In Italy during 1982 summer, after the first matches, there was probably the same negativism about Italian NT. Who could believe we could have become World Champions against so many great teams? Those were actually great teams, France had Platini, Brazil had Zico, Argies had Maradona, Polish had Boniek.

But we became WC champions. Now i say, don't desperate about CL, we must go through, then we'll have some months to focus on Scudetto race.
I don't think we'll win the scudetto, but we have a chance for the cl. We're too unconsistent for the scudetto, and Capello is the greatest coach for Italian titles Serie A has ever seen. But we can have our say in CL.

Just like Italy in 1982, just like Liverpool last year, when you think you will never make it, the guys may find a chain of great and inspired games. 2002-03 team was worse than the 03/04 and 04/05 from many aspects, but we won the CL. So let's get rid of Shalke and show the balls. I don't deny we must solve many problems. But it's too early to make a balance on our season.

for those of u who want schalke to beat milan and hope that milan will learn some lessons and wake up should probably give up this idea because as long as the arrogance is there, they will never learn. they lost vs depor, and one year later they lost vs liverpool, which show they just never learn! lets face it, istanbul effect will be there forever because it is the the worst defeat in the history of football, how can a team throw away 3 goals lead in CL final??? this is CL final not coppa italia final!

my proposals to erase the arrogance are: first: apply salary caps, so only players that love milan and proud to be milanisti and decent players play for the club, stam is clearly not a milan fan, he plays for milan just for money!, second: dont buy too many star players, it causes egoism!

bring on donadoni, vanbasten or tassotti!

And is it true that our Abbiati saved Juve again in several occassions?[/quote]

When this season start, My fren who is a Juve fren curiously asked me" why is Milan borrowed Abbiati to Juve" I simply answer because it is Kaka whom cause Buffon injury and Milan want to show sportmanship and offered the help.I am so proud to be a milan fan with one of the reason above. Remember, we even get a congratulation letter from UEFA council for displayng a good attitude when we lose to Liverpool in CL final???

I saw few of juve matches and i did saw that abbiati played well.On the night they lose to Milan in serial a this season it is Clememte who played and he played terribley. For me abbiati really helped Juve a lot....No regret !!!

We cant blame him anyway for playing so good.we cant also always hope others to lose when we ourself player can win .

As a milan fan, I believe we all want the best for milan. Some of us do suggested it is time to change the coach with new idea and new player comming. We surely dont want to be like Madrid...there were many big name but not wonderful result. We do miss / like big name. But sometimes it time for a change. There were famous player like Cafu,Maldini & Stam. But i believe they all already passed they best. I tooo like Cafu, maldini and Stam very much..It IS Milan Success more important OR the we want many star player but no wonderful result?? Just ask Madrid Fan.

i too were so upset when Milan lose again.Even more irretating when saw my fren whose support Juve so happy and told me how JUVE won.....But i do believe we can still perform well in champion league.Just as Liverpool last season. They placed 5th in EPL but were the european champion.few years back there always the unexpected winner who won the champion league. It can be a big hope for us starting with a first step start with Schalke since we played bad in Serial A.

But there is always hope and there will always up and down.We all love Milan and i even cant sleep few night back to think of wat happen to Milan...truly....just hope that tomorrow will be a better day...

As always...ForZa MIlan!!!

Don lose hope, lads, so early. Last year we were behind juve by 8 points twice, though we managed to recover. It is still long way to go, 5 months and a half. I still have faith in rossoneri, they are too strong not win this year. And I bet we shall show our power to our cousins first.

Forza Milan

it's different this year though. Juve are a far better team than last year, really consistent, they can win with style and, when they need to, with pure hard work. The margin for error is much smaller, add this to the fact they have already achieved results against roma, inter and fiorentina when we have still to play two of those having been beaten by one plus our next game against them is away from home.

we have to adopt a very professional attitude, a siege mentality to come back from this. there are quite afew rumours we will bring in players in january, personally I think we should wait and see how we stand before doing this. If we're more than the 8 points behind, I wouldn't bother, the league will be gone better to try and work out better deals for us in summer than try and desperation buy some quick fixes.

I saw the game, and much to my dismay, I saw a Milan that had no ideas, no creativity, no aggression, and a low will to win. Whose fault is this? Before I start to sound like the majority of Ancelotti bashers here, let me say this:

He got the team selection right, although forced into starting Marek becuase of Clarence having to return home for family reasons.

I only had an issue with Stam being on the right, but, decided to give Carlo the benefit of the doubt....as Cafu was obviously not fit.

We started the game well, but I was in no way happy about the movement of the forwards, or our overall passing. Then we scored, and, in a way, we were lucky, though Kaladze really did well to regain his feet, keep his composure, and score from the rebound.

Then, we went missing...mentally at any rate. Completely. We did nothing, especially after Sheva missed a sitter...a goal my 12 year old could score..but, even the great ones miss sometimes...that for me, was the sign that we would be lucky to get a draw...then the equaliser....again, from a set piece....whats new? Kaladze didnt mark his man properly, and.....1-1 at the half.

Second half, as NAMMY I believe said, we decided to forget that we had,(at least on paper) a world class midfield, and began sending long balls a la the EPL to the forwards. This for me was a further indication that we had lost the plot. Then I saw the subs warming up, and thought..."Ok, Vogel, Pippo and Kaka...all warming up...then recalled that Maldini was off...so only two could feature...this is where Carlo had an opportunity to rekindle our chances.

Kaka for Ru..no issue there...the Portugese star was waaaay below his best, and obviously, after being rusty, should have been replaced earlier, after his first 90 minute game in a while in the Italian Cup.

Then...to my dismay, Sheva comes off, and while I love Pippo, playing him and Gila together is not the right answer....I think Gila should have come off for Pippo, as he wasnt having a better game than Sheva, even with Sheva´s glaring miss...

So now, cue a few deft touches from Kaka, and the Brazilian magic creates some space, but Marek´s cross, then another from Kaladze, are both poor.

This is followed by more long balls, and me leaving the house in a huff once they scored...so in truth, I only saw Pippo´s half chance from the ESPN highlights. Iwas sooooo pissed, and still am...to an extent.

I am gradually coming to realise that my stance this pre-season was correct, that we will not win silverware this season, and if we do, lady luck will play an immense role. It is still too early to write off the scudetto, but if Juve keeps 80% of their current form into the next half of the term, we will still trail them by 3 or so points, and this with us doing the highly unlikely by winning every match we play from now on.

Carrying this loss into another "must win" game in the CL is devastating to morale, but may serve as a wake up call to the team, as this competition, IMO remains our best hope of silverware this season, though to be honest, I doubt now that we can beat a Barca or a Chelsea when we are so inconsistent from game to game.

Anyway, FORZA MIIIILAN!!!...oh, and in case you think I forgot...all players...bar none, got a 5.5 in ratings, followed by a 5 for the coach.

And to answer the question asked above as to whose fault:

Everybody..from players, to coach, to managment who decided that we would spend the majority of our transfer budget to aquire a forward, and not reinforcing our geriatric back line.

we began the season with so much optimism, although all is not lost, our results so far dosen really justify the vast amounts of money we have spent during the close season.

who can we blame? everyone... everyone has a part to play when a team dosen perform well. Look at chelsea, players like john terry and frank lampard represent the very essence of professionlism...game in game out, they are there and play with so much determination and grit.

GRIT...like the sort of attitude we displayed against juve just a couple of weeks ago. Maybe to sum it up, to be honest, i imagine milan to be an expensive crystal swan...nice to look at, graceful..but at the same time, fragile.

We used to boast abt a solid defence even as little as a year ago, remember fergie praising cafu as having 2 hearts? Unfortunately, this is also our archille's heel nowadays. Our defence is ancient, maybe its the 9th wonder of the world after the original 7 wonders and WWE's chyna..

Who can beat milan? Ask any good tactician out there and they can easily tell u the answer.. "stretch 'em down the wings" "pack the middle of the park" "dig at their delicate heels" "stare them down the eyes"..

u get my idea? milan is getting too beatable..and it does not bode well. Games we are supposed to win without a sweat, we get ourselves into trouble by conceding early..

the ghost of istanbul might be forgotten.. but it would never be vanquished..

The Guardians take on last Sunday´s game, and their thoughts re our manager´s immediate future:

http://football.guardian.co.uk/conti...660185,00.html

Quote:
The Old Lady is still Queen of the Jungle then, topically enough, and as La Repubblica put it on Monday, "they've already put the deposit on next title" - because while Juve were winning in Florence, closest challengers Milan were contriving to lose away to Chievo. Now Chievo are no pushovers; under manager Bepi Pillon they're unbeaten in 10 games now, earning comparisons with the extraordinary Flying Donkeys side of 2001-02, and both Chievo goals were brilliantly executed efforts worthy of any highlights reel. Still, you can't escape the feeling that had Juventus been playing this game, they'd have left no points behind.

Milan instead showed all their usual flaws: wastefulness (Andriy Shevchenko squandered an even bigger sitter than his Istanbul miss), a lack of urgency and a chronic lack of fresh legs at the back. Once Paolo Maldini hobbled off at half-time to take care of his knees, Alessandro Nesta and Jaap Stam looked lost, and the image of Nesta vainly chasing after Simone Tiribocchi after a brilliant one-two set up Chievo's winner speaks volumes of this once-proud backline.

While Chievo climb to sixth, behind the equally surprising Livorno, the only thing that Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti must be putting a deposit on is his trousers - eight points off the lead, he now has the much derided Internazionale just two points behind him and threatening to take over the title of top Milanese club when the two sides meet this coming weekend. No wonder the rumours about his future are starting once more (approposito; how long before Livorno's Roberto Donadoni gets touted as a replacement? Donadoni is another Milan veteran, and his bargain basement side are still up in fifth, only six points behind the rossoneri).

There's no question Ancelotti could do with pinching La Signora's 'arse' this time - whoever wins in Sunday's derby (shameless plug alert: it's live on Bravo) will almost certainly knock their neighbours out of the title race for good. It should be a spectacular affair, with four world cup favourites in the starting line-ups (Brazil's Adriano, Dida, Cafu and Kaká) and plenty of pressure on both sides.
I hate reading articles of this nature...its really depressing.......but honestly, Juve look uncatchable at this point...

There is just too many games yet to be played to say the scudetto belongs to this or that team. Don't get depressed, Warro, it's just the usual journalistic crap people fill their newspapers most of the time.

Yeah, that's right. I watched cnn sports news today and talking about our chances tonight they said: "Milan lost 2 out of their last 3 Serie A games "
They could have said for example: Milan didn't lose a single match in the San Siro this season (in Serie A, CL) But it wouldn't have sounded that good for them.....and if we have a good game tonight then we will be the best team in the world!
I'm fed up with journalists!!!!
