Summer Mercato 2010

Honda is probably the biggest talent coming out of Asian due to his size, skill and his work rate. To me signing him is a great move as he is as close to a modern footballer as it gets. Like Geo said he is very versatile and can still perform out of his natural position-AM. If you want ref of who he could be barring any injuries, I think the worse he could ever become is a more skillful Park Ji Sung, which is not too bad.

About this year transfer, At this point I still think it sucks. Yepes is not needed if they knew they were going to sign Papa. Unless they are planning to sell Bonera. As it stands now, they have 6 CBs not including Kala and any youths. Amelia at this point is not better than Stoairi. But if you are thankful for MGT not selling of it's top stars, then those BS from B and G are really working. That itself is the saddest part.

as much as i love r10 as a player we all know hes past it and he should go since were tight on money we should get rid of him while we could actually get anything.. i would say buy honda + sell r10&gattuso&janku and buy robinho&lazzari too

if we sign 2 midfielders, in that area where Honda plays, CM or AMC, it doesnt matter, we are not effective there, with Honda's signing, we can be effective there. Figther typee midfielder who can play 2 part of the game would be nice and solve our midfield problems,
im fed up to see slow, walking and predictable midfield, since years, we had same midfield.Ambro can be a good sub, or Gattuso passed it and will leave. Flamini and Pirlo are good.Seedorf can be useful in rotation. with new player and with Honda, we would have great options.

Such as a player like Jucielei plus with Honda signing, we would have a nice midfield. Jucilei, Honda, Flamini and Pirlo, as reserves, there are Ambro and Seedorf.

Perhaps now is a good time for the new coach to experiment with Thiago silva as a holding midfielder? what do you guys think about that?

I wouldn't mind seeing him next to Flamini with Pirlo ahead of them

I was excited with that option back then, when we were linked with Mexes, but now if you put T. Silva as holding midfielder, who will play CB beside Nesta?

Anyway, it's clear Flamini is staying, he's a part of Allegri plans, so we don't have the money for classy CB and with T. Silva as holder Flamini would have to move to the bench again.

i think bijon means papa as a cb and ts as a dmc..i think that the only way we could play that is with an excellent and more than just-creative dinho..because pilro playing as a 10 means faster offensive games,due to his balls..dinho should be the one to bring the balance deeded..fla and ts cannot help a lot on possesion game,for me we need a more versatile player than TS on the medfield and a more experienced than socratis on the back,leave alone the fact that i dont trust dinho's motivation at all this time..

I'm against T.Silva as a DM/CM/... !! We managed to find a solid, promising and young (U30 ) central defender, what we have all wanted for years, and now we have him, you want to make him play in another position ?!

Let's use T.Silva as our next big thing in defence, let's use him to build the next defence when Nesta will stop, to conclude, let's use T.Silva in his natural position.

In France, they report (one or two days after) the rumour about Milan being interested by Mavuba. They just added that the asking price would be around 6M, less than what I thought.

For this price, it could be interesting ...

If our midfield looks like that:

Flamini
Pirlo - Ambro
R80/Seedorf/New player

If Abate is finally used in midfield, and with a guy like Mavuba, we have direct replacements for both Ambro and Flamini. We still have nobody to replace Pirlo (same problem since he arrived). VdV could be this guy but if he comes, I would expect him to play as an AM. So the problem would still be there: no replacement for Pirlo. If Honda comes instead of VdV for example, it's still the same thing.

That leads me to think that Pirlo will be, again, one of the main reasons of our success or failure this season ...

PS: I watched a little of the Juventus-Lyon game, and I have to say that Diego looked like the one of Werder in this first friendly game for Juventus, he didn't look at all like the Diego we saw last season ... If Diego plays well, Juventus will play well, and as a consequence, we will have one more rival, which means we should quickly solve our problems on this mercato to be ready for the start of the season !!

It seems like they have 37 First-Teamers and 20 or so days to trim that to 25.
Seems like some good deals could be picked out from there, assuming we do buy.

He was bought by CSKA in the winter from Venlo (VvV) in the best division in Holland. He apparently played very well there which is why CSKA invested 10M euro's in him.

In CSKA he played 4 games in playoffs in the CL. 2 against Sevilla and 2 against Inter. Here's highlights off him in the first game against Sevilla:

He didn't do well in his two games against Inter though, but no one from CSKA played particularly well there.

I haven't watched him in the league, but he's only ever played 11 games in Russia, so it's hard to say. All in all I think he's had a very fast rise to stardom, but I think he'd probably be worth it for us.

As for Honda, I think he's got bags of talent, good technical skills and physical presence (rare for an Asian footballer), with a strong mentality equal to if not superior to Hidetoshi Nakata. He played well enough in the Eredivise for a CL -bound club to consider him in their starting lineup, says a lot if you ask me.

And as for not playing well against Merda, I can pretty much say the same thing for EVERY SINGLE MILAN PLAYER who played against them last season as well, home and away, no exceptions. Don't assume that because he didn't do well against a champion team when he was with an average side, that it means he won't do well against the same team when playing with 10 other world-class players.


The problem should be, do we have the world-class players to play him with. :P

But who are the players they want to get rid of ?
Because despite their unlimited (or almost compared to other teams) budget, I still think they don't have such a good team, anyway I don't see a lot of players in their team that I would like to see in a Milan shirt nowadays.
