A Magnificient Rsult that reminds me of Italy 4-1 win against Germany the other day.
4 goals in 2 matches from Inzaghi, BraVO!!! though Shevchenko missed his penalty on 23rd but he paid it back 2 minutes later , BraVo!! and as for Kaka, You are truly a Magnifista!! This is what we need before the match against Juve!!

I have to recognize that Inzaghi is playing superbly, and I didn't expect that by the beggining of the year.

I not sure whether we should count Arsenal as a 'better' tie - they did knock out Real! However, saying that, all Champions League matches are tough ones.

I really dont want to play Lyon though, they are reminding me of the young Ajax team of the 90's. They are consistantly destroying everything in their path and for me are the favourites.

I don't care who we draw for next round. Just hope it's not Juve or Inter 'cause I am kind of tired of watching Milan play these two so, for the sake of variaty would love to get barca or Arsenal or Lyon. Wouldn't mind Benfica or Villarreal either.
I honestly don't see why we should be scared of any team. Actually, I would love to play a favourite right now as Milan is going through a very positive moment and we don't know what things will be like a month or two from now. Plus, if Barca is so strong that some people are scared of them, that means that, should we make it through, in one of the later stages we will have to play them anyway. What's the dif whether they will kick our ass in the 1/4 or the 1/2-finals? And if they don't make it that far, well then I guess they weren't so scary after all, right? Same goes for Lyon or any other CL title candidate. Last edited by zlatanov; 08-03-2006 at 17:16. |

OK, now that I'm not as excited and have settled down from my extreme happiness, I haves some points to make:
Obviously Pippo played excellent. He is having the best spell in a very long time. I can't wait to see the replay of this game. Personally the team I want to draw least is Lyon. They destroyed PSV, and I think if we underrate them they will do the same to us. We have to take them as seriously as Barca, if we do draw them. But then again, any team can do that much damage. But if we retain our current form, I think we are able to advance into the semis and beyond. |

we have to keep Vogel in. We were far more solid because we kept our shape, Gattuso really hasn't the foggiest idea about shape, he just runs to where the ball is. OK, we lose someone willing to track back and take out players, but we didn't need to do that this game because our shape was just perfect. Bayern in my opinion through it away brining on Ze Roberto, he's class, but after that they were all over the place.
Big, big, BIG, shout outs to Inzaghi for just always finding the goal, stam for attacking and defending hard (maybe another reason why Gattuso was not missed) sheva and kaka for being class and man of the match (in my opinion) Serginho for just rendering bayerns entire right side limp by constantly charging at the them with pace and skill down the left.

I just read some ACM game's commentary at gazeta.ru
http://sport.gazeta.ru/sport/2006/03/a_558855.shtml (in russian) the commentator said that "after Andrey missed the PK, madly excited Khan started to shout something right into Sheva's ear. Khan has to be sorry he did that now, Sheva probably got pissed and scored right away with a header." Did someone see this Khan's shouting? Is this true or made up? Thanks, |

That's what I read on channel4 about the incident:
Shevchenko missed a penalty in the first half and goalkeeper Kahn was seen shouting taunts in his ear, but the Ukrainian responded with a goal just over a minute later. “I didn’t pay attention to what he said, but it wasn’t a nice thing to do for a German legend,” said the hitman. “We gave all our answers on the pitch, so Kahn can say all he likes, but he lost 4-1". |

I think Milan played an excellent game, but it started from before the teams even went into the dressing room. It started when Carlo picked his 11. I credit Carlo Ancelotti big time for his team selection...its not rocket science to pick this Milan starting 11...or is it? Well whatever, he got it spot on.
Serghino was devastating, both in defense (where he made almost no mistakes...at least none that I remember) and even moreso in attack. Pin point cross for the first goal to Pippo, who read it from back in Milanello... Seedorf started shaky, but got into the game well...should have scored, or set up..(Kaka?) someone for the 5th, but took it himself, but he was in front of the goal, and it was his craft that set up his shot..so I dont blame him. Good work tackling back, and giving up annoying fouls to Bayern, usually in their own half. Though we definately played as a team today, from start to finish (except when Sheva let Ishmael run past him to tap in their only goal on the night) I must single out Kaladze for an excellent, unpreturbed, almost error free game. Nesta was his usual brilliant self, while Stam played well at RB, sending over a delicious cross for Sheva´s goal. Dida was unlucky that the young German prodigy hit his shot so hard that it almost made an "S" curve in the air, but foolish not to fist the ball away...but had some excellent saves on the night, which prevented an important second away goal. Sheva was excellent, and Pippo razor sharp. Magath got it wrong, and failed to single out Pirlo, who made a mess of the Bayern back 4, pulling all the strings for Milan. Vogel..wow! This is the man who surely will take Gattuso´s place more often..a capable deputy, if not a starter after this display. Hard tackles, and precise passing, and his one missplaced pass on the night is much better return on my investment than the 4 or 5 that Rino is sure to give up...(but this is a celebratory post, and I wont hit at Rino anymore). Kaka had a super game, capped off by his thunderstrike from just inside the 18...fabulous shot, that Kahn the Caveman could only put a hand to, but couldnt stop. Ancelotti also got it right with his subs, bringing on Ambrosini in a show of confidence in the Italian, which warmed my heart...and Max could have scored, but unselfishly tried to "T" it up for Gila to break his UCL duck, but headed it agonizingly behind the young forward...and the chance went begging. This performance will send shockwaves through the rest of Europe, and I am sure they will be felt in Turin as well. On the other results: Liverpool are deservedly out, though I wanted to have the pleasure of seeing Milan do those honours. Real´s soon to be out coach wilted under board pressure (IMO) and fielded an unfit Raul from the start, a Zidane who was out run by the young Arsenal midfield in the first leg, and los galacticos managed only one shot on goal for the first half. Cassano clearly should have started, but...hey, I wouldnt mind Arsenal in the next leg. We have the class and strength to overwhelm them... PSV are out after a thrashing from Lyon, who along with Barca, I prefer to meet further down in the competition. FORZA MIIIIIIIIIIIILAN...now bring on the zebras!
