I wouldn't say Ronaldinho is a striker, likewise for Messi. Besides Barca usually play with 3 up front and only one of which is a true striker (i.e. Etoo) the other two positions are filled with creative forwards/attacking midfielders

hmm guys, i dont think we're ever gonna see ronaldinho in our jersey.. im sure he would like it and all some day, but he's an big NIKE ICON now and i dont see him moving anywere. Each add commerical from nike with him in it he can simply wear his barca or brazil jersey, .. nike deserves alot on those things and so does he.

As soon as a player becomes big and a icon for a brand, the brand plays a big role. i think the same went with Beckham leaving ManU for Real (an adidas team) consider how much Real money have made on jerseys with his name on it.

im not saying this is the case with all the bignames.. but man.. ronaldinho is now playing with a Nike logo on his forehead.

Henry changed from Nike to Reebok ... so there's no reason why he couldn't change to Adidas.

Besides, him being a walking showcase for Nike is probably the last thing stopping us from signing him

If Chelsea get him I will personally assasinate Abramovich. Ok, maybe not assasinate, but tie his shoes together so he falls down, put a whoopee cushion on his seat at very important conferences, and pour salt in his morning coffee.

Haha. This was actually in AS the day Barca lost to Seville but the translation was quite bad I couldn't read into more of the details.

Mmm...I remember Ronaldinho saying something kind of negative about Chelsea, about them being all about money and not soccer tradition. Trust me, he wouldnt hesitate while picking between Chelsea and Milan, if somehow/someday they compete for the player.

This is definitely in the pipeline in the years to come. Barca are and have always been a selling club. Remember Ronaldo? Rivaldo? Romario? Maradona? I can go on and on. Barca will eventually sell Ronaldinho. Very few players begin and END their careers at Barcelona. What's most likely happened is that we have informally secured an option to sign him in the future. So perhaps next year or two years down the road if he decides that he has had enough of Barca and wants a change in scenary, we will have first referral. Let's just hope he doesnt turn out like Rivaldo, who came to us too late in his career.

As long as kaka is here i doint see the point in Ronaldhino. I am totally againt using the one striker system especially with the current strikers we have, the wc is proof of that -with the exception of italy of course.

It's a pitty the only exception to your rule, is the World champion's team...
It makes it look like it's the best system if we use the WC as a proof, since France was playing only one striker as well... So either the two finalists have been very lucky, either the system is not so bad at all...

But anyway, I'm not quite sure I would even be half glad should Ronaldinho come, yet he might do kinda well if he's a kind of a second striker, like he actually is in Barcelona IMO...

And, I'm not quite sure I'd like to see us playing only one real striker up front...

I think we'd much better spend less money (since I don't think any player could be as expensive as Ronaldinho, seeing the Barca hype travelling arorund those days) on a true striker...

Well we agree on the one striker part becoz of our current striking dept. Still even if Ronaldino was a bargain or a free transfer I'd still say no. His recent attitude is concering with reference to bust up with coach and demanding more money. No ronaldhino is bigger than the game, no matter how much humility he appears to have, and his celebrity status would be a distraction to him and the team. He can stay at barca, or better yet go to chelsea, to further increase the teams ego and let them lose

I don't see the sudden interest in this "rumour" from the Sun. It was reported a day or two before the Celta match that Ronaldinho wouldn't be in the starting line up because of an injury. I guess the Sun forgot that bit.

Entertaining this idea though, if it was between us and Chelsea, we'd win as he's said he wouldn't want to play for them and if he did leave Barca it would be to Milan.

JIm I thought he was disallowed from playing as Frank has a 48 hour rule about players being available & dinhio skipped a training session for some promotion (with Nike?) and therefore was left out of the squad. C'mon rumours are pretty much all we've had for the past weeks, never hurts to throw another one into the mix
