Its true what Christian said,i actually define Melo as a flop to be honest, not because he cant succeed in Turin,he can,its still early. But he wasnt bought to win back balls at midfield,he wasnt bought to be a RM or LM,he was bought to be their Pirlo,he was the new playmaker, and he failed to delivere, and the joke is he will never succeed at the playmaking position because it doesnt suit him.
Juve made a wrong decision to buy him, they wanted D'Agostino,he was perfect for the job because he is a Pirlo like player, but Melo isnt. Diego is great but he needs time, but there a so MANY wrong buys at Juve.Poulsen isnt worldclass, but at Sevilla he was showing allot more then in Italy,Grosso isnt the player he used to be although everybody knows that. And then AMAURI....oh my god i still dont get why they play him every match, the guy scores like 4 goals in 38 matches in a season, bench him already.Even Chiellini can score more then him. |

Oh and the big question is,when Seedorf and Pato will be back, who is going to bench.
Its obvious Pato will play,Ronaldinho-Borrie-Pato,Leo will play this for sure. But the midfield?Leo is playing Rino again even if it is because injuries, then you have Ambro,Pirlo,Seedorf and Beckham.... Who will play?Ambro will not bench because Leo needs a DM and Ambro is infront Rino and Flamini,Pirlo also wont bench, its between Seedorf and Becks.. |

Oh and about strikers, is Borriello going to earn a spot for the next WC ? The way he plays for us in the 4-3-3 formation is exactly what is missing in the Italian NT ... I didn't know nor expect I would have said such a thing, but Italy needs Borriello because he shows game after game that he can become a WC striker (one or two goals against MU, one or two other goals before the final and one goal in final to allow us to be the European champions again and it will be enough ). |

On Pirlo - Seedorf.
When Pirlo plays on AM position, on Seedorf's place, with Rino and Ambro behind him, he MUST come back for the ball, because neither Rino or Ambro don't have technical or passing ability to take the ball from our defense and spread it, at least not all the time. If we play two of them in front of defense, we must have a playmaker, who's in front of them, who'll frequently track back to collect the balls from defense and spread them around. That's why Pirlo isn't present in attack as he should be, considering he plays in attacking midfielder position. On the other hand, Seedorf has Pirlo behind him so he doesn't have to bother to come back for the ball and he can run around and help attack. For me, Seedorf is perhaps most important player in our system, because he moves A LOT in attack, helping Ronny and Pato and combining with them, and he's helping defense, WHEN NEEDED, because he stays up for the purpose, to take the loose balls and initiate counter. |

I think a couple of things must be put into account over the past two games.
Gattuso in for Pirlo, Abate and Antonini as FB, Pirlo in for Seedorf and Beck in for Pato. Having Gattuso in for Pirlo, the two DMs are much stronger and covered more grounds than having Pirlo as one of the DMs. Abate and Antonini, these two might not be Maicon and Cissohko but they do covered a lot of grounds in the back due to their speed and THE WILL TO RUN AND TRACK BACK. On top of that, these two often runs up to join the attack. Even if they did not get the ball during the attack, they did gave more options and opposition defense will be stretch out due to their overlapping runs. At the end, they opened up more space for the front three-Beck/Pat-Pirlo/Seedorf-Dinho to operate. Pirlo for Seedorf. Never a big fan of Slowdorf, so my comments might be bias here. The thing that I saw in Pirlo which is different than Seedorf is the fact that Pirlo actually tracks back while Seedorf watches the play. It is okay when Milan plays against team that did not press but lets say Seedorf actually played VS Juve, the game might ended up a draw instead of a win. Beck for Pato is very interesting. As Becks offers more balance but Pato gives more in attack. Personally, if all is healthy, this is what I do. Beck-Ambro Pirlo Pato-Borri-Dinho |
