I expect Yoan to be fully able to play in that same role in AC Milan. With Pirlo,Flamini/Rino,Kaka' and Dinho next year. He has enough moving qualities ( something Seedorf actually lacks as a CM nowdays, except for few games per season ) and has enough composure and technique, shot, heading, has grown phisicaly and mentaly a lot.

yoan will 90% be back with us. Its just important we say bye to some of our palyers like Emerson and maybe Seedorf. IF we are to play Yoan. In reverse case there is no point of getting him back at all.

Actually in his debut game it was Yoann - Brocchi - Rino - Kaka and he delivered an exceptional performance. The game we played that formation was vs Messina in which we completely DOMINATED Messina and should have one 4 or 5-0 but only won 1-0.

I hope Gourcuff's smart enough not to come back into this mess though. It'll be the same story again. Let's analyze our midfield for a moment.

AM: Kaka(always plays and isn't subbed out during games), Seedorf(Carlo's best buddy), Dinho(Berlu's signing)
CM/CDM: Pirlo, Gattuso, Ambro, Flamini, Emerson, Cardacio, Seedorf(Carlo always finds a way to play him).

While I'd love to see (Pirlo - DM - Gourcuff - Kaka) there's no way you're gonna convince Seedorf, Ambro etc to take the bench. If I were Gourcuff, I'd only come back if Carlo permanently dropped the 2 DM setup in midfield, which allows more selection opportunities for a creative CM/AM like himself. But then Carlo can't drop the two DM formation because he has to satisfy our plethora of DM's.

It's just a neverending cycle which leads me to the conclusion that if Gourcuff really wants to come back, he should do so in two years time when there's more space. Not that he isn't good enough to fight for his spot...it's that he won't even get a chance to do so.

Who do they both think will fill in Seedorf's role in the not-too-distant future?? Brocchi?

I read that with sadness but not surprise...I am curious to know what the buy-out price is. Usually those are non-negotiable and set at the beginning of the loan deal, so it's not like Galliani is trying to be shrewd. Gourcouff deserves better than to come back and sit, and I hope that he stays in Bordeaux.

Because stupid Ancelotti didn’t realize the talent that Yohann was/is or how to get the best out of him. (as is the case with most young players) You must give them playing time & put these young players in positions that amplify their strengths, not force them to play a certain way that kills their natural abilities/creativity.

For this reason Ancelotti only like matured players as he can’t develop young ones like Wenger.

If they can’t play in the formation Ancelotti has setup they’re frozen out of the line up, while their confidence takes a beating, and their stock and ability goes plummeting downwards.

But as soon as they move to another team they’re reborn!!!

Get ready for that gutted feeling cause, I’d be surprised if Bordeaux doesn’t exercise their option on Gourcuff at the end of this season.

Ancelotti MUST change his approach with youngsters and how they are used, or GET OUT!!!

But what guarantees Gourcuff success in Italy when the French league is much easier? Flamini has stated the same thing: It's easier to play in France than in Italy, which are more defensive-minded and emphasize lots more on tactics.

Yoann have great potential: but what makes him automatically a better player than Brocchi IN ITALY?

I would rather than Yoann Gourcuff gets loaned out and then come back better and stronger, rather than for him to not playing at Milan and, when he plays, he isn't strong enough to play yet.

If there is an option to buy its a huge management mistake, his potential or playing time may be questionable but if for whatever reason Bordeaux were able to get the option to buy this is very poor foresight on our part. He was highly regarded and that is why we signed him in the first place, we surely could have sent him only on loan, I highly doubt its more difficult to find teams who will take players on pure loans.

I'm tired arguing bout Gourcuff's playing time so I won't bother...but Jeff it should be noted that he's actually playing better for the French national team than for Bordeaux...so you can't just say that the French league is easier. You also know how much pressure that French team + coach are subjected to. Gourcuff's better off elsewhere and I hope he has the sense to realize that. That's all I have to say on the matter.

It would be really sad if Bordeux do excersize their clause to buy the player for only 15 million. I also agree with many about Ancelotti's tendency of not giving enough playing time or confidence to younger players.

At the very least, Gourcuff could be used to lure Arsenal's Adebayour in a trade + cash deal. With Wenger reporedly being a fan of Gourcuff, a good deal could be done. But well see how Galliani will hanlde this situation.

At the moment, Gourcuff has no room in the team, with seedorf, Kaka, and Ronoldinho all playing his position. So a sale is the most likely option, so its up to Galliani to get the best deal possible.

Selling him now will be crazy; Let's hope that Bordeaux won't execute it...

Marvelous goal by Gourcuff today against 2nd place Toulouse. Also heard he had a nice assist for the second goal as well.

I think here like the Gila case..it was due to the system, why they didnt succeed, But after this game, If Gorky is to comeback..we ought to find him a place in the first 11, and/or adapt a new system around him. He has so much potential, that I would cry if Bordo were to take him.

I agree with you, but the question is whether adapting the system to him will mean that it will have to sacrifice the system creating for other (i.e., Kaka`).

They may be mutually non-exclusive, but I highlight doubt so.

If we ever adapt a system to lets say Gorky, I highly doubt that Kaka and Dinho will get affected much. I think a new system will mean Pirlo out. Kaka and dinho are not similar to Gorky(though they may play in the same position.
Kaka & dinho need a man who will link them with the defense(read Pirlo & Gorky).No matter if you are a deep lying midfilder or a creativ CM,your job is to organise the game.

So if he comebacks Pirlo could be benched, of course taking for granted that Seedorf wont be counted as a first team player.
