well, a pathetic team can only make champs in a pathetic way - I guess it took someone like Rossi to finally give them scudetto.
I mean honestly, with or without Juve and/or the rest cheating, Inter are as far way from being a team of champions as it could possibly be. I wouldn't mind them getting a scudetto if they at least showed on the field with their attitude that they remotely deserved to be called champions, but the way they've been in the past 2-3 years, it's just ridiculous.

Football is a global sport! What about people who are just turning into hard-core fans like us? They won't feel encouraged! There will certainly be people who will be dismayed by this scandal and eventually lose interest!

Ridiculous as it may be, what matters is the result. And its a scudetto in their closet... which is the right way (imo) if juve and milan cheated.

Its also ironic, being loosers as they are to be given the scudetto. But hey, if u can't do it on the pitch, everything else is good. 20 years from now only the number will count.

btw, its hard for me thinking that this scudetto could be ours, if only meani and others involved would play their cards right...

This is a classicial social psychology question; a lightening sentence will make all teams happy so they won't complain; if you choose to have this as the verdict then all 4 teams will be very angry. Now, at least, it seems that 4 teams are less angry.

And that's probably why Milan will have to appeal all the way.

Forget about the CL; they don't care about good football; they care about money. It's time to think highly of serie A and other league games.

UEFA may axe Milan Wednesday 26 July, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Milan may still be banned from competing in next season’s Champions League by UEFA, reports on Wednesday are suggesting.

Although the Rossoneri were last night re-instated into the competition following their Calciopoli appeal, UEFA could still decide to not accept their entry.

It’s understood that the European game’s footballing body will hold an emergency meeting on Thursday to discuss their options.

“The meeting has been set up to take a decision on Italy’s participants for European competition during next season,” a UEFA spokesman is quoted as saying on numerous Italian websites.

Last season’s League table suggested that Juventus, Milan, Inter and Fiorentina would take part in the 2006-07 European Cup competition.

However, as a result of the match-fixing verdicts, Inter and Roma will go directly into the competition, leaving Milan and Chievo to pre-qualify.

UEFA do have the power to decline a club entry into their competitions as William Gaillard, their head of communications, has previously outlined.

"Who plays in the European competitions will be up to the UEFA committee,” he underlined.

"In the past, the committee have made exceptions by preventing clubs from taking part in European competitions. Marseille were one case in 1993.''

The then Champions League holders, who beat Milan 1-0 in the 1993 Final, were thrown out of the competition after they were found guilty of match-fixing in the French League

agree with you. that's what I was thinking yesterday. unforunately Milan seem to be happy with the current situation and we won't be appealing any more. Juve, Lazio and Fiorentina will appeal to 2 other commissions (not sure which ones exactly) but the CL seems to have proven enough of a handout to shut our mouths, at least for now.

Galliani will appeal about his nine months ban but milan wont appeal about the punishment.
After this weekend it wont be relevant for Fiola & Lazio to talk about the Europian competition because the draw will be this Friday. I dont believe that there will be any other verdicts and the situation will stay as it is.

No, this was Guido Rossi's decision, he's the head of the FIGC, and a former Inter Milan board member. Conflicts of interest anyone?

what aceventura said, Galliani will appeal for his personal sentence, Milan won't.
I do hope we change our minds, whatever we do it would be too late for anthing related to CL to change but we could at least decrease or better yet bring down to 0 the penalties for next year and if we do so, it would mean we won't be penalized for this last season too and we will be able to stick it to Inter yet again. Just imagine their reaction if Milan ends up being awarded the scudetto for last year, such an experience is worth appealing to the very end.

the scudetto was given to Inter... do you think they would take it away and give it to Milan? No...

No point in appealing again... we will overcome the -8... and even if we didn't and if Inter won it, both scudetti will always have a big * (asterisk) on them...
