Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic!! Back in the CL and minus eight points in the league. Excellent. Credit to our lawyers for the successful appeal. Finally, some excitement and enthusiasm about next season. Now that everything is more or less stable, I'm hoping for Berlusconi to take a "hands on" approach and strengthen the team. We need three key signings in defense, midfield, and forward....and we no longer have to look at next season as a stepping stone for the season after. There is everything to play for next year and we've got to give ourselves every chance. Hopefully, we take a big plunge in the transfer market and get some quality players.....

We're in the CL people! Now, do not fick up, cos it'll be il capitano's last season and everything. Time to say we meant business. Time for us to strengthen the team and take back what rightfully ours. hmm... I wonder how the Inter camps react. mwahahaha!!!! |

I am happy that AC Milan has been reinstated in the UEFA Champions League.
As reported by Soccernet: "AC Milan's penalty points for next season were reduced from minus 15 to minus eight and the retrospective punishment on last season's points tally was reduced from minus 44 to minus 30." |

If INter don't buck up, Milan can easily catch up with the 8 points gap. To be honest, for the past 2 seasons Milan have been able to beat Inter for quite a large margin.

Palermo chief Maurizio Zamparini has been left fuming after last night’s Calciopoli verdicts saw his side’s Champions League dreams disappear.
The Rosanero were initially promoted to the competition after the first grade verdict saw Juventus, Fiorentina and Milan all banned from the European Cup. But the Rossoneri have now been put back into the competition, relegating the Sicilian team to next year’s UEFA Cup. “This sentence is ridiculous and cannot satisfy us,” said Zamparini during an interview on state television RAI. “The verdict allows Milan to play the Champions League, I don’t really understand where the punishment is. “I am puzzled,” added Zamparini. “Milan are either guilty or not, and if they are guilty, they should pay for any wrongdoing. “I’m not saying that Palermo deserved a place in the Champions League, considering that we ended only eighth in the past season, but this way Milan are not suffering any real consequence.” Hahahhahahahaahhaah Sweeet |

This year will be different that the past seasons, not just becouse Inter is stronger than before, and Milan lost our talisman Sheva, but also becouse Milan and Juve lost some of the power we had on the refs and so on... Season will be interesting, but im sure we can catch up.

It is not over yet.... from sportinglife.com:
UEFA TO RULE ON ITALIAN CLUBS AC Milan's participation in the Champions League will be under discussion when UEFA hold an emergency panel meeting on Thursday morning. European football's governing body have confirmed that the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) have entered AC Milan to be the country's representatives at the third qualifying round of the Champions League. On Tuesday evening an appeal court decided that Milan's 44-point deduction from their total last season should be reduced to 30 points, allowing the club a chance to qualify for the group stage of Europe's elite competition. Milan, along with Juventus, Fiorentina and Lazio, were sanctioned following a sports court trial into attempted match-fixing in Italy. However, UEFA could yet prevent Milan from participating in the competition, and a meeting chaired by the Union`s president Lennart Johansson and attended by senior UEFA officials will focus on the Italian situation. "There will be an emergency panel meeting, which will be attended by the UEFA president on Thursday morning, and it will specifically look at the Italian teams entered for UEFA`s competitions for the coming season,'' a UEFA spokesman told Football Insider. Earlier, UEFA's head of communications William Gaillard pointed out that there has been a precedent for the Union preventing a club from playing in their competitions. Marseille, who beat Milan in the Champions League final in 1993, were denied the chance to defend their trophy after being found guilty of match-fixing in their domestic league. Gaillard said:"Who plays in the European competitions will be up to the (UEFA) committee. "In the past the committee have made exceptions (by preventing clubs from taking part in European competitions). Marseille were one case in 1993.''

Yeah its on channel4 as well..
UEFA may axe Milan Wednesday 26 July, 2006 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Milan may still be banned from competing in next season’s Champions League by UEFA, reports on Wednesday are suggesting. Although the Rossoneri were last night re-instated into the competition following their Calciopoli appeal, UEFA could still decide to not accept their entry. It’s understood that the European game’s footballing body will hold an emergency meeting on Thursday to discuss their options. “The meeting has been set up to take a decision on Italy’s participants for European competition during next season,” a UEFA spokesman is quoted as saying on numerous Italian websites. Last season’s League table suggested that Juventus, Milan, Inter and Fiorentina would take part in the 2006-07 European Cup competition. However, as a result of the match-fixing verdicts, Inter and Roma will go directly into the competition, leaving Milan and Chievo to pre-qualify. UEFA do have the power to decline a club entry into their competitions as William Gaillard, their head of communications, has previously outlined. "Who plays in the European competitions will be up to the UEFA committee,” he underlined. "In the past, the committee have made exceptions by preventing clubs from taking part in European competitions. Marseille were one case in 1993.'' The then Champions League holders, who beat Milan 1-0 in the 1993 Final, were thrown out of the competition after they were found guilty of match-fixing in the French League. source: channel4.com
