Even Milan's last CL title bore some luck.

Of course, luck is part of the game; but when luck plays in almost every game that was played in the CL, then the value of CL is lost. Why don't I go and have fun for playing lottery?

Milan is one of the best in Europe, and the world. You won't convince everyone even if Milan won everything, trust me, while people will give lame excuse to Barca if they don't win something.

People are biased; they love Ronaldinho; they love the way he delivered. Yes he is extremely talented, and probably one of the best in the world; but to apothesize him like the god of football is way way too much.

Simply said, people are jealous of Milan. "It's just impossible; how can a bunch of old farts can defend?"

But now, Milan has something to prove: that Milan can still survive, AND WIN, even without Shevchenko. That will be one of the biggest challenges this year.
Hi Jeff,

In overall we have many things in common...it's only a matter how to "cook" the words...right??

Your last statement I put in bold do give me more intention and wish to watch Milan play in Europe not only proofing in homeground..Serie A and beat Inter

So, let us wait for August 2..just to hear what another joke will come up from UEFA regarding our spot in CL...which I don't thing will be given to Lens but Palermo if they really drop us down for their "moral and ethics" reason

Good one Rayno!!!! Thanks for the laugh!!

I read an article on theGuardian, which states that our provisional placement would be difficult to revoke by UEFA, because of the issues with seeding etc that would result were any further changes to be made...

It is a faint hope, but I am clinging to it, like a drowning man clutching a straw!

The problem here is that we have been unnecessarily "tainted" by this scandal. Yes, we did get a "guilty" verdict and handed down punishment. However, the story is much deeper than that. Our involvement in this whole affair (at least as far as there is evidence) is much less than any of the other implicated teams---hence our punishment was the most lenient. The problem is that the main-stream media is not willing to look at anything more than the "guilty" verdict. As a result, we are looked at as a team guilty of match fixing, a team guilty of cheating---which now has needlessly put pressure on UEFA to send some sort of statement about which teams are eligible for the CL---a supposedly squeaky clean competition

It seems like people are all too eager to label us as "cheats" without bothering to listen to the full story......If I was Berlusconi, I'd do something about this right away, because our reputation has been ruined, and anything we win in the near future will be shed in a negative light....

I couldn't agree more, big fault of this is also the media. In my country for example, when the news was brought out and every time since then, we get the same label as the other three clubs.

"Juventus, Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina are facing trial for match fixing, period." Our image has been definitely tarnished and the Milan-haters are amplifying this everywhere by calling us cheats. When for the average Joe Schmuck in the street we were once "one of the greatest football clubs on earth" now we are "those italian cheats", this is unacceptable.

Seedings have nothing to do with this if Lens will take Milan's place. Lens will also be a seeded team (if they play in CL 3rd round qualifications).
But if it's Palermo the team that will take Milan's place, then it will be a huge problem, because Palermo won't be seeded and everything will have to be changed, which i find to be impossibile !

Yes, Toni, a funny thing, all season long I've been hoping for Milan, Palermo and Roma to play in the CL. Now, Roma got to play

Anyhow, I see your point :,)--

Lens taking Milan place is not something I want to think about. I rather have Palermo, seeded or not. Because once the CL place for specific country had been given to other country's club, then, UEFA has more mess than they'll be able to clean.

Here's hoping the place will still be given to Milan.

I really do believe Milan will be allowed to play in CL, and you guys have already given the reasons why it should happen.
The decission will be tomorrow night, and latest reports say that it will be Milan who'll play in 3rd round or nobody will take their place. Lens' and Palermo's chances to replace Milan are less than minimum, and if Milan isn't allowed to play in 3rd round then the winner of Red Star-Corc will directly play in Champions League !

I have been gone for the last 3 weeks and I have no idea what has been happening. Does anyone care to fill me in on the details, as I really don't feel like reading hundreds of pages of posts. Are we in the CL? How many points are we deducted? Thanks in advance.

Why? What happens in 24 hours?

Seriously, I'm clueless. No interned, Ukrainian TV and Ukrainian newspapers don't really give me any news.

In a nutshell...

We start next season with 8 points handicap. Lazio and Fiorentina stay in A. Juventus will go to B. Inter "won" the 05-06 Scudetto. the one for 04-05 was voided.

As for CL, we are back in, and will start from the third qualification round in a week, however, UEFA special panel will need a meeting to decide whether they will allow us to participate or not. That decision will be made tomorrow.
