The official booked Mexes twice in less than 2 min, both very suspicious especially the second which was not even a foul.

One of the few positives. Scored a great goal, but the other players involve him in the game few times.

Pato was the only good player today, his goal what out of this world, and otherwise he had a great performance, giving a perfect assist to Seedorf, who was too slow to put it against the back of the net....

It annoys me that Ancelotti never plays with two strikers anymore ... For me it is ok to play with 3 defensive midfielders in Arsenal, but against Catania Milan should always play two strikers and at least two offensive players on midfield. Although, i realise that we have not many match fit strikers at the moment.
Anyway, i always thought that Ancelotti was a mediocre coach, who is too much afraid to lose (even after we won our Champions League's trophys), and it still proofs so ... It was better for a period when we played with only Pirlo & Gattuso as def midv, but since we won the CL with three, he now plays it against almost every team ... We are Milan, why should we be afraid to play Catania ??? Three def midv is way too much in these games Carlo !!!

CATANIA – It must be considered as a positive result the one obtained at the “Massimino” of Catania. Milan drew 1-1 with a team with many unavailable players, against a team which in the second half put in big difficult the Rossoneri’s defence.

Fiorentina won and therefore Milan is once again behind the fourth place, but the Rossoneri still remain in the race in a season which is still very long.

As mentioned lately, with a team not at its best and without many decisive players, a draw away from home against a team coming from 4 consecutive defeats and therefore with a lot of fighting spirit must be accepted ahead of better times. The disappointment still remains for having seen Milan going ahead with a very nice goal by Pato.

For the young prodigy it’s the 5th goal of the season, following a great move and finalized with an accurate shot from the distance.

Feeling strong following the goal, Milan was more solid and determined to defend the result, aiming on the attacks by Pato. However, it was Catania that changed and is re-modelled by its coach with the addition of Spinesi.

The Catania attack has more weight where with Martinez and Mascara supports the movements of Spinesi who is very good at opening spaces for the movement forward of his team-mates. In the 64th minute it’s a chance by Vargas which creates the conditions for the draw. The left winger puts a ball in the middle for Spinesi who heads past Kalac.

Towards the end Milan suffered and showed an athletic condition which was not good enough. A further reason to accept the pitch’s verdict and wait for better days.

We need to man up and stop with BS excuses. They should just say we were lucky to barely escape with a tie today..

In general, a draw with an in-form Catania is not a bad result. But we were so rubbish in the first 4 months of the season, that we can't afford even dropping a point with the best teams, let alone with these middle table ones.

Last year this time we were bagging the wins one after the other.. Right now we draw with Catania, Livorno, Parma (i think?) and we needed a 90th minute goal to beat Palermo. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.. Last year our players put in extraordinary performances to get us the CL, it is selfish of the management to think they can do it again. Such a thin squad we have, really really sad performances we are putting in.

About fourth spot, dont worry we will get it but its a shame cuz if we won these last 3 games that we drew, we would be 12 points from Inter..I remember 3 years ago, Juve were ahead of us by 10 points in March and we cut it down to 2 points in just one week. If we bagged in those wins we could have had a shot for the scudetto.

I think this is the most pathetic attempt at spin doctoring that acmilan.com has ever come up with. We're supposed to be happy that we drew against a team that is coming off four losses???? Honestly, do they really think we're that stupid?

Not a good result, and we have to bounce back this weekend.

The good things:
- Kalac was solid.
- Bonera defended very well.
- Emerson looked good.
- Pato was brilliant. His partnership with Pippo seemed promising. Arsenal?

The bad things: Oh, no. I dont want to see that anymore.

If Vargas was too hard to beat, buy him.

Not a surprising result. We've had a real hard time scoring goals with our lack of fire power up front and Kaka nagging injury. Seedorf played to get some minutes in his leg before the CL tie next week (which ESPN2 is NOT showing??!!). Lets not go crazy about Gourcuff, one decent cross doesn't make him a genious or WC player. He hasn't shown anything special when given the playing time. My guess is that Gattuso was brought on to try and spark some enthusiasm into the team.

I think the blaming of Carlo is unfair. With the team he has available, and the need to rest players for the CL, what would you like him to do?? Everyone here is aware of what this team lacks; fullbacks that can cross, a proper sub for Pirlo and Kaka, and a commanding forward (Sheva has not been replaced). We struggle because are team is thin, Carlo's tactics require certain types of players, we currently don't not have those players. We'll see if the necessary improvements happen this summer.

For the rest of the season I expect a struggle between Milan, Fiorentina, and Juve for the 3rd and 4th spots. I hope that Milan and Fiorentina finish in the top four.

Forza Milan
Forza Carlo

am I the only one that thinks that Pato did not have a good game despite the good goal he scored? Everyone seems to be saying that he did very well.. I can't recall anything he did other than the goal?

I didn't see this game. Thankfully I didn't.

I must confess, lately with the league games I record on the DVR, I find myself pushing the fast forward button quite often. The past two games I've been able to watch live, the Palermo and Parma games, I've nodded off through some long stretches.

But that's okay, as you can see on our shirts, we're World Club Champions!

His pass to Seedorf - the old man. He also had some good moves. However, with 3 DM, lazy Seedorf, Favalli and Cafu owned by Vargas, how could he play better.

I'm sympathetic with Carlo, but when Vargas play left winger, played Cafu and Brocchi for that long was suicidal. After our goal, Catania number 7 crossed like mad, he looked like David Beckham with no marking. Carlo realized that, Oddo and Gattuso camin, but that's too late. He underestimated Vargas.

Milan need the boy next season. Quick, powerful both feet, very good crosser, not very skillful but that suit a wingback.
