This win means a lot to me...i'm happy we won cuz we deserved it...we played better than Juventus..They really didn't create much...Milan has to spread the play..However, let this win not let us get all nonchallant...We have much work to do...we need 2-3 signings because our squad is small...

Berlusconi at least we have been embarassed for about 7-8 games losing and we did everything to make sure we won this trophy for you...Give us signings in return maine...

I dont know how any body can doubt Galliani´s love for the club...you just cant fake those emotions...especially when you know you should contain yourself...he celebrated more than I did when the pks went in!!

Now, Berlu has said the market is closed, but with Di Genarro out, will that still be the case?

First game I watched this Pre-season so, maybe some comments are unfair:

First of all, the referee was horrible(for us). At least two clear hand on the ball...what a horrible ref.

- I read a lot here that Leo was using a 4-3-3 and thats scares me. As I said it was the first game that I saw, but thats nothing but a traditional way to Brazilians NT and Team(MIlan also) to play. The problem is that Ronaldinho often(maybe because of fitnnes) go to much deep in attack(almost like a CF), when for to play in that role you need to come back to initiate the plays. It was a clear 4-3-1-2 and I´m glad now.

- If the game was a indication, can´t understand and agree with the bash on Leonardo. I saw good decisions and a much more courage(as the old Carlo) aproach to the game. Shame that Berlusconi didn´t give Luis Fabiano to Leo...sevaral times we couldn´t do better because our forwards(Pippo, Huntelaar and Borrielo) coulnd´t create anything...Even the minimum and simple pass.

- Pato will be the same Pato. you guys don´t know, but all Brazilians Teams coaches complain when a player goes to Seleção because they do nothing there regarding condition, and they(the ones that don´t play) always come back bad physicaly. Put the wedding in the cake and you have a total out of shape player.

- First time that I saw Abate playing and I´m impressed. The attitude(played with a knife in the theets), tactical awarenes and talent are there to anyone to see. Thats a player that don´t feel the weight of to play for Milan. If Seedorf, Pirlo or Gattuso don´t step up, can´t sse how Leonardo will keep this guy out of the first team.

- I love Flamini´s game...what a luck we have to pick this guy for free. The best player of our midfield, and if Leo wants to wim, and STARTER!

- Nesta is the same old Nesta...shame he can´t stay healthy all season. T. Silva also as great. Very unlucky on Diego´s goal, but I still want a defender that chases the ball than one just watching as last season. His face when he lost that header(as I said in the past, his aerial game is amazing on offense and good on defense) was heartbreaking Great that score the penalty. But we still lack a more powerfull defender...When Diego was on the field Amauri gave nightmares for both.

The only bad thing was that after the display of today, Berlusconi will not reinforce our team...and we are 3 injures(Pato, Nesta/Tiago, Flamini) for a horrible season...

Thats why I put the blame of our horrible market more in Berlusconi than in Galliani...the bald man love´s Milan and always receive the bash for Berlusca(the boss) decisions...At least he receive a lot of money for that.

ok now that you all have digested the win, back to reality....

first half was good I agree, could prolly be better with Seedorf in Rino's spot.... Ronaldinho had a very mixed game, had some good moments and some bad moments - again he lacks consistency.... Pato started the game really well, then started to become very, very frustrating to watch...... Pirlo I thought did great, so did the defenders (except Antonini who disappointed me, again).. Pippo did well, Boriello disappointed me (he's going to be the new scapegoat for next season), and Huntelaar had a game to forget in my opinion. It's clear though that he needs to understand his team mates more..... oh yeah and I forgot to mention that our CB's were awesome and fill me with confidence ahead of next season, I just hope Sandro stays healthy.

The only work that has to be done is with the understanding between our forwards.

Take Pato's nice move on the left-hand side, he went for power directly across the face of the goal. Huntelaar, on the other hand, held is run (making the smarter choice) so that Pato could pass it further up the box, outside the group of defenders and out of the range of Buffon.

Buffon saved Juve numerous times, and the ref should have given a penalty for that hand-ball in front of Dinho's face in the first half. He also allowed Melo and company to simply hack down Pato and Dinho, how Melo escaped this game without a card is beyond me. Not carding anyone simply invited more challenges onto our players, which bothered me a lot.

Huntelaar had a good shot saved by Buffon, but, seeing the progress he's made from his first outing in the TIM Cup to today, is very impressive. I hope he'll be even sharper against Siena.

If I had to give my ratings for the game, I'd give the following:

Storari - 6.5 He really didn't have any saves to make, and really had no chance with Juve's goal, as that deflection from Thiago Silva popped the ball up over him. Saved his first penalty from Iago to give Milan the shoot out. He's good cover, and seems set to start in Abbiati's absence.

Zambrotta - 6.0 Zambro had a rather average game by his standards. That means he played very well for most RBs. He did not push forward as often as he usually does, but he patrolled the right side well enough.

Nesta - 7.5 Nesta is... well, Nesta, is there much else to say?

Thiago Silva - 7.0 He defended very well. A great foil for Nesta, physical, powerful, and put away the last penalty to give Milan this much needed win. He has passion and you could see how hard he was on himself for missing a header in the second half. The deflection was harsh on him, as he showed that he truly is worthy of a Milan shirt.

Jankulovski - 6.5 Great performance by Janku, especially considering the sort of game he had against Benfica. He pushed forward well, put in good crosses, and defended better then we usually expected. It seemed that in the first half, Flamini was a bit tired, but Janku pushed forward and held his own. If he can play like this, we should have no worries for the LB position, at least for this season.

Flamini - 6.0 Flamini looked tired in the first half of this game, he seemed to do well when pushing forward, but exposed Janku sometimes. However, in the second half he was covering a lot of ground, and drove Milan forward. He clearly shielded Pirlo, but I think Flamini needs some time off, as he was not his usual all-action self.

Pirlo - 6.5 I don't think Pirlo was at his best levels today, either. He had a cracking shot from 30 yards out that smashed the underside of the crossbar, and he was unlucky that it did not go in. Some of his long-range passing was off, but, like Flamini, as the second half wore on, his passing returned to the levels that we are used to. Having him and Ronaldinho on the field really staggers the opposition's defense, if Cannavaro and Buffon were not playing like they did today, this game would have been a thumping.

Gattuso - 6.0 This was not vintage Gattuso, and it seems he has not reached the form of last season. It's obvious that he's still recovering to get to playing 100%. Regardless, his grit and passion pushed Milan on. Even if this was just a pre-season game, he motioned to the fans to cheer louder, and honestly, he seems to be the natural captain for this team, even if Ambro is supposed to be the official captain. Great hustle to the ball, he just needs to get back to "Rino fitness," but otherwise, a tireless display considering his physical condition.

Ronaldinho - 6.75 I wanted to give him a 6.5, but I gave him a little extra because he worked extremely hard for the ball. Sure, there were times that he walked, but, so did Kaka and so do all attacking players (outside of Barca). However, he battled for the ball, provided countless through balls, and setup Huntelaar with a great bit of grit and skill. He seemed to have pace, he made Felipe Melo look like a player fit for a team like Reggina, rather than Juventus. He all most won the game for Milan at the end. If Dinho can build on this performance, things are looking up.

Huntelaar - 5.75 He held up the ball well. He looked to pass the ball to others and involve onrushing midfielders into the game. He had a shot that was saved brilliantly by Buffon, but, I think he'd want that one back and try it again. He took a cross from Janku and hit it first time, on the volley. It didn't exactly trouble Buffon, but it signals that he has confidence, or at least, a lot more than he started out with. He is getting to grips with the way Italian teams play, and it shows.

Pato - 7.0 A great header from a great cross to tie the game for Milan. Sure, he did give away the ball that led to Diego's goal, but he seemed a willing runner. The important thing was that he did not let that dent his confidence, and he kept pushing forward. He still had to improve on his decision making, and I think he should be playing more as a Ronaldo (R9) type of striker, but, if he gets his decision making sorted, he is more than capable of playing as a seconda punta.

Subs:

Abate - 7.0 Great work rate, commitment, helped back in defense, assisted in the attack. His crossing was fantastic, and it was one of his pin-point crosses that gave Milan their goal. He said he wants to give Leonardo selection head aches, and he has done exactly that. I think we are seeing one of the players who will form the core of this next generation of Milan, alongside Pato, Thiago Silva, Flamini, and Huntelaar.

Inzaghi - 5.0 Maybe a bit harsh, but, I don't think this was the sort of game that Inzaghi thrives on. Milan were pushing for a very fast-paced game, and Inzaghi was forced to dribble with the ball, and that is not exactly his forte. Then again, Inzaghi has very often been in-and-out of games, only to pop up with game winners. I think if this was a regular game, Pato would have stayed on, but, regardless, Inzaghi will be critical for the future.

Borriello - 5.0 Nothing spectacular, but then again, I don't think that's what he needed today. Sure, it would've been the best possible situation, but today he showed that he can actually offer something to this team. He worked hard, but he is lacking in confidence, he did not shoot when he should have, deciding to pass the ball back instead. I think he just needs a goal to get him back on track, like all strikers do when they are off-form. Will he be here next year? Not sure, but, here's to hoping he can recover some form.

Antonini - 5.5 Nothing spectacular, and really made no mistakes either. A good shift, and shows that he will be a competent back-up to Janku. If Janku decides to start playing well again, then Antonini will be the first-choice sub for either FB spots. Though, according to Leonardo, Abate is being considered for the job.

Completly agree with Brasileiro. It was my first full pre-season game aswell, do to me traveling, and I was pleased with what I saw.

There definetly was alot of positives to take from this game, Jankulovski was excellent today in my opinion, both defensivly and offensive, I just really doubt he can keep that level off play through the entire season.

It was a shame for Thiago Silva that he got unlucky with Juve's goal, because he's honostly really a class defender, and besides that he played a great game. He's got an amazing long pass which definetly is a plus. It almost seems pointless to have Pirlo play so far back when Thiago Silva can pass just aswell, Flamini might aswell do that, although it would restrict him at what he's best at which is running, running ALOT.

I also don't know why we stand so far back sometimes with our defense, especially since Juve have Iaquinta and Trezeguet as strikers, and we have Thiago Silva in defense. We really need to have patience and move the CB's up to the middle before we start trying the killer passes. The good thing is that when finally did get our CB's to the middle and our full backs forward, the whole team was generally excellent at putting on pressure on Juventus and getting the ball back fast, once we lost the ball. This did create some good chances at times (Pirlo's shot on the crossbar as an eksampel).

I don't care what you guys say, I think he's hilarious! Berlusconi > Moratti big time! Perhaps after he's done being Prime Minister he can start coaching Milan! Remember he has coaching experience.

Remember that I said it here some time ago? Still remember Dida´s biggest fan(and Pato´s basher) to say Dunga was right, that he needs to teach some leasons to the boy, and things like that...

So, yesterday I saw a debate in a Brazilian Sports Channel, and a guy that covered Internacional(Pato´s former team) in that World Championship Club in Japan(when Inter beat Barcelona in the final) said that Dunga was a guest from Inter as a former player...and in the plane back to Brazil he asked Dunga about Pato...He said Dunga did a strange face and listed a lot of flaws in Pato´s game. As the guy said, Dunga clearly wasn´t a Pato fan. He only called Pato last year because of his Milan performs and the pressure by all Brazil media and fans.

Iremember that after one bad game at the Olimpics, he benched(and bashed at press) the boy and put Sobis there. Sobis did nothing good(like Pato), but unlike Pato, was the starter for the entire Olimpics.

He only put Pato to play in garbage time nowadays(when put)...but didn´t gave the same treatment to inferior players like Sobis, Vagner Love, Afonso Alves...these guys have plenty of games to prove themselves in Brazil NT(fail), unlike Pato.

It´s a strange thing, but Dunga appears to chose some YOUNG players as scape goats for his frustrations...as after to be the best Brazilian player at Olimpics, he just stops to call Marcelo saying in off the kid was too cocky. Also with Lucas, that was good and never receive a real chance again. Hernanes had a good game, a bad one and was benched and never called...

In Dunga´s press conference you can see he has some psychological problems, as he´s always trying to humiliate reporters for normal questions, even changing the subjects of the questions...a real annoying character.

As a Brazilian I want Pato in Brazil NT, but as Milan fan, I want this boy far, far from that crazy coach. He clearly has something against Pato personality and game...
