there was nothing about him in galliani's or riola's or rosell's interviews.

they said the deal is worth 40 mil in 3 installments. 15+15+10 i think.

if they sell him, than we did nothing with this transfer, bought a great forward but sold the only midfielder who can bring the ball to our attackers....very bad move if true...

As Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimovic ponders his move from Barcelona to Milan reports in Italy suggest he could also be followed by unsettled Brazilian star Robinho from Manchester City.


Milan are looking to land Ibrahimovic for €40 million, paid in installments over three years, according to Corriere dello Sport. The striker is said to be willing to reduced his wages to €8m over the course of a five year contract to return to Milan for the Rossoneri.


However, a deal that was first thought as an alternative to Ibrahimovic or even to compensate the loss of Ronaldinho, who is now set to stay, Brazilian star Robinho could be about to follow 'Ibra' to the San Siro.


The unsettled forward continues to look for a way out of Eastlands and the Italian media suggest that a deal might not be brokered until January. In the long term the former Real Madrid man will fill the boots of 'Dinho' if he doesn't extend his current contract.

Anyway, rumours are flying, but frankly the only one that seemed noteworthy was Ibra wants to think about his salary.

I don't believe Flamini will leave, it would be a ridiculous move and I doubt the management would ever consider it (same with the Thiago/Pirlo rumour I think I read above).

I'm also surprised so many posters think Boateng is a starter at this point. While I was a big advocate of his signing, it wasn't with him as a sure starter that I had him in mind.

I must say yes, I think you're wrong. Pato is a very versatile player, and in the past there were many arguments for him to be used leading the line of attack. I was one of the posters who argued most for him to be used there and provided numerous statistics that showed his effectiveness at the top of the attack.

Even now I think he's quite possibly best used there and his game for Brazil recently showed quite how good he could be there (he missed a lot of chances, but also lacked match sharpness).

That isn't to say it's his only option. I've always fancied the idea of giving him a free role in attack (but maybe when he's more developed).

If you think our mid will be great, fine. But last year we lost several 3 points in Serie A because our mid run out of gas. Games we scored and were winning... Even in San Siro! In C.L we were out runner even more. And this season they are one year older. Plus, just because I don't share your opinion about Boateng, doesn't mean I'm a pessimist... But I sure hope Boateng proves me wrong. We will need him to perform...

Btw, why we have a better coach now? I hope the best for Allegri, but until now(like Leo last year), he did nothing in Milan(or other big team) to be label as a sure thing. The management of a small team is a different animal than what he will face now... So, lets wait for the finish of the season before saying he's better at Milan than Leonardo.
Even more, because Allegri will need to do better than what you wrote in the quote above, since he will have a much better and(apparently) health team.

Brasileiro, i agree and disagree with you. I agree that I don't think our midfield is particularly brilliant, we have some very good players, but those who are that good are generally on the wrong side of 30. However, I do think we have potential with what we have, if we get players of Ibra or Robinho's quality.

I say this mainly because of the coach. Leonardo didn't have a huge amount to work with (Allegri's got a stronger defence, some reinforcement for midfield, youth players who are prepared to play some part in the first team squad and now looks to be getting a top forward). Because of this, Leo was forced to play a broken team. Essentially this is a team made up of two units, the defensive unit who will generally just defend (with exception to Antonini who pushed up well last season) and the attacking unit who will generally just attack (with guys like Dinho, Seedorf and Pato not dropping deep to defend).

Broken teams work ok when you rely on individuals to win you games as we did with Nesta, Thiago, Pato and Dinho last year. However, against good units, broken teams are easily beaten as they simply get overwhelmed by well organised opponents (Man Utd second leg and Inter are examples from last year, where the lack of defensive support from our attackers showed our weaknesses).

The difference this year is Allegri has clearly drilled our team to play as a compact unit. Whilst we weren't that impressive in the first half against Barca, our defensive shape was very solid and whilst creating nothing, we also gave away nothing. For our midfield, this will be of major benefit as it won't be just 2-3 men who have the responsibility to cover the defence.

I'm not saying we're a great team even if we get Ibra/Robinho. But definitely the way we're going to play this season should benefit our team structure and especially our midfield.

Ibra and binho wow that's a dream , I'll believe that when I see it.Ibra I'd say will come but will we get the decision today ??? If Ibra and binho did come now how about V.D.Vaart aswell...lol , It will be really interesting to see developements in the next day or so.And Serie A is on Setanta aswell this year so the big 6 teams Inter Milan , Juve , Milan , Fiorentina , Roma , and one of Genoa or Palermo or Napoli will always be live at some point of the WKND on Setanta or ESPN which is great news.

Galliani's response was directed at Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti, who on Thursday said that he hoped "Ibrahimovic remained at Barcelona" so that he would not join their city-rivals.

Galliani has now hit back as he waits for a response from the striker following a day of wheeling and dealing in Barcelona.

"I will invite all the Interisti to the celebrations too," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport, referring to Moratti's comments.

The pink sheet paper claims a €40 million offer for Barcelona, plus €45m in wages for Ibrahimovic over five years could push the move towards a conclusion.

Last night Ibrahimovic confirmed he wanted 24 hours to decide his future after speaking with Galliani.

Didn't know Setanta got rights for this season. Still won't get it as commentators are ****.

Have to say these comments from Galliani about inviting inertisti's to a celebration of signing a former player is distasteful and weak.

There seems to be limited video's on youtube etc for him. Thuink he can play both sides of def. Decent height and good age so one for today and tomorrow hopefully.

i think it was more of a retort to Moratti who said he hopes we fail to sign Ibra, maybe he is worried about something?
