Oddo, officially a Milan player!

YAAAAAYY!!!! Good news!!

He is a good player, but I don't like the fact that he is already 30 so thats not good .

he is gonna be 30 in about a week or so. I agree with Bosniaco - very good player but still a short term solution as there is no guarantee that he would play like Cafu once he is 32-33 and beyond.
Still, Oddo is Italian and Milan youth product so this would come in handy in the CL, and if the price is right - 5-6 mil or so - I guess we've got ourselves a good deal.

If we really have Oddo and Gallas in the next season team then we would have the followings :

1. Paolo Maldini.
2. Billy Costacurta
3. Kakha Kaladze
4. Dario Simic ? Is it true he has extend his contract with Milan?5. Alessandro Nesta
6. Marcos Cafu
7. William Gallas ? will he be coming from Chelski?
8. Massimo Oddo? Just wait for confirmation.

What a huge number for the defenders this time and may have resulted that Billy and Maldini spend most of their time in the bench??

My only concern is that why Milan do not move fast to sign Shevpounds' sub and only have one definitive signing on Foggia?
It's better let Amoroso go somewhere and get a new famous and star striker,whoever is he...whether Torres, Tevez, RVN....or the other which is maybe a surprise for not being discussed in this forum...
We do need a striker very badly and cannot depend on Gila, Pippo, Foggia and unluckily Amoroso....
IMHO...Amoroso has passed his golden time and just have a long vacation in Milan so far

It is likely that we have to wait for Papa Berlu to come on June 15th to dig the pocket deeper to be able to sign a real star from somewhere....???

If he is a short or long term solution is quite debatable, but he is a good defender and has one quality that is missing in the team: he is a very good penalty taker!
And so far I only believe in Kaká as a penalty taker in the club and I just watched him taking two of them.

See...insted spending 5 or 6 mil on Oddo we could get Zaccardo for maybe the same amount of money or a little more but much younger (he is like 25 or 26 years old)

This is some great news if its true, even though he's 30 he still has around 4-5 years left in him. He played for our youth club from 1993-95.

U forgot Marzoratti, Serginho and Favalli.. Also Marek can play LB, so thats 12 defenders

Massimo Oddo admits he’s eager for a move to Milan, where he’d hook up with Under-21 sensation Pasquale Foggia.

“Milan have always been the team I have supported and having grown up in their youth system could count in my favour when considering the future,” commented the Lazio full-back.


He has made no secret of his intention to join the Rossoneri and Vice-President Adriano Galliani this week confirmed an offer had been made, but the Capital club is trying desperately to hang on to him.


Oddo’s price-tag could rise if he impresses for Italy in Germany 2006, where he is set to replace the injured Gianluca Zambrotta in Monday’s opener against Ghana.


“I didn’t come here to be part of the furniture, but I also hope to find room in the team on my own merits rather than due to the injuries of my teammates. We have worked with great intensity in training this week and our legs are a little heavy, but this is all part of the preparation process.”


If Milan are trying to sign Oddo, then they can already count on the services of Under-21 international Foggia, who moved from Ascoli to sign a four-year contract.


“I don’t want to seem arrogant, but I do hope to impress Carlo Ancelotti in the summer training camp, prove what I can do and work my way into the team,” said the wide man.


“It was my destiny to reach San Siro. We were only a few weeks into the season and I read Zvonimir Boban’s opinion piece in the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’ saying Raffaele Palladino and I were the future of Italian football. I was surprised, but those words charged me up even more.”


Rossoneri transfer guru Ariedo Braida added today: “We really believe in Foggia and are convinced this was a bargain.”


Cagliari defender Michele Canini was with Foggia in the European Under-21 Championships, where he suffered a serious knee injury. He underwent surgery today on a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament and will be out for six months.
