Just a funny comment I would like to add since work is slow today.

A few yrs back, I was so hook on CM and being a Milan fan, I choose to play Milan all the time. But being a Milan fan also means I would like to see Juve suffers, so what I did in CM was that, I controlled both Milan and Juve in the beginning of each season. Then I would sell all Juve stars players to other team and leave Juve with below average players. And yet, Juve could still managed to finish in the top three all the time. Maybe even the creater of CM knows about Juve influences in Italian Football.

Hey man

Did you read about Buffon's involvement in betting today?

This cannot be good for the national team, to have this hanging over the head of Juve players.

I am sure most players place bets here and there.

true. However, it is not permitted for players to bet on games in Italy...at least I think.

Obviously not allowed to bet on games they can influence in some way.

Mentioning that. I am actually able to bet on games I play myself Some teammates last year bet on our team for some games.

I'm not worried what Gazzetta is writing about. Frankly this investigation is barely scratching the surface and look how big it is already. Wait til any indictments start being handed out and watch the birds sing. You see I'm worried about the stuff that hasnt been disclosed and is still under investigation. I'm also concerned about the integrity of the investigation itself. How neutral and ethical are the ones working on this case. The biased side of me would like to think the Milan have no part in this. Yet when I look at certain factors, this whole thing has got me on edge.

I think its fair to say that we all know for so long what has been going on with Juve. As james richardson always jokes on Gazzetta, its as dodgy as a juve penalty in the last minute!

yes, it may be a concern. Btw Italy can cope with a disgraceful Buffon involvment, Peruzzi has been outstanding this year and he's all the experience we need in case of a scandal around Italy players.

In this post for the first time i won't defend Juve players...

Buffon's betting scandal :

Buffon, together with Iuliano, Maresca and Chimenti are suspected for betting in this matches :
Juventus-Djurgarden 2:2 , Juventus-Palermo 1:1 and Coppa Italia matches against Atalanta where Juve lost 0:2 and drew 3:3.

I saw all of these matches, except for the 0:2 lost against Atalanta, and i can tell you that they were too smelly.

1. Juventus-Palermo 1:1 ( last season's match)
I was so dissapointed to be a Juve fan while watching this match. Palermo scored an early goal, Ibrahimovic equalisied in the first half, and than the torturing followed.
Some Juve players were not mentioned in this betting scandal, but how many times did you see Juve not even trying to win at Delle Alpi, or Trezeguet shoting twice from a distance of 35 metres, or Nedved being 16 metres away from oponents goal and giving the ball back to Buffon.
And Palermo players were no better also. They never even tried to attack, eventhough it was obvious they could have scored 10 goals to that Juve if they wanted.
Not to mention that there were almost no fauls on this match.

2. Juventus-Djurgarden 2:2
Until 0:2, all Juve players acted like they are not even on the field. It happens, i know, but it never happens to Juve in CL match.

3. Juventus-Atalanta 3:3
I think Trezeguet was the only one who didn't know Juve mustn't win this match. He scored 2 goals and he was the ONLY one trying to defeat the visitors.
It was a panic in Juventus when Trez scored for 3:2 around 85th minute. All the Juve defensive players then stopped and were giving all the balls to Atalanta's midfielders. Atalanta's striker scored 3 goals in this match, but the third one in 88th minute was unbelievable. He passed with ease the defenders and when he shot the ball, Chimenti could have saved it even if he was blind !

Maybe whoever is accusing Buffon now, is only assuming things, and he mentioned only these 4 matches because it was unbelievable how Juve played in these 4 matches, but i really have to say that what happened in these matches was so stinky and i can still smell the stink !

But the timing is still what worries me a lot. To put asside that they could have accused Juve lot earlier, or waited after the season ends.
But why the hell will someone accuse Buffon before the World Cup ? They could have waited for 2 months, and then accuse him !

First of all, it's great you guys are not the ones who will give the final verdict and eventual punishment to Juve. You are too cruel !
But even if the accussations against Moggi will never be proved, I as a Juve fan will ask for a harsh punishment if Juve players were really involved in betting scandal, and were betting against their club. No matter if it's Serie Z, or Serie B, or taking -10 points at the start of the next season.
But you must know that not every Juve fan thinks the same as i do, and whoever tries to hurt Juve will have to be prepared for the anger of HALF OF Italy. Italians were always strange people to me, but i think that even the ones who are hunting Juve at the moment do not have the guts to go against the half of the country.

And about the eventual punishment....
I found one good post at another forum. Most of it is the same as what i think, and i think it won't hurt if i put it here :

"So magistrates all over Italy are suddenly all investigating Juve. Seems to me it's not a bad way for them to make a name for themselves. Di Pietro did it investigating the mafia, but this is sure to make them much more famous. (Di Pietro, a juventino, was actually in the media calling for a clean-out of Juve management).

The only saving grace in all this for the fans is that it's unlikely Juventus will be relegated to Serie B or C. After all, they're by far the biggest club in Italy, and have signed their TV rights deal with Berlusconi. To lose them from Serie A would be disastrous for the League and Mediaset. Juve coming to town is always sure to pack stadiums for even the smallest club, and the TV ratings are massive. So it really isn't in anyone's interest to remove them from A, and I think you'll find that a solution will be found to punish them but keep them in A.

The other thing, of course, is that this will all drag on and on, so by the time all the appeals are over, things can change. Remember Andreotti? originally found guilty of Mafia associations, but eventually cleared on appeal. These magistrates are the first level. There are many levels of appeal above them, and any findings they make against Juve can be overturned. You'd thing the FIGC would be reluctant to penalise Juve before the court process has finished and, if they did, THAT decision would then be appealed.

And rightly so too. Once sport gets into the realm of the courts, people are innocent till proven guilty, so they have every right to pursue all legal avenues open to them to clear their name. Remember Catania and that whole mess?

This is going to get messier and messier...."

This just in: Milan are one of the four clubs under investigation from Serie A.

Milan, Juve, Fiorentina and Lazio.

Considering we have won few scudettos recently, we may be ok. Unless of course Galliani isnt very good at cheating.

Well this is actually what I wanted the investigators to do. In order for us to be vindicated we should welcome this investigation. If we have done no wrong only an investigation like this can exonerate us. Hope and pray that our club has no impropriety in this matter.
Look at it this way... had we not been investigated, it would have looked fishy by all those who dont support Milan. A lesson to be learned than right??? Because we are being investigated in this matter, is this proof of any wrongdoing?? If we expect this out of our peers who support other clubs, perhaps we might afford them the same consideration. That would need to include Juve folks.

HERE ENDETH the LEsson!
