Haha you must be lunatics if you don't admit MVB scored more spectacular goals than Sheva after watching this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zN3Iy9JrHKo

Yes, very great stuff by van Basten...
But still I think u simply forgot about Sheva and goals he used to score, he scored some great goals in his own style. Like I said before if u'll take best 10 MvB goals and 10 Sheva's, it will be hard to decide wich are better... they did have different style too.

I think this is a bit excessive, Mr. Bungle. I just remember just one beautiful/spetacular goal from Papin. Against SS Lazio, at Olimpico, in 1992/1993 campaign. If I'm not totally wrong in the last match of our fantastic 58 games unbeaten run.
Sheva produced more spetacular goals to us... But overall I agree with you opinion.

Its not good enough that Shevchenko leaves as Milan #2 best goal scorer, now its questions bout how great or spectacular the goals were...boring...

hehe...well probably i wasnt right with J.P. Papin....but i can remambe him scoring 2 unbelievably powerfull bicyclekick goals and at least 3 long range volley shots...Also some of his headers were very spectacular...but i agree with you...

its sad to say that our historical second top goalscorer is a traitor in the end...
MARCO UNICO!

There is no comparison here.. Marco is UNDISPUTED no.1 in All Milan Fans hearts who had the PRIVILEDGE to watch a Living Legend in Action. Andriy was Fantastic, I'll say that much but to compare him with Marco is an Insult to Marco himself.

I dare say this.. Andriy left us because he knows deep down in his heart(familiar?) that he can never replace Marco as the BEST goalscorer in Milan History. He was just a substitute who punched way above his weight and earned the love of the fans b4 he cruelly stabbed them(Us actually) in the back..

Marco : Numero Uno( ?_? ) Alpha_Omega =X

Today i watched Bergkamp's testimonial at the new Arsenal stadium on tv. They played Ajax and in the first half it was all the youngsters (huntelaar again looked impressive), but in the second half they wheeled out some old Ajax & Arsenal players. Rijkaard played with Stam, the De Boers, Blinjd, Winter, Roy, Jonk ... some great players but then surprising everyone Cruyff and MVB took to the pitch !!!!!!

It was amazing ! Cruyff was naturally alot slower as he's nearly 60, but he was still point and shouting. MVB though looked amazing, his first two flicks found other players, he produced a great backheel that fooled two players in the box, his movement and runs were still superb and so sharp. He took a ball out of the air, flicked it over the oppenent and got a shot in that just saved. He still just oozes class & technique

Yeah well im not Assnal fan...but i have to admit bergkamp was a great player. It was great to see the likes of MVB, Rijkaard and Cruyff again (even if i was worried that he might pass out cuz of his age ).....MVB still looks awesome with his techinique, touches and class!....What a player...

lol, MVB was terrific in the testomonial, made me nostalgic. Truly wonderful bits of skill, it was a shame Manninger (I think) saved a good shot after some terrific play.

there is no way Shevchenko is better than van Basten... just look at the individual honours they both won... as well as the impact both had at the big stage both internationally & at club level... takin' that into account... Shevchenko's best form was probably just van Basten's average form...

Shevchenko was great, he's one of the few big name strikers to have scored a perfect hat-trick (one left foot, one right foot, one header) and if you compare the calibre of players he had to play with both in the team as a whole and his striking partners. You'd have to say that Shevchenko practically carried the team for most of the years he was with us.

MVB was fortunate to be playing in a Milan team that was surrounded by truly world class players in every department and when Milan were the best team in the world by a long distance. Lets also not forget that MVB's career was cut short at 28 ( i think ) when constant hacking at him enraged injuries that forced him to retire, so who knows how many more goals he would have scored for us.

All that being said though, i still think that MVB was a much better striker than Shevchenko, head & shoulders above him and anyone else around these days.
