Kaka signs new Milan deal
Real Madrid have failed in their bid to net Kaka after the playmaker signed a contract extension with Milan. The Brazilian sensation was being heavily linked with a switch to the Spanish giants who are now dealing with life after Zinedine Zidane. The Rossoneri had already warned the Liga outfit to stay away from their prodigy and they have taken an even tighter grip of their star man. Vice-President Adriano Galliani did suggest earlier this week that Kaka would be handed a fresh Rossoneri deal and that has coincided with reality. The former Sao Paulo ace, poached from under the noses of Chelsea, has now agreed to extend his Milan marriage until June 2011. “I’ve signed a renewal,” stated the 2006 World Cup player. “That way, all of these Real Madrid rumours will not be spoken about anymore.” Kaka, now the club’s leading light after the sale of Andriy Shevchenko to Chelsea, is arguably the outfit’s most valuable asset - channel4.com ! - |

Kaka isn't leaving.. he says he would really love to live in Milan.
KAKA': ‘I am happy to remain with Milan’ 24/06/2006 BERGISCH GLADBACH – Ricardo Kakŕ affirmed his allegiance to Milan once again before afternoon training with the Brazil national side: ‘I am happy to remain with Milan and that’s why I decided to extend my contract until 2011. As I’ve said before, I like to live in Milan so that weighed in as well.’ www.acmilan.com |

Hi,
Congratulations AC Milan. You have done a great job in securing the future of our beloved club. Extending the contract of Kaka was the work of a genius. It shows us, the fans that you have the ambition that we so sorely desire. Kaka is our most prized asset. Kaka I also take my hat off to you. You have shown great faith in the club and a desire for the club that we all share. It in the mix of darkness following the Italian scandal and the temptation of that blood sucking football club, Real Madrid, you have shown that AC Milan is still the best club in the world. The $1,000,000? Where does Milan go from here? Before you know where you are going you must understand where you came from. By that I mean, Milan are I believe at the forefront of change. Milan have sold Sheva to Chelsea fro $30 million. Sheva was such in important factor of who Milan was. When opponent coaches would think tactics and game plans before playing against our great beloved club, they would sit down with the technical staff and agree on how to stop Milan. Most would say, stop Sheva stop Milan. Well that’s where things have now changed. Milan no longer have Sheva so therefore Milan will now need to create a new identity for itself and place doubts in opponents minds. This is where the summer transfer market will be so vital in creating the Milan of the future. The new identity for Milan. Galliani and Berlusconi have to sit down and plan what direction they see taking this great club. They need to sit down and plan what areas we really need to reinforce. Now I believe that Milan should first and foremost think about freshening up the midfield cause games are won and lost in midfield battles. At the moment we are blessed in having Kaka and the technically gifted Pirlo. What the Berlusconi and Co need plan is how to best exploit Kaka and Pirlo’s gifts, which is playmaking. In order to give these two the freedom they desire, Milan need to add some bit to the midfield. By that I mean players who have good defensive qualities but yet and push forward to support the attacks. Milan then need to look at what they are going to do upfront with Gila. Who is going to support him? I believe we need a new striker. Someone with good technique and good speed. One of Milan biggest problems last season was due to the fact that they were slow. All their builds are slow, everything was slow. Someone like Torres or Tevez would give Milan a different look upfront. Defensively Milan need to look at a left, right and central. Cafu is not getting any younger and a replacement for him is need. Maybe Alves. Is young and have loads of potential. At left back, Zambrotta, if Juventus get relegated. In the heart of our defence we need someone for the future. Gallas, Chivu, Mexes. Don’t get me wrong, Kaladze did a great job last season but will he live up to playing at the same level? These are things Milan needs to focus on. Please share your thoughts. |

Welcome ACMilan4Eva and a decent post with some interesting points. I agree about us entering a period of transition in the club as well as needing a supporting forward for Gila.
I'm still undecided whether we necessarily need someone new in the midfield, but am certain some aspects of it need to change to allow Pirlo more freedom and less responsibility. In defence, well, its necessary to build from the old defence, but realistically, I doubt we'll change too much tbh (maybe bringing in one or two new faces). |
