given our lack of cutting edge up front, we really do need to care about Ronaldo as he's our main hope right now

The only thing Carlo did "wrong" was playing Emerson instead of Gourcuff who could provide more attacking quality that we needed. Cafu move was ok, but Cafu simply failed. We looked tired , except Pirlo who is palying like maradona!

the season is long, but now its really time for Ronaldo and 2 strikers! plus, Kaka' is much more effective as a AM.

FORZA GRANDE MILAN - CAMPIONI!

Carlo should have let some players rest for today's game. There were clear signs of fatigue, which was inevitable after Friday's hard-fought win.

and to put who? Emerson ? Favalli ? , Brocchi ?

We need more strikers

Wow, some were shouting about it during summer mercato but Tony sucked, Sheva was returning to the past and costed a lot in his age, we didn't even go for Torres a players who belonged to a non-rival team so we could take him, even Iaquinta........

Although I didn't like most of Carlo's subs, the game was cool (enternaining for the eyes of the neutral), Fiorentina is an awesome team that has deserved to be in the CL for 2 seasons in a row (the way they played pressure game against us was amazing), but due to externalities it hasn't happened. Then we just played a game on Friday (exhausting game), which could have affected our performance.

We deserved the goal that Fiorentina scored, we have to know against which teams and what results we can put the "laid back" formation on, and leading Fiorentina 1-0, at the start of the second half is not really the moment to use it.

All in all, yeah, we I'm very angry we didn't buy any forward available during the transfer season (that could play before January, ain't a 18 year old we are setting all our hopes on-wrongly if you ask me, refering to Pato-), but I ain't falling in fatalism (at least not for now).

I got to watch the whole game today, and i agree about Gila. He just looks nervous, there is no comfort in his movements. Seedorf i was very proud of, pirlo as well... Im happy with the tie only because its against a good team and its 2 days after the supercup.. Waiting for you Pato and Ronaldo...

Once again, great round up Dev.

I felt very positive about this game also, so I'm finding it very hard to digest Giorgos ' Juve will win scudetto' comment and the ragging on Carlo. Another season and another group of ankle biters for Carlitto to fend off, eh?

I miss R99 - Gila's header into Kaka was great quick thinking, and probably the only time he had full control of a pass...but that's about it. Pippo did what he does best (when he's not scoring Pippo!esque goals), but I'm starting to see frightening similarities in his and Gila's style of play. Why not try and hold up the ball for once without flopping over and looking for the free-kick that's never going to come their way? We could have made this 3-1, but alas.

Nesta and KK were terrific once again. - Solid, well communicated and quiet suave. I still maintain that Nesta's hair does 65 percent of the defending. The day he shaves his head, is the day that Dida dies a horrible death.

I don't care if Janku blasted that free-kick over the bar, because it was inevitable. Marek has his issues with crumbling under pressure...but I thought he was excellent in defence and attack today. Oddo made his regular runs, but wasn't fruitful. Tardiness def. took it's toll on the fullbacks, but Oddo will come into his crossing as the season wears on. I have faith, yo.

Ambrosini - Ambro making those runs into the PB was great! He even came on to the field to put his two cents in during the Mad!kaka moment in the seond half. What he lacks in technical skill, he makes up for in numerous other ways. Forza Ambro!

Rino vs. Mutu - Just like last season was quite entertaining. But Adrian Mutu, I still hate chu. If Rino wants to keep that captain's armband he has to STOP fights, not FUEL them.

Kaka/Seedorf/Pirlo - Midfield was all Pirlo for me. He' s turning into a metronome this season. It was a shame we couldn't capitalize on his great passes. And the hair, oh that beautiful hair. If only Milan could win games based on hair asthetics...

All in all, it was a good game. We haven't given up the race yet, people. It's only Round 2. Given that we faced tough Seville on Friday, I must commend the ragazzi for this performance. Those long spells of posession in midfield were pure class and I'm glad we did not give up a goal to Bobo...I couldn't have taken that...him and his bald head...probably blowing a kiss to his girlfriend of the moment...ugh. Who says am Anti-Vieri?

Maybe Pirlo should have chipped the free-kick to Jankulovski so Marek could have volleyed the ball into the goal

too much 'juve-style' game for my taste. Lots of leg-kicking and pushing around, i wont even ask how come gattuso didnt get yellow in 1st half. He was doing great job but his both feet tackles from behind are really far from good football. Our midfield is old and slow, but with great tehnique, i really enjoyed some actions today. Overall the compliactet too much, seedorf had 2 open chances for 20m strike but went for pass to the side or back. Not cool... It looked like we tried to be overcreative with some magical pass where plain old power shot would do the trick. I was annoyed with one more thing - kaka standing on the left pitch edge. Isnt he supposed to be in the middle...? He can go left and right but he should help the team in the middle imo.

Slow milan was back today and i hope its just a short stop.

EDIT - i liked the fact janku took the freekick, pirlo's chip would be saved anyway but this one wouldn't if it were just a bit lower. It was way beyond playtime already so i dont know if i really wanted milan to score it. Shure i would be happy and all...

Janku should have re-enacted Zizou's goal a la CL final 2001.

You know what I find really frustrating? Juve always find a way to win matches in Serie A (putting aside jokes about buying the refs) under Ancelotti we don't. We didn't get out of second gear today.

Minor correction: That was the 2002 final
