So its hard for me to see us (though I sincerely want him at Milan) going for a player who is behaving like this, and on top of that, has a history of poor behaviour.
Sorry, but this "behaving like this" isnt a reason since MSI and Kia gave Tevez permission to go back to Argentina. Sorry.

Just watched the latest interview with Tevez and he showed a letter signed by Kia that grants permission to him in order to stay away from the team until august 31th. So for those that like to talk without proof and talk nonsense, well, there you go.
He asked Corinthians/MSI to sell him to an important club in Europe because he wants new challenges and believes he is ready to take that next step (this after Argentina's defeat in Germany 2006). His agent is in London, as well as Kia trying to finish some deal. Didnt talk about any specific club, but I guess there wont be any surprises (Chelsea or some english club).

Gilattack, let me ask you something - what do you undertstand by "team spirit" or "devotion to one's team/teammates"? Is it something like "one for all, all for one" or is it soemthing like a contractual obligation that you follow just because you put a signature on a sheet of paper and you are getting paid very well to do?
See, with or without that signed-by-Kia letter, Tevez' team is fighting to avoid relegation and are going through hell right now. OK, he does have the letter that allows him to leave the team and go do whatever in Buenos Aires ... but does that mean that he should take advantage of this just because Corinthians can't force him to stay? So, what's in the end the price, not value but price, of his duty to his team and teammates - a signed permission to go mess around with nice Argentinian girls?
My point is that true, genuine devotion to a team should not be shown just beacuse he didn't have a signed permission by Kia ... because once Tevez has that letter and he takes advantage of it, it turns out that his so called "team spirit" was something he had been parading only because some contract was forcing him to ... this is a false and poor and quite deceitful substitution for "team spirit" because genuine "team spirit" is something that you have either have it in you or you don't ... and no contract or signed permission to take your butt to Aires will be able neither to create nor destroy thus making you forego your duties to your team ... duties that exist in you, not because of some stupid sheet of paper with your sig on it, but because of who you are as a person.
All in all, if Tevez had stayed, eventhough he had permission to go, that would have been something to in fact admire. What he did, however, is use that signed permission to basically wash his hands with.

Well, I repeat: people like to talk without proof. He doesnt have to come here to be with nice argentinean girls because he has his girl and daughter.
Kia promised Tevez that he will leave Corinthians after the World Cup and he didnt fulfill that promise. So now he is allowing Tevez to sit, not risk any injury, and get his wish to be transfered to an european side. Whats so hard to understand? Why would they risk injury in one or two games that Tevez will miss just because his boss didnt backup his words?
Admire Tevez for staying there in spite of having permission to leave? OK, its quite possible. But him leaving is OK as well, there was a gentlemen's agreement and so be it. He went by the rules, I have no problems with this behaviour. Im not tipping my cap to Tevez for leaving, but Im not criticizing him or inventing things to make him look bad.
Dont worry, Corinthians has enough talent to win without Tevez. They arent in that position because its Tevez +10. And since our friend Brasilero argues that most of his teammates doesnt like him, what better than watch him go?
Oh, and most of Tevez's teammates knew that he was leaving after that sunday match, he didnt went AWOL.

On another note, Tevez said that Mascherano is also willing to move, he make it sound as if he is desperate to leave Corinthians. And before someone compares both cases, they are quite different!

This is fair enough, GilAttack [11]...and I believe in that letter sign by Kia. But it was Tevez that created a problem, because(at least here in Brazil) it was promising that wants to stay in Corinthians after the WC. Every player in the world dream to play in Europe, it“s normal...and it is truth that a player can“t to say that wants to go out of the club, but Tevez made the supporters believed that would not go to leave....
BTW, don“t get me wrong, isn“t a brazilian x argie thing, I will be very glad w/ Mascherano or Lucho Gonzalez in Milan side, but Tevez(at least in Brazil) was one of the biggets primmadona that I ever saw...and IMO Tevez can ruin the team chemistry.

In the end of the day, I dont think Tevez's off-field activity will have too much of a determinant as to whether he will sign for us. I think it's more to do with his price and availability. Knowing us these days, if his price is above the 30M mark, we are unlikely to go for him, no matter how god-like he may become off the field. Secondly, I honestly doubt whether he is available for any other club except for Chelsea.

Yes, Milan like players who will contribute to the team and demonstrate team spirit, but that is not our ONLY criteria in signing players. Shevchenko wasnt exactly a model team player---the guy throws tantrums just because he gets substituted, and that too late in games when we are winning. Look at Seedorf. I guarantee you he will begin moaning the moment he is relegated to the bench for more than 2-3 games. And our beloved Pippo Inzaghi can also be a distraction if not played regularly.

So what I'm saying is that if we dont sign Tevez, I wont believe for one minute that the reason was solely due to his on-field disruptive behaviour. That may have a part to do with it, but I think the bigger issues are money and availibily. Ask yourself, if Tevez was available for say 10M, wouldnt Milan immediately make a bid for him? If we didnt, we'd be pretty stupid.

Its quite simple: lets wait until he moves to Europe and see the cancer he is...

And no, Tevez repeated yet again that if by some reason he has to go back to Brazil, its going to be because of Corinthians' fans but plenty of things will have to change. He admitted he was not motivated enough to go back to Brasil after the world cup, from playing against Germany in a terrific stadium to playing against Portuguesa in the back yard (for example).

But we will see what happens...IMO the only problem Tevez is going to face when joining an european side is playing time. That could be hard for him if he is relegated to the bench and to play one game every month. But other than that, I would bet he wont be a trouble maker or something of that sort.

He will not be benched. Especcially if Chelski send him to Rennes, He is a top class striker, there is no need for him to be resting while a match is going on.

Yes, while I agree that Carlitos has harmed his reputation with his current holdout, I think those who are claiming he is a "cancer" or some sort of troublemaker are being unfair and don't really know his history. I follow Argentine football and particularly Boca Juniors. He was never a problem there. He was one of the most beloved players in the club's history. In fact, the only reason he moved to Corinthians when he did was so that his family could hopefully get some peace because they were constantly mobbed by adoring fans. It was as though he was loved too much in his hometown.

I don't know the whole situation of what has transpired at Corinthians, nor do I know the truth of whatever alleged interest Milan may or may not have had in acquiring him. But from what I know, at least, I would have no reservations about having him on my team (if I had one, of course).

Anyway, here is an article from this morning's Miami Herald with some comments from Corinthians' coach:

i wouldnt exactly say he has passed through our fingers, with Tevez being owned by MSI, chelsea have always had a finger in the pie! if Milan did the same thing, we would have been done for conflict of interest!!

According to this site, Tevez has officially left Corinthians. He will join Chelsea next year after spending a year on loan at Rennes.
