barcelona after having been informed by new manager Pep Guardiola that he doesn’t figure in his plans, what is still unclear is where the former World Player of the Year will end up.

The Brazilian signed for Barca in 2003 from Paris St Germain and has gone on to make close to 150 appearances for the club, winning the Champions League and two La Liga titles at the Camp Nou.

However, he struggled with injury and fitness last season and was also criticised for his attitude towards training. Rumours of perceived dressing room unrest also followed and it was no surprise to hear that Barcelona were happy to let him leave.

Manchester City’s interest in signing Ronaldinho is long-standing but few expected it to last. However, according to Sky Sports News a source close to the proposed transfer has said: “There is still a strong possibility that the deal to take Ronaldinho to Eastlands can still be done.”

Whilst AC Milan and Chelsea have also been rumoured to be interested in signing the Barcelona ace, no firm offers have been made, leaving Ronaldinho’s future in some doubt as the new season looms ever closer

Although Manchester City are unlikely to be the Brazilian’s first choice, the lack of offers elsewhere may mean that City have a chance of pulling off an unlikely transfer.

New manager Mark Hughes would undoubtedly love to have Ronaldinho at the club and he can offer the Brazilian UEFA Cup football and also the chance to play with fellow countryman Elano should he chose to join him in Manchester.

The mechanics of such a deal are likely to be convoluted and may stretch Manchester City financially. However, should the club manage to persuade Ronaldinho to join them it would undoubtedly be one of the greatest transfer coups in their history.
