diarra would be an excellent signing. He is pretty young, tough, and it seems all the bigs of europe have been after him. A better version of Chelsea's Mikael Essien. I am sure if he does sign, Ancelotti will find a way to utilize his talents.
On another note, I know this is a diarra forum, but this morning on calciomercato, the main header stated that milan is willing to make a 100 million euro offer to Barca for Ronaldinho. They are relaying the news from corriere dello sport, which states that milan wants dinho and will make a 100 mill offer and kaka actually may be included in the deal. I like kaka, but though he has pledged his future to milan, why haven't the rumors to him going to madrid died down??? If Kaka does leave, there is nobody better to replace him than Ronaldinho, the true phenomenon!!! I know it is improbable, but one can dream.

mods, can this thread be merged into the 'Transfers after CL returning' thread as Diarra and Ronaldinho are already being discussed there.

40 million euros for Ibrahimovich ... or £28 million ... You're talking a similar price to what we let Shevchenko go for, which is a joke.

I would not put this Ronaldinho bid past Berlusconi, he is crazy enough to do something like this and he (and most of the Milan officials) have always kept tabs on Ronaldinho. But Barca wouldn't sell, i'd be very surprised if they did.

Juve seems to have set an asking price of 40 mil euros for Ibra, Milan are not offering it. The last rumours were that we offered 40 mil for both Buffon and Ibra, which means we value Ibra at around 15-20 mil.
Inter also reportedly offered 25 mil for Ibra (15 mil) and Vieira (10 mil).
If Juve want 40 mil for Ibra, this means we are gonna be looking elsewhere as this is a ridiculous price for him.

As for Ronaldinho, to lose Kaka over him is a mistake I am sure our board would never do on a sober head. If he comes as Silvio's next toy, I guess I won't mind but I am sure there are better ways to invest 100 mil in building a team - Ribery plays in a similar position and looks very promising - rather than buy yourself a bunch of useless tricks and disballance the team.

I can only hope that we wouldn't be foolish enough to blow this kind of insane money on 1 player WITHOUT getting strong reinforcements first. 100 million could help buy us Buffon, Pasquale, Gallas (or an equivalent), Miguel/Reveillere/Oddo, Diarra, Tevez, Suazo ...

OK, I merged the thread on Diarra with this one. Hope there isn't any confusion but the same things were already being discussed in this thread
Thanks Jim ... if someone complains, I will redirect them to you

I wouldn't mind Ronaldinho coming to Milan.
But , it's Kaka' always playing in the shadow of Ronaldinho and always doing the work.
I wouldn't rate him any higher than Kaka' , the only thing Ronaldinho is better at is doing some tricks.

If the management is doing something like this , it IMO means that Kaka' wants out.
They also know that Kaka' is as good as Ronaldinho.
And we all know , lately , that Milan turns around every penny before spending it , so why throw away 50milion euros unless Kaka' wants to leave?

We could use that money better.

Diarra seems fantastic !
I think we are going to sign him.
Is there any chance of throwing Vogel in this deal to lower the price tag?

Zlatanov ... i'll just say ...

Thrust, i wrote exactly the same thing about Diarra on another page. The lowest price seems to be £17 million, if we add Vogel to sweeten the deal i think we could get him for around £15 million.

I dreamt we signed Diarra last night, hopefully it will come true.

Diarra imo would be a fantastic signing if we were to get him. Him and Gattuso in the midfield to protect Pirlo, with Diarra or Gattuso pressing forward if given the opportunity would be like a dream.

As for Ronaldinho, if you offered him a month ago, I would have jumped at the chance. Right now, I'm wary of the signing, as firstly, to consider selling Kaka to get him seems pointless (especially as Kaka imo is already at Ronaldinho's level as a footballer and someone who I expect to surpass him soon). Secondly, our team is very close to being of an almost perfect balance. With the hope of using Ambro more, or maybe even getting Diarra, we'll have the physical presence in the midfield (Diarra), with determination (Rino), the creative force (Pirlo) and the dribbling and pace as we move further forward (Kaka), and coming off the bench, we have creativity, pace and wide men (Foggia, Gourcuff, possibly Seedorf depending on purchases, Janku).

Now Bringing in Ronaldinho isn't all bad, as either him or Kaka can play as a supporting forward and so we'd be very strong up front, but defensively it gives us a greater problem, as neither like to ever really do any defensive work (this was clearly seen in the Brazil side at the World Cup, where the attacking players would never defend). Ideally, we need our supporting forward to whoever is up front (mostly likely Gila) to support defensively, so that whoever plays in the attacking midfield role (currently occupied by Kaka) can return to a defensive position and sure up the midfield structure on the oncoming attack. Without this support from the supporting forward, the opposition will be able to launch quick counter attacks and we'd be hit on the break often (similar to last season). This is why I have been praying for Tevez, as he's a more natural forward than Kaka and Ronaldinho, but his work ethic on the field is superb, as he often chases back when he needs to, which is an element that Torres doesn't provide either. Up till now, we've had Sheva who was similar to Torres, Ronnie and Kaka in that he doesn't chase back much, and we've adapted the team around him to try and make do without this defensive element. Right now, we have an opportunity to solve the problem without having to adapt around a player, which would be the case with Ronaldinho.

Having Ronaldinho would surely mean playing the christmas tree formation as injuries or suspensions aside, we would play both Ronaldinho and Kaka behind Gilardino. In that respect that would leave alot of pressure on Gilardino to score the goals. Is that something we'd want ? If Gilardino was injured then we'd have to rely on Inzaghi to still knock them in. Our striking options would be stretched to say the least.

As much as i want Ronaldinho here, Tevez is the better option in terms of his work rate (pointed out by Dev) and his goal scoring capability. Not to mention he'd be alot cheaper.

With all the talk of Kaka going to Madrid and the recent quote of us saying we'd do all we can to help Barca, i can't see us realistically bidding for Ronaldinho (and Barca accepting) unless Kaka is part of the deal to go to the Nou Camp.

Who'd have thought that most of us would be a little cautious of getting Ronaldinho ?

Most of us are only cautious of getting Ronaldinho because Kaka is involved in the deal,,, and no one wants Kaka to leave...

Signing Ronaldinho for 100 million would be total madness. Think of all the great players we could get for that amount, Torres, Diarra, Gallas AND Buffon! I think those 4 would be more worth to our team than 1 Ronaldinho.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure Barcelona wouldn't want to sell him, just like Milan don't want to sell Kaka.

I don't understand why we should be selling Kaká to have the money for Ronaldinho...we already have 50 mil euro from Shevas sale..
we are one of the biggest teams in the world so we gotta spend some cash every summer to strenghten our squad... if we sell Kaká to get Ronaldinho we wouldnt be spending anything.... we would just use the money we got from selling to buying... thats lame...

From what I've read Kaka has NOT been included in the deal. With the English fans money, & the sponsership money from our new logo, and Berlusconi's personal fortune, we wouldn't ave to include any player in the deal. I can't see it happening though. i fear it could be a smokescreen for us fans to say we tried to get the best for most of the transfer window but they didn't want to come, so here is ......
