And when one of our players makes such a bad performance, I'm actually sad for him, but also for us as a club, because, as far as I know again, he is a Milan player and this kind of bad day won't help this player to be useful in the coming days (I think we can't expect him to be a starter in the next few games, even as a LB).
Fair points. It's the managements insistence on keeping these players (maybe not so much with Oddo) that's hurting us. If we really lost the so called "deadweight", or at least a decent amount of it rather than just Kalac and actually brought in some fresh players, we wouldn't be in this situation right now. Instead, we're stuck in this rut until these mega contracts finally run out in many cases.

I'm also very upset when our players perform badly on International duty. It's bad for the club, both in image and in terms of the mental damage it can do.

Kaladze cannot play LB right now. Instead we must look at other solutions. Imo we should at least see Abate in RB and maybe give Albertazzi a chance. Maybe Albertazzi won't offer a lot going forward, but at least he can maybe be more solid than what we've got right now.

I can catch Brasilian football pretty oftenly in here, mostly in replays during the day in here of course. So I've seen Corinthians play and I've also seen Internacional ( those two teams are oftenly on that sport channel that shows Brasilian football, tv shows about it etc. Only bad thing is that the channel is on HUNGARIAN language!! And if there is a language that is impossible to catch unless you have studied it then its hungarian! ).
Yep, the hour of the games are hard to catch in Europe... But since you can get the replays, it´s always worth(imo) to watch Internacional playing.

I have to say that I've noticed DM from Corinthians and Giuliano for Internacional. But the games I saw with them were near the end so I just saw like half an hour of both players. To me the Corintihans DM showed extreme capacity for even more progress and showed extreme talent ( by looking at just the talent and capacity of the player he reminded me of young Kaka', when I watched him and said " this player can learn whatever you show him..." ). MAybe Im wrong but he looked like that. A bit raw still, but power and technique are there.
I can see what you´re saying, Jucilei is a long strider(with skills), and in that way he reminds me Kaka. But his future imo belongs to DM position. It´s more easy to find offensive mids here, and thanks to academy coaches, it´hard to find a DM with great skills(in Europe is more easy).

As you could see(and said), Jucilei has it all. Very hard to find it here in Brazil. We have severals(as we say here) segundo-volante(a DM with more freedon to attack), but a #5, with quality to organize the game is rare to find... Strange, since it was a position that was always loaded here in the past.

Giuliano I didnt saw much in that gane, few class touches was all I saw so I cant comment.
Giuliano caught my eyes in Brazil under-20 NT, and he will play in the next under-20 world Cup in the final of september(probaly astarter) and it will be a great chance to watch him. Yesterday Internacional played against Avaí. So, if the Ungarian channel show the replay, it will be a good chance to watch him. He played with #8 yesterday, and it is a good chance to watch him doing different things since Internacional was with less 2 mans.

It is really hard for a European to watch Brasilian football and actually find a great player in there. It is a completely different football world and you need to have an excellent eye to know what are you actually looking for. Becouse dribblings and running is everywhere, but that isnt just what scouts are looking for...
I get your point and agree. I still remember in that under-20 NT that Pato was playing, most of Europeans that I was talking were marveled by Leandro Lima. They call me crazy(in a good way) when I said that incredible skilled boy would be a bust in Europe... Skills were realy impressive(he scored also), but it was only this...there was no substance. And even in Portugal, were they like this type of player(Quaresma), Leandro Lima couldn´t get time...

As you said, "dribblings and running is everywhere", and since these type of thing are sometimes great to watch, you can be easily fooled by a player. Do you want to know a different, but good example of it? Kerlon...

Talking with people around the world, they only talked about "the seal dribble", to bash or to praise the boy... I always said it was the less impressive part of his game. Kerlon was so amazing in Brazil under-20 NT, that a player like Anderson(that some months later would be chosen the MVP of under-20 World Cup) was outplayed in every way(even playinga amazing) at South American Championship.

That lead to another point: How a coach decision can help or ruin a player. Alex Fergusson(great coach) is killing a amazing talent. He´s showing how you can turn a amazing offensive mid into a average CM or DM. Anderson can´t even shoot more... It was one of his best abilities.

But the players also need to be blamed, because(maybe I´m wrong) for any one watching EPL knows they rarely uses a AMD. It´s a question of concept and way to see football... Juventus change it this year with Diego(playing like us in the gold but near past with Kaka, Sheva and Pippo), and imo the team is much more competitive. I can´t stand coaches that didn´t like a AMD(maybe because I was one), even when they have one great on the squad.

But the post is too big for another point to debate

Quote:
Brasil's perfermance vs Argentina was simply terrifying to watch becouse there is a feeling that teams are simply unable to defend vs Brasil. Robinho, Kaka' and Fabiano(!!!) are creating so much space for eachother that practically Brasil needs 3,4 players in attacking phase to score vs big teams. We could have seen Milan of KAka'-Pato( a player that is already impossible to mark by ANYONE )-Fabiano... (Brasil uses Robinho deeped then Pato can play right now, he does a good job in there with his technique). Also BRasil showed that their defence is now perfect, and with players like MArcelo, Alex, Thiago, Alves who are not in the starting 11. Actually: Doni, Alves, Thiago, Alex, Marcelo, Motta, Hernanes, Mancini, Dinho ( hehe ), Pato, Amauri ( the idiot is thinking to play for Brasil or not! ), DIEGO, Anderson etc are all not in first 11. Some not in first 18. Remarcable...
Yep, I watched the game with my father. It´s always a amazing feeling to win against our hermanos(the reciprocal is the same)... Even more after all the trash talk that Maradona, Messi and Tevez did against Brazil..

But at the same time(and I talked about it with my dad), I feel a little sad to watch what it could have been our Milan this year. One more time Luis Fabiano showed he´s a guy for the big stage(and club) and Berlusconi will regreat to not have give Leonardo the CF he wanted.

it´s unbelievble people still doubt this guy. In his first season as a fully starter he scored more than Torres ever did in a season in Spain. In champions it was 7 goals in 8 matchs. With Brazil, if I´m not wrong, his goal average is better than of Ronaldo, Romário and Pelé. As a Săo paulo player also.

But, as you can still hear that Brazil don´t produces defenders(there was a guy from England saying it here a few months ago), I can see how people can´t give credit for a guy that play for Sevilla. Pure prejudice...

Also, since he always plays better at the big stage(finals, big games), can´t wait for him playing his first(and last) World Cup... O Fabuloso will score at will!!!

Not so fast, my friend!
There are several players in Brazil NT I really don´t want to see in Milan...Elano, Gilberto Silva, J. Baptista... and the list goes on.

But one thing is for sure, a team can come here and to buy a spine of a team(3 or 4 players) with little money...easily.

The point is that Brazil has one player in Top 5 for each position or almost:
- GK: Julio Cesar is now as good as Buffon (because Julio Cesar still improves when Buffon won't improve anymore)
- CD: There is a long list of very good CDs, from Alex to Juan without forgetting Lucio (even if I don't like him) ans some other players
- RB: Maicon and Dani Alves are the best two players for that position in the world
- LB: Maybe Marcelo and some other players are good too, but it's hard to do a Top 5 for this position as WC LBs seem not to exist anymore, at least for moment ...

I don't do the other positions, you can already find some of the best defensive players in Brazil, but of course, Brazil is still a country producing amazing talents for the attacking positions ...

And I know it is sad to see Kaka' and Fabiano for example playing so great in NT and more importantly, seeing they understand each other very well like if they were team-mates in club, of course, it is sad as they could have played together in Milan, and instead of that, we have none of them, but we can't look in the past all the time, and maybe this Pato-Huntelaar association will be amazing (I don't talk about Ronaldinho until he can do more than 3-4 good games in a row, not great, at least good games).

Watching Kaka play so good for Brasil was a bit hard , but watching him play for Merda was like watching my girlfriend going away with another guy. It really was painful even though at the time I was not that p1ssed off actually I felt worse when Sheva left. But if some reasonable amount of money gets invested and there is faith shown in Leo (if he dosn't fail but his tools are bad) and he gets a few players in January and again in the summer maybe it won't be so bad. Its amazing how I keep thinking if this or that happens we will be okay. I think that we will have to have as miserable a winter and summer mercato before I really believe that we won't reach the top again. Because as much a Berlu is an idiot and an ecotistical self serving maniac I do think that he loves Milan , and loves being the owner of the best football team around. So I think he'll either sell up or spend some money rather than leave Milan fade into mediocrity.....I think.

curently Elano or Baptista could do us good, because we desperately need options...

Milan beat Madrid 2-0 today. If i bet that Milan team could give the current milan team a hard time, if they were to play each other.

Brasiliero, I see you mentioned Giuliano there. I brought him up on R&B. I Saw an inter game a few weeks ago, and i see they are doing well...

They seem to have 3 talented youngsters, all of whom i wouldnt be surprised if milan pursued.. Giuliano, Sandro and MArquinhos. What are your opinions on them???

Giuliano particularly intrigues me just cause i think we are lacking a true AM (well since seedorf is on downside of his career and we lost gourcuff. Would have loved us to get diego but oh well..). It seems douglas costa has faded, are there any other ones who have shown real potential?

Ha ha, let's field the same Milan team (as last night) in the CL game VS Madrid, with Baresi as our captain. That ought to surprise them!

It will be interesting if Milan have a starting 11 of Brazil players.
Gomes
Rafinha-T. Silva-D. Luiz-Marcelo
Hernanez-Jucleili(trust the words of Brasilerio)
Diego-Kaka
Pato-Luis

Bench: Melo, Amuari, Adraino, Breno, Elano, Rafeal and Fabiano

I dont want a team like that!!
my god no, Milan is an ITALIAN team! we should always look for italians first IMO.

there are many good italians who can be an upgrade for our team. sad thing is our management only looks for foreigners...

G.Rossi, Cassano, D'Agostino, Criscito, Santacroce, Giovinco, Cigarini, Paloschi, Marchetti
I hope we can score a few of them.

The thing is, there is not a lot of exciting Italians.
Beside:
G. Rossi, Chellini, Santacroce, Santon, Balotelli, Givinco, and Abate.

Marco van Basten Warns Milan: No Money, No Titles
The Dutch legend is afraid Leonardo can only take the Rossoneri so far but insists Huntelaar will come good...

Marco van Basten returned to the Stadio San Siro last night as a selection of former Milan stars defeated the Real Madrid ‘veterans’ 2-0 in a charity match played in honour of Stefano Borgonovo, who is suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

And van Basten could not shy away from commenting on the Diavoli’s poor start to the season and the difficulties that could lie ahead for new boss Leonardo.

“I must admit to being surprised by [Milan owner Silvio] Berlusconi’s policy,” he is quoted as saying in the Corriere dello Sport.

“I remember that Milan ruled the market twenty years ago. The truth is that if you don’t buy, improving the squad becomes difficult.

“If the club does not go back to spending, it’s hard to be competitive.”

Van Basten resigned his post as Ajax coach in May and many observers believe he is destined to lead the Rossoneri sometime in the future.

“I don’t know how to answer that at the moment,” he smiled.

“I don’t know what will happen in the future. But, if Leonardo will not win, it won’t be his fault.”

Milan have been conspicuously sluggish in the transfer market this summer, but did sign Dutch international striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar from Real Madrid., a move that his fellow countryman said would prove to be a success.

“He has always scored and I believe, and hope, he will do plenty here too,” said van Basten.

“After all, he is exactly what Milan need.”
