I love this picture. Milan's is a lot better than Inter's. Milan's goes to Tier 3, their banner is much more coulourful and is bigger.

Thank you for your all comments and appreciation. Despite the bad side, the Ultras world is fascinating and has some positive values and effects. Imagine the atmosphere inside stadia if we didn't have these guys. I think it's a controversial world, and using moral values to give an opinion on it is like cleaning a car with a tissue: a waste of time.

To reply these questions:
usually the 3/4 of the Curva are already busy with the season ticket holders, but it's a free area where, if you come first, you get the seat. You won't see anybody claiming for his seat there, differently from the other areas of the stadium. Therefore, if you manage to get there (not necessarely with a ticket for the 2nd blue tier, but for ex. asking the staff to leave you get there cause you travelled a lot/ have friends of girlfriend inside etc.. and bla bla bla) you find a place among the free seats in that moment available.Very important. to find a good place inside it's important to get there at least 2 h before, because people starts to fill Curva since the organisation open the gates, and on Milan Inter matches even 3-4 h.Touts usually sell tickets for this area, and i've met foreigners and visitors from Europe or even outside inside the Curva (just in the outer parts, the inner ones are occupied by groups, this people has reserved areas and they will ask you to move to another place if you stay there. The atmosphere is very similar to an alternative party, with people smoking weed and drinking cheap wine and having a relaxed chat. There are some annoying situations every bit, esp in the part closer to the pitch (the so called "Balcony") where people are pushed up 5 mins before the game, when the Ultras chief come and need their space in the first 5 rows. It can happen to lose a position you defended for a couple of hours and sometimes people get nervous, and rightly so, about it. I had a couple of quarrels with some minor chieftains about these situations, and that's why, going every week there is tiring. The occasional watcher, instead, won't even notice it and will be too thrilled by the atmosphere to mind.

Best moment: when the Curva "awaken" up from silence and start singing. It's like a mountain crashing at the floor. I just remember how gutted where the United fans when we started our songs. The moment before it was all silent, the moment after an hell.

I founf this interesting article in an Italian site on the real reasons of why Fossa dismanteled. I guess that many of the below is near to the absolute truth. I'm going to give a translation in my own words.

Report:
The fact that in Milan-Juve Fossa showed the Viking flags was to repay them back for a similar thing that IRR done with an FDL flag some seasons ago. You may think that it was a mistake to exchange the flags with the banner (that was being done between ultras with no police intervention), but do you really think that FDL where so stupid to blow 37 years of history by going to report everything to the police?

MANCHESTER:
Before Juve-Milan of may 2003 there was a pact between Milan and Juve and all ultra groups so to not to cause trouble in Manchester and the particpants had huge financial benefits. Fossa didn't signed this agreement and Juve-Milan of May 2003 went without accidents only because Juve ultras respected this pact.

Police:
at Verona against Chievo after the Nassiriya disaster from Fossa they started to chant agaisnt the police moments after the minute of silence, the other curva sud didn't participate except for some individuals. It is true that maybe the chants where innapropriate but you can't respect police for a day and insult them for the rest of the year. Where is the consistency? After this Milan had to pay a fine of 40,000 euros.

CAGLIARI:
Cagliari-Milan (last season) the game ends and from BRN they start chanting pro galliani which was in the middle of the pitch. The bald comes under the curva and BRN applaudes him, as he passes near Fossa fester receives huge amounts of insults because of pay tv and the fact that he was the Lega boss.
Some curva boss didn't liked this protest and after this a$$ licker was seens hand in hand with Adriano

EMPOLI:
All curva groups decide not to go for the away game as a sign of protest for increase in match ticket price. Some FDL members went but remained outside the stadium while others went inside. This fact created a lot of tension.

TORCHES:
In the last matches only the FDL section used to light torches. As everyone knows after what happenned in the Euro derby supporters can't light torches and fines where given to the club whenever this happenned.

EUROPEI 2012:
FDL & BRN in theory agreed to make a banner saying we boycot Euro Championships of 2012. This banner appeard in FDL site but not on other sites!

The creators of the best coreos in Italy have fallen quite badly these days, coreos have not been as flamable as last few seasons, the one coreo I liked was this derby and the match against Lyon in l;ast year's CL
But I wanna know much more about the CS, what ultras do Milan have and are coreos mostly paid by the club as rumors say?

What happened to Fossa Di Leoni? Why did they disband in 2005?

Let this be the official CS thread, with pics and history and such, I have always seen AC Milan as having the best coreos in Italy, followed by Inter, but the Nerazzuri ultras frankly are better since only last season, what happened?

Fossa Dei Leoni disbanded because of a number of reasons, and their core members still go watch Milan but are no longer part of the Curva Sud. The remaining joined other Ultra groups such as Panthers, Rams, Alternativa Rossoneri, Guerrieri Ultras ect... Unfortunately for the Curva, the most "artistic" members, those who designed the choreographies were part of them so now it's up to the less "inspired" BRN to take over, but with no big success yet (other than the "Scudetto del Tavollino" choreography in the derby)

The sum of internal conflicts, a fierce rivalry with the Brigate Rossoneri and the lesser and lesser control the leader had over his own members (culminating in several battles with casualties against other team Ultras, and even what could be described as open battles against the Juventus Viking Ultra group) lead ultimately to the disband of the FDL, their site is still present, but just the introduction page with an explanation in italian, the material is no longer available and their archive of fotos, videos is lost as well.

The Fossa originaly founded in 1969 had more left political tendencies while the Brigate are right to extreme right minded. These last years it was not uncommon that members of both ultra groups fighted against each other when there was little opposition fans to take on.

The younger members of the FDL got into conflict with the elder ones (these made the choreographies) as they accused them of being to soft. The younger members stole several flags of the Juventus Vikings (probably with the Irrudicibili Lazio and the Roma Boys one of the most dangerous hooligan groups in Italy) that lay unattended in front of the San Siro during the match Milan - Juventus of last season (the one we won 3-1)

The flags were shown and one was even damaged during the match to the horror of the older FDL members and of course this infuriated the Juventus Vikings.

Their vengeance would come where it was the least expected, in Holland, after the CL match PSV- Milan (which we lost 1-0), I was there and I saw it happen.

The hardcore of the Vikings (aka the real nutcases that aren't even allowed at Delle Alpi anymore) followed the FDL fans from Italy to Holland and were waiting in between the railroad station and the stadium. Suddenly they came out of nowhere and they had knives and fire arms. Several milanisti got stabbed and the most high ranking member of the FDL that was present that day was forced, under the threat of a firearm on his head to hand the Fossa Dei Leoni away match Banner to the Vikings. Then they took off in cars, back to Italy.

The next day the Viking website was showing the masked members of Viking with their new trophy.

An unwritten law says that if one Ultra group captures the banner of the other, the first one has to disband. The younger members of the FDL wanted to have their vengeance again of course, rumours say that talks went as far as fabricating hand made bombs and such...

This was the last straw for the FDL chiefs who decided to disband the group. To prevent more violence from happening between ultras even of the same team the FDL was no more.

As described above the mass of members was absorbed by the other groups and the violence was stopped. In the meantime Viking Juve is no longer tolerated by the Turin forces of order and even their banners are prohibited from the stadion. They seem to have also disbanded for most part and joined the Juve Fighters, Drughi Bianconeri and Nucleo groups.

I don't really see how the Curva Sud has fallen. All of these are since the fall of FdL, including the one in this year's derby. There used to be a really long thread on Ultras by Giovanni, I'll try to dig it up.

CS has always been the scene for the best coreos in the world, but they aren't as much as they used to be. That's all.
