how's aidiyiah performance so far? i thought the tournament already started?

I think Hunter's future relies on two things: whether we extend Pippo's contract and if we try again this summer to buy Dzeko

The African Cup had just played one match where Mali after being down to 4 goals until 78 min, managed to catch up with Angola. Reminding me of Riazor or Istanbul. . .

IF Milan happens to win anything this year, there will not be any superstar signings, b/c B & G will come out and say that the team is full of champions.........

If Milan does not win anything, then it is tricky.
1. Borriello continues to do well despite not scoring tons of goals. He will stay and will continue to start in the formation as I really don't see anyone better than him for Milan beside Drogba.
2. Since Borriello will stay, Pato will also stay as he is doing well on the right.
3. Pippo will be the 4th striker, someone who will play here and there and score goals.
4. From the way I see it, there is only the 3rd striker spot open. But if Hunter does well-like 10 goals this season, B & G won't be signing another striker unless they can sell Hunter for 20M+ or exchange him with another striker.
5. Even if they can sell Hunter for 20M+, there is still someone call Polashi, who is more than ready and willing to sit at the 3rd striker spot.

I know a lot of people here wants Dzeko to come to Milan....but in order for that to happen, at least one if not both of Borriello and Hunter must leave Milan at the end of the season. Quite franky I really can't see that happening. As Borriello will be the starting CF for Milan as he is really doing well for the team as a whole. And Hunter is Hunter, he will score goals when given chances


Personally, I don't think B & G will splash any real cash on players for next season. As the forwards are pretty set and so is the midfield. Both Favalli and Kala will most likely be gone but there is Astori coming back, Bonera and Gooch both coming back from injuries. Abate is showing signs that he can play as a RB or in midfield. Antonini is a lock at LB, personally, I think he gets call to the WC and pulls a Grosso in 06.

They will however promote a few of the youngsters to first team. Such as Astori, Polashi and Strausser.

Agree with you Geo, but I thought Pippo signed the extension already.

As for a sub for R80. I think it is not that easy, as if someone is as good as R80, they will be demanding and should be starting.

Yeah I agree with this totally , I mean we all know what Milan need's but it isn't coming.Dzeko can say how much he love's Milan all he want's and everyone on here who say's Dzeko will be at Milan next season can also wish.

All the Bosnian guy's on here can post the stories they here as they will know alot more than most of us on here . Dzeko love's Milan and really really want's to play for Milan that I am 110% certain.

But Dzeko will not be at Milan next season no matter what happen's this season if we win trophies or collapse and win nothing and qualify for nothing , Edin Dzeko will not be a Milan player anytime soon because either our MGT doesn't have the money to buy him or just will not pay 30 - 40 million for him.

I think its the latter as for the thought of Berlusconi spending more than and im not exaggerating here more than 5 million on any player is not possible. If we sell Hunter for 15 million we will see Jovanovic come in and Astori + Paloschi come back we might not even see Jovanovic.

Sure we are grinding out results at the moment and I love watching Milan just as much as anyone , but talking about player's like Dzeko and Krasic arriving is dreaming atm.
Which is a pitty because we are not talking about signing Torres , Messi , Cr7 , Iniesta , Vidic . Buffon we are talking about realistic player's for decent money who want to play for Milan but they are not even realistic targets anymore.

What puzzles me is if team's like Genoa , Napoli , Palermo , Lyon , Tottenham , Aston Villa , Wolves this could go on forever , are outspending us and within there mean's for the most part it gives us little chance of progressing.

Does anyone think that , Pirlo , Nesta , Zambrotta , Seedorf , Ambro , Rino , Pippo , Dida have along time left these guy's are running on empty playing well atm but how long do they have left in 2 years the will all be gone. That's 8 players that will not be replaced.

You can sign all the youngsters in the world but for every 200 you sign only 1 or 2 will go on the be even close to what any of the guy's above were. I just do not see any logic or sense in not bolstering your squad its not good for the long term or even the short term with injuries.

We are doing well very well atm but beyond this season its not what we need it won't get us anywhere and with huge wages the club will lose millions again.

We need a Striker who is big strong and can take on defenders and go past them and also shoot from outside the box like Sheva did... Dzeko is one such player who can fill that void... it will be pretty soon that teams will find us out and find a way to shut us down...

Ronaldinho was the wet dream of Berlusconi some years ago,and now Dzeko is the wet dream of the Milan fans...We dont need Dzeko,there i said it!Like Gabriel said,if we buy Dzeko we need to sell not only Hunter but especially Borriello because Borrie wont accept the bench this time,teams know what he is capable of,especially Serie A...

People claimed that by losing many games, they would invest ... this theory was false. Why would the contrary of this theory (not investing because winning) be true ?

I'm sure that there will be reinforcements this Summer, whatever happens before, simply because Leonardo will surely push to have the players he needs.

PS: About the revival of some of our players ... let's not forget it is a WC year !! My father recalled me that when I told him that Pirlo was starting to be again the great Pirlo (other example: Seedorf) !! And he managed to make me be afraid about next year ... are these players going to do like after the WC2006 ?

Except in CL, most of our players looked like they didn't care about most of the games ...

Anyway, like we will win both CL and Serie A this season (look at one of my last posts in the Juventus-Milan thread to understand why ), I wouldn't mind if we "only" win CL next season !!

I can see your logic but I don't agree with it. We won the CL in 2007, and we didn't spend on rebuilding the team; Leonardo was pushing for new players last summer, and we didn't get anyone. I think at this point, the management doesn't really care about what happens to the team period. Whatever happens, they win, they lose, the management will not spend money on new players. The new Milan transfer policy is basically "save as much money as possible, ignoring its impact on the team."
