there is no way this was the worst transfer season ever. we picked up Gourcuff and Olivera. So what we got rid of sheva, he was in decline and if u think he is in his prime look at the last 10 games he played last year. He will always score his share of goals but when your gonna have gila and pippo up front they will also score their own share of goals. We improved the d by adding favilli and bonera. We have the best midfield in seria A. And for all the people looking at what inter did, they did nothing to their weak midfield and they added a striker who scores a goal once out of every 10 chances. Milan champions of seria A for the 18th time baby! whooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Regarding sheva, I read on another news that he is frustrated with comments made byh ex-Milan teammates regarding his kissing-jersey incidence. And as one of my favorite quotes: "Everything falls into place when tragedy happens"...
if you look back, you'll find that Sheva was in several disagreemtn with Maldini (during 3-0 half time against Liverpool), with Ancelotti (caught on tv numerous times, sheva threatening to leave), and with gattuso. J |

If those two players cost that much we would be saying we've been ripped off.
People aren't complaining about how much money we have or haven't spent and it's not about how many stars we have or haven't bought. It's about improving the squad and getting quality replacements, how can people not see this?

Yes, but does quality replacements = Millions of pounds/euros?
I beg to disagree...quality is not necessairly dependent on vast spending...and if we can get the quality, without the high cost..then why not? Its a sound business model...reduce your input costs, and maximise your profits...without sacrificing quality. I refuse to believe that Oliveira and Gourcuff arent quality investments.

I have read a good few posts here that say we were linked with so and so and who did we get, none of them. With the exception of Ronaldo, who links us with these so called Milan targets? The Newspapers! So why don't all the Italian papers buy these so called Milan targets and make up a Gazzetta A.C., sponsors of Milan.]
Some of the members here really need to stop believing everything they read in the press! Forza Milan |

Here's a thought...
Why not reserve judgement on the transfer season until February-ish or, dare I over-estimate the prudence on this board, May. |

i can understand where people are coming from but you have to look at the context of our transfer season.
we didnt know whether we`d be in serie a never mind the champions league. this consequently put all our ideas on hold. this was something the board or management could not control. we bought in favalli and bonera which is good cover for our ever ageing defence (although i agree that more should have been done to this section of the team a long time ago), gorcuff (or however you spell it) seems to have lots of potential and olivera again seems to be the best option available to us at the time. we will be fighting on all fronts right until the very end but we i dont think we have the quality to win the trophies. i think barcelona will win the champions league and that inter (dare i say it) will win serie a considering the points deduction we have and the quality of players that they brought in... however i do hope milan prove me wrong. |

I'm not sure i can explain it any clearer Warro.
The "everything's fine" group seem to think that anyone who speaks out against our transfers this summer are doing so because they think Milan should spend a mountain of cash or because they want "Stars" brought in. I don't see it that way. I think the people who speak out against our transfers do so because they are concerned about the quality of players being brought in, in which i include myself. I don't want us to waste a ton of money for the sake of it and i don't want us to buy "star" after "star" player to fit into our team. All i want is that the people that are brought in are of a better quality than what we have now in the squad. Does this mean i'm against Gourcuff or think he's not very good because we only paid 3 million euros for him? No of course not. Do i think the same of Oliveira. Again, no. I think Gourcuff fills the void left by Rui Costa and that Oliveira is an improvement over Amoroso. Do i also think that quality can't be bought as a low price? Once again, no. What i do dislike is how our 2nd string of players is average at best, these are the areas we need to improve. Bonera is a fine addition, Favalli i'm not so sure about but time will tell. It's been said enough times that our journey through the summer has stopped the "big" names coming in, but don't try and tell me it stopped some squad players coming in also. What if we have an injury to Dida? Everyone's slated Kalac in here so don't try and tell me that you'd put your faith in him. What about Simic, Costacurta, Jankulovski? Two of them don't get used and the other should not be playing. That's 3 positions taken up where instead we could have players that actually get used or actually challenge for a position. What about the midfield? Ambrosini & Brocchi are both fine players, but they're 1 dimensional. Can they really replace Seedorf and/or Pirlo should there be an injury to these two? Are we really saying that the trial and everything stopped us getting 2 or 3 good players to improve the depth of the squad? I can't believe that for a minute.

Let me (try) come up with a reason. First, the hypothesis that "injury to Dida" is a weak one. The reason I'm saying is simply that it can happens to any of the teams, such as Juventus (ex: what if Buffon got injured which actually did happen and Milan is 'kind' enough to give them a player?) or Chelsea (what if Cechs got injured?). But GK is a special post and a special situation so I'll leave it just here. For Janku: Hopefully he has fjully recovered from his injury and will now adapt to the squad. I do consider him as a useful backup than the other two that you mentioned. Bonera is also a fine addition. I think there is something need to be noted here: There won't be many above-average players willing to sit on the bench. Ambro said he wanted to go for a few times, and Brocchi has actually left us once due to lack of opportunity; Kaladze has shaken hand with the Chelsea president but the transfer didn't make it somehow; Rui has (finally and sadly) left; seriously, there are not many Inzaghi in the world (but also because he has nowhere to go after a longer-than-a-year injury) who stay with their teams and remain loyal. It's even harder when the players are above-average. If I know that I'm not going to make it to the first eleven, why am I going to join this team especially I know that I'm the bench players and have no chance to advance in the squad? I hope you get my point. |

If Cech gets injured they have Cudicini who is a fantastic keeper. Chelsea though are a freak in that sense. The point is they have someone they can rely on, we do not.
Why couldn't we have got an understudy from a Serie B side or the Bundesliga or Ligue 1 or something? It wouldn't have been that hard and they would have been better than Kalac. I get your point, but for me i would get better squad players in order to actually play them and push the first teamers. I'm not talking about loads of great understudies, but just 2 or 3 different options instead of the same predictable line up. It would benefit the team no end and make us extremely more versatile. It would also give the first teamers a kick up the ass so they know they're not guaranteed a spot in the first 11.

good point by jeff, JANKU needs to step up to the mark and prove how good a player he is. if he does that, then we have someone who can operate on the left side of defence and midfield.

Chelsea don't have one thing we have...continuity.
Guys that is huge...that is why we have outperformed Chelsea in the last 2 seasons in the Champions League. |
