Berlusconi isn't exactly known as an angel in the world of politics. But to tell u the truth, im not into politics, and even if i was, i dont care what he does to get the money just as long as he brings it to Milan
![]() However, I dont think Abramovic is into stealing money and all that. I think his profits all come from international organizations dealing with oil. |

I much rather have Toni than Torres in Milan (some reasons):
1) We would take him away from Inter. Another win. 2) His cost is lower to that of Nino. 3) He is proven in Serie A. 4) He already knows Gila, who could be his future partner. 5) He is rock solid, very strong and nowadays there is a lot of emphasis on dead balls. There he could thrive. 6) Im not impressed by Torres. Seen plenty of him at Atletico and we would be paying a lot more than what his real value is. Hype. 7) Transition. It would be much easier for Toni, from every standpoint. He stays in the same country, same culture, same football. 8) He is italian. Thats always a plus and I like to have guys like Maldini, Pirlo, Pippo, Gila, Gattuso on our side (see: Inter). Im sure there are many more. But bottomline (for me): Cheaper and Better. |

Well, according to tgcom.it - http://www.tgcom.mediaset.it/sport/a...lo314659.shtml - Milan has reached an agreement with Atletico M for the signature of Fernando Torres. The transfer fee is believed to be in the rgion of 30 mil euros with the player being given a 5 year contract worth between 3-3.5 mil/year. The transfer is expected to be officially annoinced at the end of Spain's involvement in The World Cup.
Not sure how true this is but tgcom.it is owned by Silvio's Mediaset and is usually reliable when it comes to these things. Also keep in mind that I haven't read this "news" anywhere else on the Net but that doesn't necessarily mean there is no trith to is. |

Let's hope its a true statement, 'cause it will be very weird to see mere rumour's involving Milan to be published on a Berlusconi's newspaper.

I'm still pretty cautious, but I cannot refrain my sheer happyness with that report... nevertheless, if it's a true one, that will be a veritable move on the right direction, a soundful demonstration of ambition, boldness, power and desire to win.

Milan 'close to Torres deal' Saturday 17 June, 2006
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Newspaper reports claim that Milan are very close to snatching Spain sensation Fernando Torres for £20.5m. “I know the rumours about my future are strong now,” said the 22-year-old. “I think it is because there is a World Cup coming up and that’s when people are always thinking about big transfers. I've lived through these rumours a thousand times in the last five years and they won't affect me. I am trying to focus on the World Cup which is my biggest priority right now.” The striker looks set to leave Atletico Madrid in the summer and his stunning World Cup goal in the 4-0 win over the Ukraine has only increased interest around him from Manchester United. However, it’s claimed that the Rossoneri have the upper hand due to their previous strong transfer rapport with the club and their long-term links with the player, who has been on their wish-list since he was a teenager. In the past few years, Milan and Atletico have exchanged players such as Jose Mari, Fabricio Coloccini, Cosmin Contra and Demetrio Albertini. Fernando Torres would represent a young and vibrant replacement for Chelsea-bound Andriy Shevchenko and still leave £10m to spare for other reinforcements in the side. The Italian Press is claiming that he has already agreed a five-year contract worth £2.5m per season, but that the announcement will only be made at the end of the World Cup.

Milanisti friends,
Lets have a look at this comparison.... Today Torres vs 7 years ago Shevpound.. I believe Torres is better than Shevpound when he came from Dinamo Kiev to Milanello. To hit a half volley ball towards a beautiful gol against Ukraine isn't the easy thing to do. To be honest....in that game I didn't see Shevpound do something dangerous as if he plays with Milan.... Now..just cross our fingers that Zlat's news is TRUE and Torres is about signing the contract after the WC.......

These news look realsitic as Milan has always been in there for Torres. He will not be sold to Real, Barca doesnt need him. Juve? hehe, I dont think so.... Chelsae ahs Sheva now, and so on.... Torres is 22 years old and our trident could be kaka-gila-torres, and that looks just fine by me. Torres can move really well, in Milanello he will for sure raise his game by some 20%, working with pippo and gila can help him. REmember that he wasnt playing with Ronaldinho or Kaka to just finish off their great passes, he player for Atl. Madrid and he needed to work well on the pitch. Torres, in my oppinion, is an expected buy. I was kind of hoping for Zlatan, but he'll go to MAdrid with his lover Capello.... Torres would be a VERY GOOD signing.
Now lets clinch that deal and rest of Sheva money spend on oddo and gallas.

![]() lets be honest, Sheva at the age of Torres was regularly the top scorer of the Ukranian league - and it may not be as famous as the Primera but that's one tough league to play in (very physical football is played there and the defenders are very, very tough, closing in on rough, actually). Above all, however, at Torres' age, Sheva had already set Europe and the CL on fire and was scoring hattricks to teams like Barca, Real, and was making Bayern's defence look average at best. In his first season in Serie A, Sheva became the league goalscorer. Torres is not even close to these achievements. Torres is what one could call a "diamond in the making", Sheva was already a pretty nice looking diamond when he came to milan. Torres has galores of talent but it's a talent he has yet to realize, Sheva's had already more or less realized his potential when he came to Milan. If we have to be honest and fair, I am sure most people here would pick a 22-yo Sheva over Torres on the sec. Last edited by zlatanov; 17-06-2006 at 12:55. |
