Official: Yoann Gourcuff PERMANENT TRANSFER to Bordeaux

The best thing that can happen for us is Gourcuff comes back and Carlo is able to find a place to play him, and he does well...this might be in 3 years. The worst thing is that he has a fine season at Bordeaux and we end up selling him for a nice profit.

see at the rate he's progressing he could be REALLY special. selling him for 12-14 mil could be a bargain. I hate the zidane references, but in terms of style of play... of any of young frenchies... he fits 'zidane mold' most. Maybe cause he's not super speedy. eitherway when given the opportunity he can control game from AM position. There are 2 problems;

1) evaluating exactly what his potential is. He could be a fine player, but making that leap from top promising prospect to world class player is a BIG step

2) he has nowhere to play in milan. His ideal position is CM in a 4-4-2 or kaka position in 4-3-1-2. neither of which he'll see anytime soon. He's not really a deep lying playmaker (perhaps he can develop into it, who knows...), and definitely not a winger.

perhaps he could evolve from AM to DM like pirlo did in 2002.i think he has potential to do it

he scored a goal for france against romania.if they sell him it is going to be biggest mistake since patrick vieira!

hoooly ... did anyone see how nice his goal was? a great shot from 30-35 metres! he is playing well for both France and Bordeaux and he did not find any space here at Milan...hmmmmmm.. anyone see another Henry/Vieira case on the cards?

No way man, if Milan wanted to do that he would have been sold. Because Milan dont want to sell him he was sent on loan. Very good by Milan. Our midfield is full of quality

i dont think Milan will let him go easily... i'm sure if he continues this form he will certainly come back, hell, maybe even in January if our midfield crisis keeps on going...

However, when he comes back and get his chance to impress and fail, he will more than likely be sent on loan again with option to buy, or simply to be sold!

I believe he's going to be a great Milan player and a star

what midfield crisis? This is the strongest milan midfield in years..

I would disagree there. Although there's a lot of big names in our midfield, the output is nowhere near what it was in 2005 for example. We create at most 1 or 2 clear cut chances per game. I wouldn't call that our strongest midfield in years at all.

Playing Seedorf as a DM is certainly a crisis

our midfield is fine... it is better than the last 3-4 seasons at least... deeper and with almost every player at his peak (not Pirlo, we'll see after he returns from injury)... even Cardacio has shown he could do the job, although difficult behind Pirlo, Emerson...

Where do you play Gourcuff? he can field 14 players at once, Carletto will really need to split playing time between him and Seedorf, I think that's the natural option.

I think Gourcuff can play in the Center Midfield, along side Flamini and Amro/Rino/Pirlo or whoever..

he can also play much further up the field, in a 4-3-2-1 formation or he can rest Kaka in the 4-3-1-2 Formation...

also, face it, Seedorf isnt going to be the good player we always knew, he's getting old, Gourcuff, with his current performances, should easily take the role and playing time of Seedorf
