Yup, just as I thought, the perfect recipie for a low scoring, or nil nil result.

a defensive and dynamic midfield like that is not a bad choice for a game like the one in Glasgow. Celtic will throw at us everything they have and then some and they can be very tenacious and quick when they are inspired as I am sure they will be ... so at least for the first 50-60 min of the game, having a tougher midfield with a good header like Ambro in it, is in a way a natural choice.

I would have preferred to see a mid with Gattuso, Pirlo, and Ambro/Janku in it behind a creative duo of Kaka and Gorky and Oliveira up front as this would give us more creativity and speed in attack but the line-up suggested by Gazzetta makes sense as well as it has it's strong points too.

Wow. How conservative can he get? How long before Gourcuff gets pissed off and runs off to Arsenal?

I really would have preferred Gourcuff over Brocchi at least so we can have a little spark on the counter attack. Needless to say we won't be creating many chances today, unless Pirlo n Kaka have a heck of a game.

I genuinely hope the Gazzetta lineup is wrong, I can't say I have a great deal of faith in that lineup. I can only imagine should Carlo go with it, then he probably has his reasons.

...I think that both Oliveira and Bonera should start instead ok kala and gila...oli and bonera are in form, while the other two are coming back from injuries...don't like the rest of the line-up but I understand it, this is an away match in the champions league and our priorities are to qualify to the next round no matter how

I agree to an extent with those who think this formation will prevent a deluge of Celtic goals...but my view is that, recently, our defensive form isnt all that good...so why not use the best form of defense = Attack?

Pragmatisim rules however, and I cannot fault Carlo, worse if we get a result.

I really hope Carlo will install Gourcuff alongside Kaka' in the middle as it can help us create some dangerous chances... Brocchi-Gattuso-Ambro is simply a little too much even for Carlo. Or is it??? My sugesstion:

This one has jumping power, speed in 3 up front and pass. Plus, CM can cover much more with Yoann then with Seedorf.
