I dont know why it is young players usually dont shine at big clubs unless their a HUGE talent.. i mean wouldnt it make sence they just become better by learning from the best? like if u wer to go to barca at a young age ud have the likes of messi ibra villa henry to mentor u,,, at the same time i dont think most people understand the amount of pressure for playing like a team like milan or barca manu etc is.. ur playing for oen of the best teams in the world teams they probably watched on tv when they were kids and dreamt of playing for, anyhow i think ibra would be a good transfer if it goes through - ill pass on elano unles he comes cheap. and i still think we should look into honda or vdv

Yes, but after that we hit last 16 twice and did not even qualify once, so it's kind of balance.

I think us and Boca Juniors both have 18 international trophies. Or Boca have 17...

oh ok just wondering.. and does anyone know what happend to vagner love. he used to be one of my fave brazilian strikers at one point when everyone hyped about him imo HE would be a good striker for us.. but i have no idea his form atm or even where he plays

Back with CSKA after being loaned to Palmeiras and Flamengo. As far as I know he's had a tough time in Brazil and is now back in Russia trying to regain form.

Here is the official ranking of the clubs participating in this year's CL for those that had the discussion on that earlier, if someone is still unclear on that. Milan is ranked #8 currently but can move up to #7 if Sevilla doesn't make it.

About the market.....it is really weird to me that we didn't go for Hernanes when we were linked to him for a whole year. The only thing to comes to my mind is the non-EU and that we might be saving it for someone. Hopefully someone big. I guess, hope always dies last.

But anyhow, if Lazio gets Hernanes then I think we will get Ledesma from them, since we are openly in need of a midfielder according to Allegri. And then hopefully use the non-EU on someone else. If that does happen, I would be very happy because IMO Ledesma is an incredible midfielder. The quality of Lazio with and without him is a huge difference. But then, does that mean that we'll push Pirlo further forward??? I hope so.

Actually, I just read on Goal.com that we have been in contact with Lyon about Bastos, but labeled him too expensive according to the player himself. It happened during the Emirates Cup in London.

Reading this table hurts me ...
We really need to make it to the 1/4 or 1/2 (at least) this season because I can't believe that we are behind clubs like Inter, Arsenal, Bayern and Sevilla. I can't believe that if we don't do a good season in CL, even Lyon or Madrid (a joke in CL these last years) could sooner or later be higher than us in this table.

That means these clubs have been more regular/constant in CL than us in the last 5 years, and that's just a shame.

PS: And there is also Liverpool who is higher than us in the table (more points), but they're in Europa League. Just imagine (which will probably happen) that Sevilla qualifies, we'll be the 8th team, well, we'll be a seeded team thanks to Liverpool.

Benfica has the advantage of being mid level team to do this kind of business, IMO.

No, Cruzeiro isn't like São Paulo, Santos, Internacional... they always sell players fast and cheap. Btw, I just use Ramires as example... We could have got Jucilei for 6 to 8 millions(Corinthians wanted to sell, but the player only wanted to go to a big team).

Ilsinho is overrated. Very skilled, but I can't see he helping us at RB position. Unless Shaktar thought him a new way to play.

WEll, those ranking is based on European competition and not just CL alone. In some way, even though Pool is playing in the Europa, if they do well there and Milan only gets into 1st knockout round, Milan will probably still be behind them.

We need to start winning, in 2 years our 2007 trophy will count nothing in this coefficient.

I am looking forward to seeing the young guys this season if they play , mainly Merkel Strasser but hopefully Verdi comes on and doesnt look like a deer caught in headlights.Its pretty clear we won't be buying anyone so we'll have to look at some positive .

Fletcher was an average player when he first broke into ManU squad, but after gaining exps and working hard, he is probably one of the better CM in the world. Hopefully, guys like Strasser, Verdi and Merkel will do the same.
