Genoa have pulled off another coup with the signing of Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 24-year-old joins fellow Portugal international team-mate Eduardo and Luca Toni among Genoa's new arrivals this summer.

Milan and Fiorentina were also interested in Veloso, but Genoa persevered even when it looked like the player himself wasn't convinced by the project at Marassi.

La Gazzetta understands Veloso will sign for €6.5m plus Alberto Zapater in exchange. He will pen a four-year contract with the Grifone.

Genoa are also understood to have beaten Napoli to the signing of Hoffenheim midfielder Franco Zuculini.

He looks set to arrive on loan until the end of next season when they'll have the right to buy him for €6.5m.

Goal.com usually use "OFFICIAL" when a transfer is official, so, no deal yet.

I am usually the last to care for 'economic' reasons but at least Honda can generate some more interest in Japan/Asia

honda would be a good transfer, so would lazzari.. i dont no why we extended oddos contract.. inzaghi was an amazing player he won us alot but he really needs to dip with huntelaar and make room for robinho..

older, slower, lousier, cheaper, and just got an extension.

Let's say Milan are unable to sign any more players this summer....I don't think this is true...still got more than a month to go but let's assume that happens. Here is one suggestion for a formation. Thoughts?

we wont play with 3 defenders!

Arjun: I have been wanting Milan to play that since 2005... It can work great but without Abate and Antonini both there, both are inexperienced and not good enough for responsible roles such as those in that formation.

I also don't think Huntelaar deserves a starting spot let alone a place in the squad.

I would put Zambro (Abate) and Antonini (Jankulovski) on the flanks. I would also have Borriello or Inzaghi partner Pato upfront. I also would play Abbiati instead of Amelia. But I do like the Flamini/Pirlo combo in that position.

Ilsinho is a 25 year old Brazilian that was very highly rated 5 years ago when we were linked with him. He was likened alot to Cafu and was very close to joining us.

Good news is, he fullfills everything we are looking for:
- 25 years old
- Brazilian..... and Italian passport
- Speedy right back
- FREE

Can someone let us know why did Shakhtar release him on a free, and let us know how good is he really? I know that he was important for them when they won the Europa League in 2009.
