I still think this thing is a storm in a glass of water, the FIGC can end all this very easy : just threaten to radiate them as I said, and they'll back off very fast.

FIGC should act immediately with a 3 points deduction & threaten more if Juve continues this bullsh*t... that would definitely make them reconsider any other action...

The bigger issue for FIFA was if the FIGC were going to do something.
Juve going to civil courts contravenes FIGC rules and therefore FIFA were satisfied with FIGC's response but are monitoring the situation. Today Juve appealed to TAR. FIFA said their position is still the same since FIGC will punish them now. That is the latest. |

And if Juventus gets banned from UEFA they say they'll go to EU court (like Bosman and his case in 1996), which may make UEFA to take off the punishment. It all depends on TAR Lazio now. Inter, Messina, FIGC, and many others are their opponents there. Let us hope Inter will win this case, not Juventus. |

I thought I would revive this thread simply as I watched a documentary on Bravo television (in the UK it shows Italian football) that went over some of the events that ocurred during the trial.
First and foremost, it only really focused on Juve and a little on Fiorentina, while Lazio's involvement was barely mentioned and all it said about Milan was really something like 'they were punished with minimal evidence'. However, this documentary overall was trash. I missed out numerous details (including the involvement of other clubs other than the main 4), focused almost solely on Moggi the whole time and the factor that really got to me, it seemed to say the same ridiculous stuff as much of the Italian media, in that it would disregard important information, leave out important details in the facts and even worse, it completely ruled out Inter's involvement, despite the incredible circumstances where a number of Moratti's friends were involved in the trial or scudetto delegation and the fact that there was evidence against them, which shockingly and swiftly got brushed under the rug. However, one thing made me angry more than anything, it was by far the worst thing said in the show. This was at the end they said at least one thing had certainly been achieved, and that is justice. My sole response to that is anyone who thinks justice has been served or that the corruption is out of Italian football now are either ignorant, naive, blinded by personal interests in the matter or just plain stupid. Btw, Maldini decided to speak up about Blatter's behaviour regarding the handing over of the WC trophy. I thought it was well suited to this thread as it obviously relates to the scandal. Personally, I agree with pretty much everything Maldini says.... Maldini blasts ‘scandalous’ Blatter Wednesday 6 September, 2006 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Milan and Italy legend Paolo Maldini has launched a sensational attack on FIFA President Joseph Blatter. The defender has taken issue with Blatter’s comportment after the Azzurri beat France on penalties to win the World Cup this summer. Blatter opted to not be a part of the award ceremony when the side was handed the trophy, a snub which Maldini finds hard to digest. “The way FIFA treated us in Berlin was scandalous,” the former Azzurri captain said in an interview to magazine Panorama. “Blatter refused to hand over the trophy to us and this is a scandal that our Federation did not react to,” he added. “I had never seen anything like this and what is worse, Blatter keeps expressing very harsh comments on Italian football “Now I understand why we never won as much as we deserved in the past. “I think I know why everyone shows so little consideration for Italy, it’s mainly a political issue, but I think the FIGC must now behave like a Federation of world champions and make themselves heard.” The veteran added that he may consider becoming some kind of football ambassador once he quits the game, even if he’s unsure of what his future holds. ”I have thought about this, but I don’t know what I will do,” he added before also criticising another important figure in the game. “Let’s take Michel Platini’s example, he was always considered a very outspoken person, but now his statements always depend on what people think about him. I don’t really like what he says.” Maldini was also asked for an opinion on former Milan boss Fabio Capello who was blasted by Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero last week. “I fought with Capello in the past and that is no secret,” he added. “Discussions with him are always very heated, but one of his qualities is that he forgets the past very quickly. “However, I must admit that I believe Barcelona are stronger than his Real Madrid side this season.” channel4 Last edited by ACMILAN1983; 07-09-2006 at 10:59. |

Good post Dev, and let me add my endorsement of your position...the snub is totally related to the scandal..but shows the infantile side of Blatter....but what is also shocking, is the non-reaction of the FIGC!
It seems, if u r not the Federation of England, France, Germany and to a lesser extent, Brazil, then you are not only not important, but have no say... This is a further example of the Northern Eurocentric bias of FIFA, and also UEFA.

I can't agree more; there are people who wait to see Italy (and perhaps AC Milan in particular) sink.
Why? Jealousy. |

The documentary was ridiculous, even those interviewed were subjective in viewpoints (note that many Italian newspaper journalists were interviewed, many of whom are supportive of specific clubs and portray others negatively). People like Gabrielli Marcotti, a known Inter fan is shown to comment on Inter's involvement too. |

I dont believe Galliani was in charge of the FIGC. He was in charge of the Lega Calcio which is "professional" soccer. Of course this documentary will be biased. I think we all know well which club has the ability to pull all the strings. Again I've said this all along at what and who would benefit from all this. No wonder Italy is not appreciated anymore. Look who's runnin the show?
The scandal was never MoggiPoli. That was a distraction. The real show was the failed coup followed by the succesful coup by Inter.
